Horrible service

Good outdoor eating area! Great food! Good service!

I’ve been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long time, finally booked a reservation on Valentine’s! We ate a little earlier than I normally like to (5:30 was the last and only reservation available that day) but it turned out perfect actually. We had time for appetizers and drinks, by the time we ate it was around 6:30.

One thing to note is there are no heat lamps—well there is on the patio but not the extended seating towards the street (where we sat). It was fine though. The booths are pretty well insulated, and they were covered so we didn’t get rained on. My boyfriend and I started dating 2 months before covid hit, so we really didn’t have much of a chance to “date”. It was so nice to go out to dinner together!

I wasn’t sold on the menu at first, but once I tried it I was pleasantly surprised. Delicious combos, creative and festive dishes/drinks. Fun atmosphere, sang along to the music with folks from other tables. It felt almost like normal again. Loved the food, coconut Brussel sprouts were DIVINE, they even honored my dietary restrictions and took out the jalapeño’s—which was thoughtful of them.

The main dish I ordered was the tofu, and it was delicious. One thing is the dishes were pricey for the amount of food they gave, my boyfriend ordered the mahi magi, but it wasn’t enough food, so definitely add coconut rice if you want to leave feeling “full”.

The service staff was very friendly and sweet, service was good overall. Loved the bathrooms (mermaids/pirates) cute nautical theme inside. Will definitely be back again soon! They have punch bowls for larger groups, want to try that next time.

Everything was great. Great service, great food and location. Very friendly and polite waitress and hostess. Cool menu and drinks....But I was freezing, you guys need a heating lamp:)

well it was great to eat out again, and kudos to Palm House for being quick to reopen and organized with their reservations. Food / value / service were all fine but not more than fine, although in fairness you do lose a fair amount of the ambience when you're eating on the sidewalk

they charged extra for tofu in a salad where we took away the chicken. Like we had to pay for both tofu AND chicken, that we didn't even get. Keep in mind that we only took the salad bc the other vegan options were out.

Palm House is such a fun spot for a date or a get together with friends! They have build the cutest outdoor eating area that extends the fun tiki-like decor complete with hanging plants and bamboo. The shrimp was super tasty, and better than expected and the service staff was really sweet and accommodating. We'll be back!

Was nervous to go out to eat for the first time since SIP but the Palm House is only offering outdoor seating, wait staff are all wearing masks, and tables seemed spaced apart nicely. Besides the safety, the food and drinks were amazing, environment was quiet even while seated partially on sidewalk, and staff were all very friendly and helpful! Recommend having a phone on you as this is how you have to view the menu now.

Brunch for Father’s Day was perfect and my husbands first sit down outdoor restaurant meal since SIP began in our area.

Thank you for delicious food, great service and what appeared to be a well thought out sanitized outdoor eating experience during this time of transition .

Incredible Staff and Amazing Food In a Beautiful Location

I made a reservation for two but had last minute change and they were flexible enough to make it work for three. Food is interesting and drink is great!

Sooo loud in the bar area but at least everyone was having fun and the service was really good

Our server was excellent and the food was amazing! I loved the vibe it was very energetic and fun!

Initially we were seated near a door to the outside that servers kept opening and closing. It was quite chilly. When we complained, they nicely found us an inside table. We made a meal out of several appetizers, all of which were very good. We even ordered seconds of the shrimp skewers.

I was hungry on a Wednesday night and stopped in to try the restaurant. The food was good quality (a little on the expensive side) and the service was friendly. It was a late Wednesday night so it was rather quite.

Such yummy food for restaurant week, and very vegetarian friendly with their restaurant week options. So I imagine their regular menu is pretty veggie friendly too. It was just a little loud, which is perfect for certain events. And they have an outdoor front part that would probably be less intensely noisy. Again the noise is perfect for going out with friends. It was an awesome spot with great service, and incredible food.

Wouldn't say it is super authentic caribbean food, but it is still good! Especially since Caribbean food is quite scarce in SF.

Service and overall food was amazing. I'm Caribbean and I felt like I was going home. The restaurant has three different sections which makes it even more unique depending on what area you're in.

Sunday Brunch: would return. Pleasant servers, but pace can pick up. We got our food before our drinks arrived. Thanks Palm House staff!

The food was delicious, and our server was very pleasant. Nice location on Union Street, with a larger room in back and a good-sized bar in the middle.

I’ve been here for dinner and brunch. The food is solid but not amazing. The service is good and they have a nice menu and drinks. Will go again for sure.

Our party of four loved the food here, which seems to be a fusion of cuisines from all places where the palm tree does grow!
The ambiance needs some work. While the decor is great, with a lot of visual inspiration from the Caribbean, some of us were cold most of the evening. Half the seats were on a plush bench, with cushy pillows, while the other half consisted of cold metal chairs.
Our main complaint was the noise level. The music was blasting the whole night - with some songs repeated - which made conversation difficult at times. You would have thought there was a dance floor in the place and they were trying to spin tunes to keep the crowd pumped up. There wasn't.

Such great service, they were attentive and so friendly, they even immediately brought a water bowl out for my dog. Came out and put leis around us.
The food was delicious too - ordered the Fried Rice Stuffed Pineapple, and it was made well! A bit of a wait, but it was fairly busy and on a Saturday morning.

It’s my second time here. I love the Hawaiian ambience of this restaurant. The outdoor space is as beautiful as the indoor one. Food is good, and service great. I think it’s a happy place both for Sunday brunch and dinner.

Our service was terrible. We waited over 30 minutes for our drinks and 45 minutes for food. The tables around us, including a four top who sat almost 30 minutes later got their food at the same time. Server never addressed it.

The waiter is awesome in figuring out how to incorporate our birthday celebration even though I’d forgotten to mention it to the hostess. Fun place with a lively crowd!

Palm house is great. Good service, consistently solid food, fun drinks, and a fun atmosphere. Perfect spot for a larger group of friends to have dinner and drinks on the weekend.

Dan and Collin were absolutely great hosts. I brought a friend here for a birthday with a group and she had a wonderful time!

A very festive warm place. The staff is wonderful! The service is well done. The drinks are very well presented and good. The food is not impressive but adequate.

We had a great time! We loved our chipotle mango margaritas and appreciated the happy hour price point!

Service & Staff was exceptional & accommodating. Brunch items were unique & tastes with fresh products. String cocktails. Outside brunch dining with pet dog was very comfortable.

Came here on a Saturday night to catch up with a friend. We could barely hear each other even though we were seated away from the bar area. The place was packed with college kids, and the bathroom line (and its cleanliness) was reminiscent of my clubbing days. Food was okay, our server was nice, but I wouldn’t recommend coming here for a chill and quiet dinner. I’d consider coming back but during the day or early dinner.
