Great Place to try for a special night out!!
You will be Glad You Did.
It was a Special Birthday dinner for my boy friend. It far exceeded my expectations. Food was delicious. Wait staff was very accommodating. Very good wine selection. It’s very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back and will tell our friends how good it is.
The ambience here was fantastic, as was the service. The food was a solid A. Not an A+, but damn good. If the halibut had been cooked a minute less and if there had been a touch more acid in the mustard greens, I'd have given the food five stars. Even as is, I'd go back without hesitation.
Otis is consistently fabulous! The service is fantastic and the food is delicious. It will continue to be one of our few ‘go-to’ spots.
Mike makes a great sidecar. Lee makes delicious meals.
Food is outstanding; everything is fresh. By the end of the five courses, I was stuffed.
Sitting at the Chef's Counter and being able to interact with the Chef and Sous
Chef is the best.. Very enlightening discussion as to how they have survived COVID-19. First Fried Chicken Fridays and now their 5 Course Meal. As always the food was exceptional as well as the service. It's great to see a place like this continue to make it through the times we are in..
Anyone can slap heated proteins on a plate and call it food. We frequently do that at home. THIS IS NOT THAT!
Dining at Otis is so much more than just typical food consumption... it's an experience. The plate of food is interesting and beautiful. Have you ever thought to grate egg onto a dish? Nope? Me neither. But the chef has, and did, and it was awesome!
You can tell that thought goes into what and how everything is plated. Our dinner was fantastic. We can't wait to return!
Small, intimate, perfect for date night! Food was amazing, we ordered both courses offered and tried everything, so fresh and delicious! Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back!
Always amazing and creative food made with fresh, local ingredients. Chef Lee is one of the finest chefs in this area!
This restaurant is always amazing. Excellent food, friendly staff, have never had a bad experience here. One of our favorite local restaurants to dine at. If you've never been here, highly recommend it.
Always an amazing meal at Otis., I am glad they are back. The food, as always, is delicious and the "Sleeper 5" is an amazing value for what you get.
Tables are spaced apart, all staff and guests are conscientious about wearing masks and maintaining social distance. One of the few places we feel absolutely comfortable dining in. Highly recommend.
Great experience and food, as always. They never disappoint
I will continue to come back here over and over! Food is unique with just the right amount of familiarity.
I enjoy the opportunity to try a variety of small bites, each wonderfully prepared and beautifully served. The menu changes weekly so there are always new taste possibilities. Chef Lee Frank is a master and respects his ingredients, his space, and, most of all, his customers.
Always outstanding! Love how the menu changes and it’s always something new and fresh.
Excellent, as always!
Cool ambiance, excellent location in lovely downtown Exeter near the fables Band Stand. Interesting eclectic food choices and pairings. Very neat dining experience. Small space so book your reservations early.
It’s awesome that we have a restaurant of this quality in downtown Exeter! Innovative food, fantastic chefs, and friendly staff. We love sitting at the counter, watching the kitchen and chatting with the chefs.
Phenomenal food except for dessert. Short rib gnocchi and beet salad appetizers were both perfectly balanced. High-quality sirloin cooked slightly less than requested but delicious nonetheless. Salmon was not the thick cut that I expected, but the seasoning and slight char were so expertly executed I didn’t care. The wine and beer list is short but quality trumps quantity - there were no “throw aways” in either category. The Barbera, in particular, was good. Service was attentive and friendly. Strange choice of music - 90s rap but the volume was low enough that it didn’t distract much. The only real disappointment was dessert - a small piece of flourless chocolate cake with a couple dollops of chocolate mousse. Still, this will be our go-to Exeter-Portsmouth restaurant for the foreseeable future.
Great food and service. Every course was fresh and healthy.
Everything about the dining experience at Otis. is extraordinary. Creative food, superb service, friendly bar, and great local buzz. Owner/Chef Lee Frank is hitting all the numbers. Been there a number of times, and plan to continue. Reservations are a must.
Always a pleasure. Great staff, great chefs. Noise level is high so you need to be able to tolerate. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. Thank you Otis
The 5 course sleeper was excellent, except the portions were a bit smaller than they used to be.
I love this place. Really hard. The food is excellent - seriously. YUM. The wine is excellent, and the bartender ideal. I will be taking everyone who comes to visit here. What a treasure! Be warned that choosing is slightly stressful, because everything looks good and I have complete faith in their abilities. Planning to go again to try untried delights.
Service great. Food very good. Restaurant quiet. Slow time of year.enjoyed our visit.
They need to stop serving Tri-Tip as a steak. Cooked decently and sliced thin it is ok in a sandwich but most other restaurants who took up this trendy California hipster cut of steak have abandoned it because it is like chewing on a shoe. I would rate everything else a 10/10 but the Tri-Tip, although perfectly cooked is a 3/10.
Another great dinner at Otis. We sat at the chef's counter -- same menu, but you get to watch all the preparation -- a well oiled machine! Between the 4 of us we had 4 different starters and 4 entrees, and each one stood out. Loved the chicken sausage starter. The shaved red cabbage was a flavorful take on a caesar salad. Loved the cod on a bed of stewed lentils and kale.
Fabulous food, fabulous customer service. Great attention to detail by both the staff and owner/chef. Thanks for a great experience.
Went for our anniversary and had a great experience.
Sat at chefs table. Totally delightful watching, chatting and eating.
My husband and I recently visited and had a lovely meal at Otis - I’ve been dying to try it. Overall we had a great experience. Food was delicious, the only gripe would be a medium/well done steak vs. medium-rare, but it still had great flavor and stayed pretty tender.
I will warn visitors, it’s very loud. We were OK with it and just also tried to speak loudly to each other , but I know that can be off putting for some.
Overall a fun experience and we’ll definitely be back to try the chefs 5-course menu again.
Best food around, creative, local, fresh and menu changes regularly.
Approached the menu with an open mind. Glad we opted for the chef’s tasting menu.
Always a fabulous experience! We ate at the counter near the kitchen, and it was great to see and talk with the chef about the food, which was beautiful and delicious. Otis is my favorite go-to for a fun night out!
Always fantastic food. Noise is a tad high, but after a few mins you notice it less.
The food in NH gets no better than Otis. The chef cooks with creativity and you can taste the love that is put into each dish. The waitstaff/ Bar Staff is equally as fantastic. This is our goto spot and favorite restaurant to recommend to others
A fantastic experience all around - from ambience, to servers, to the world-class food. Now, one of my favorite restaurants!
