Pasta del Giorno
Daily changing pasta of the day
Housemade herb focaccia bread, herbs, garlic, parmigiano infused olive oil
Wild Mediterranean sea bass, herb dressing, roasted potatoes, sauteed vegetables
Everything was great! Food, drinks, service and staff were all awesome.
Loved the food, excellent service!!
Our server was very attentive and engaging. We had a fun conversation with the owner about the large wall mural. He stayed at least 5 minutes to chat with us about the Siena Palio and the history of it. Extra points for the server who kept my always-thirsty husband with a full glass of water the entire time!
I had not been inside, in a restaurant since the pandemic began last year, so we wanted to mark the occasion with going somewhere special. A former boss of mine, who is a gastronome and lived many years in Italy, always loved Palio, so we thought it would be perfect. It was. Beautifully presented, wonderful food, with complex flavors - from antipasto through dessert. The service was impeccable, and the ambience modern and tasteful. I'm so glad this restaurant survived the pandemic. Do yourself a favor and go there as soon as possible.
This is a great restaurant! They have the best pizza we have ever had. I could taste the quality and fresh, handmade ingredients. The service was amazing. Our server was very attentive and professional. It would be a great date spot or for anyone who loves great food.
My wife had the beef carpaccio for an appetizer. She loved it. I had the Fritti Misti di Mare, very delicately done calamari, prawns, and very delicately done onions, celery, and carrots.
I also had the Pasta del Giorno, which was fusilli with prosciutto and asparagus.
Martin' was a very good waiter, and took care of us.
We will be back.
Prices too high on food and drinks, considering they're average on cuisine quality.
Everyone was attentive and really friendly, especially our waiter who was funny and kind. The food was so good and you can smell and see the pizza oven with the wood and it was just a great experience overall. I highly recommend the focaccia to start off your meal!
First indoor restaurant as the SF city restrictions open up & I will say it was lovely. Actually searched for an indoor restaurant vs outdoor, & this popped up. What drew me to Palio was the reviews of it being a family run place with quality food, & I will say it did not disappoint. The services was on point, our waiter was super attentive, my water never went below half a glass throughout our meal & plates were quickly cleared. Working in the service industry for years I notice the small items. We ordered the shrimp salad, a meat appetizer plate (the pate was amazing!) and a pizza. We really wanted to order more, because everything looked & smelled amazing but we were stuffed. The pizza was perfect, thin crust, a tasty sauce and the sausage-go flavorful! We will definitely be back to visit, & I highly recommend this place to check out, they weren't too busy & I consider it now a hidden gem! Thanks!
Great food, great service, and great people
My wife and I took some friends to Palio to celebrate an event, and everything was phenomenal. The food was fresh and amazing from the soup to the entrees to the desserts, the waiter was attentive to everyone, and we left with delicious leftovers. Fortunately, everyone at our table was into sharing, so I tasted 4 dishes: The branzino was my favorite, with the pizza as a close second; the ribeye was fantastic and the salmon was scrumptious. The homemade gelatto was the best possible ending to the meal. The owner, Martino, stopped by our table with a warm welcome, making us feel like we were in Italy, where such intimate hospitality is the norm. We look forward to another visit!
My fettuccine Alfredo was the perfect portion, perfecto with a lovely wine to complement the meal. Delicious!
One of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. Great food & exceptional service with a friendly ambiance.
They staff was outstanding
Great food and ambiance
Fantastic Branzino and marlin. These were some of the best fish we had in SF. The marlin (daily special) was wrapped around capers, anchovies and onions. The sides (veggies, risotto) were also perfectly prepared.
This is an undiscovered gem with consistently wonderful food. I had the Halibut perfectly prepared and served with delicate squash blossoms. Also the baked focaccia was crunchy in a spicy olive oil puddle and most unusual.
High quality service and cuisine. Handsome facility. Reasonable price. I highly recommend Palio.
It was our first time heading into the city for dinner since the pandemic started. We were not sure what to expect, and we’re completely taken by the food, the service, and the overall experience. Everything was fantastic! We even snagged a parking spot close to the entry which of course is always a bonus. We certainly will be back!
Fabulous ambiance and fantastic food .
Thank you for making our dining experience always very personal.
Focaccia bread is a must try . Alfredo pasta was amazing too !
The menu, when viewed on open table, showed an impressive wine list and advertised a happy hour. However, upon arrival, we were told that the happy hour no longer exists. Also the wine list was quite small, consisting of only very expensive bottles. This restaurant I am assuming has been closed for quite some time. During this free time, why have they not updated the website/OpenTable listing to reflect the current menu? What a bait and switch! Food was mediocre. Service was okay.
This is the best restaurant in FiDi. Great Italian food + the owner Martino is jovial; a great experience.
superb service and quality food all around. one of the best if not the best for authentic italian food in SF!
If you close your eyes you're in Italy complete with locals laughing, sharing spirits, and eating the homemade pasta, perfect pizza, fresh fish, juicy steaks, and more. Dessert is a must with unique creations of freshly made gelatos and hands down the best tiramisu outside of Italy!
The proprietors, Martino and Valeria, welcome you into their newly remodeled Italian hideaway where they like to push "test kitchen" creations on daring patrons. Some authentic Italian creations and others will leave you happy they throw new world and old world together to create magic. Love, love, love the experience every time!
Excellent Italian restaurant in downtown San Francisco. Pizza is very authentic and thin crust. They have a wood oven that makes for a great pizza. Tiramisu is amazing!
It was very elegant . I wasn’t dressed up and no judgement while ordering . Just overall it was a great experience.
Fabulous food and service! Great for a group.
Excellent service, cuisine, ambiance, and more importantly appropriately priced (not over-priced). Extensive appetizer menu, pasta expertly made, and don't forget the outstanding pizzas. Bottom Line!!! Best Italian restaurant in town.
Excellent Meal. Old school service done right.
From start to finish Palio's service, food and beverage are outstanding. Ambiance and décor create a fine dining experience.
We went here on a whim to celebrate my mom’s birthday. The staff was great! The food was amazing and the bill was way lower than we expected for the amount and quality of the delicious food and drinks that we enjoyed! We will definitely be back!!
Great food and friendly staff. We had a great experience from beginning to end!
Food was delicious and service was amazing! Main course excellent and dessert and espresso ended the meal perfect. Restaurant is tucked in a strip setting. Take the time to find it because it’s totally with it.
Everything about my experience at Palio was perfect, as it ALWAYS is--global pandemic or not. Every aspect of my experience was consistent to the perfect experiences my husband and I have had at Palio for now multiple years. The food was delicious! I salivate even thinking about my meal! Martino always makes us feel like we are members of the family when he greets us and always provides impeccable service. If we lived closer to San Francisco, we would 100% eat at Palio every week!
Service was pretty nice, but we ordered ravioli and pizza, both were not good.
The food and service were generally very good. The black truffle butter for the bread was quite good, as was the Bronzino and the pizza. Solid food, a little pricey for what one gets but still worth it.
Always a great location for lunch. The food is good and consistent in it preparation and delivery. Great Italian wine list and friendly service. When business clients are in from out of town this is a "go to" location.
My pasta with crab had little crab, didn’t see or taste green peppers nor breadcrumbs so less than expected. My friends salmon salad looked great. Waiter was nice but didn’t check in. Had to ask for bread.
Great food. The 3-course Fast lunch item was a good value
