Bad service and disappointing food. We had to flag our server down multiple times for service
The brunch menu is wonderful. We especially loved the coffee cake, the grapefruit brulee (quite unusual) and the Leek Scramble (which they graciously made for us without the bacon). We can't wait to return to try other things!
Great food and service, we will return. It's a bit noisy so not good for work or a larger group.
Great burger and appetizers!
Ive eaten here since it opened. Have always had a terrific experience. This last time was mediocre (at best). Didnt have a server for about 20 min. When we did it was one of FOUR different people. Food, when it finally arrived (two burgers and a pork chop) were cooked to near inedible wellness. Forgot our bread order. The only thing on point were the lemon crisps and Brussel sprout crisps, which were perfectly hot and delicious with their crisp Champagne.
Next time will probably just head to the bar for apps and drinks, as dinner appears to have fallen off.
Love Park Tavern. We had a very fun wait person and the food was delish.
Great service, small but seasonal menu, trendy vibe overlooking quaint Washington Square Park. A SF must!
Food was overcooked and price/value was way off the mark. Please don’t so the same to Tosca. Park Tavern is our local place but have been missing it on the food lately.
I live on the other end of town and always like to venture into other neighborhoods to discover new places to dine. I had read some information that this place was named best new restaurant on 2012 and that it was part of the "Big Night" restaurant group - for those in the know - that includes other locations such as Marlowe and the Cavalier (one of my favorite pre-theater locations).
I visited with a friend and we arrived early to grab a drink at the bar. It was a relatively busy Friday night, but not too crowded. We grabbed some stools and I ordered a McClaren gin cocktail and my friend went with a glass of Malbec.
Later we checked in with the front desk and were seated at a two-top in the front section of the restaurant. It was a little noisy - for some reason Elvis was playing over the speakers. Our table was super wobbly and our server fixed it perfectly within minutes.
For food, we each order a deviled egg (so good, with bacon and a bit of a pepper kick). Then we shared the warm goat cheese salad - which was perfect. For a main course, I went with the short ribs and my friend ordered the steak frites. Both were spot on. We finished by sharing the ice cream sandwiches - vanilla ice cream with blueberries. This was an off point because it was delivered to our table, but we had no utensils - and the blueberries were meant to be dolloped on top. So we had to grab a passing person who brought back two forks. It would have been helpful to have some knifes as well, in order to neatly scoop the scattered berries.
We also enjoyed a few glasses of Malbec during the meal (should've gone for the bottle).
All in all, a good experience. I'd definitely recommend this place. It's a bit pricey, but the food was delicious.
The Poulon Rouge was off the charts. We had a party of six and everyone really enjoyed their dinner.
Very good good and the service was exceptional!!! Thank you Demetri
We always love park tavern esp for brunch!
The hostess told me that “there were multiple voicemails left to get in contact about there being a prixe fix menu” and I never got a single voicemail or phone call. I am on my phone for my job, I wouldn’t have missed it. We got there, upset that we had to pay for the prixe fix menu and decided to do the a la carte. It was horrible. Next time, I’m happy to be called and being let know in advance, but please do it if you claim to. The hostess was not understanding at all and put us at a table after we told her multiple times that I had no idea I was getting contacted. I wish I did so I knew beforehand to plan better.
Service was just ok. Ordered toast and they had no jam???
Great food, good service. Nice ambience but the place is noisy. Overall, nice place to dine with friends.
One of our favorite places
We naked in advance for a table in as quiet a location as possible. We got that which was terrific.
Bartender was friendly creative and responsive
So was our wait staff. I had the fish and it was in a bed of a salt bomb - that’s the o my reason for he lower rating. The crudo could have been a bit tastier. Also the dining room was super Smokey for some reason.
Although the food was tasty - this was way too expensive!
I am aware that restaurant prices in San Francisco are high for a number of reasons - but I would save my $ for a place that really delivers.
Excellent food and attentive service. Great atmosphere and they didn’t make us share small plates which was most welcome.
Table was off balance , services was not up to par with past dining experiences, food was extremely bland.
As always a wonderful evening, dining at Park Tavern. Although, the table service from our waitress was below par. Receive little attention during the meal. Must have been busy with other tables. Regardless we will be back.
Tables to close very tight distracting
Worse service ever. Had to wait 30 min for drink order, then waiter forgot what we ordered. Received wrong appetizer and Main course, which was doubling frustrating since we were trying to make a show. The sommelier was helpful when we complained, but our waiter was the worse. Disappointing evening!
Had a delicious brunch- pineapple fritters, shrimp and grits, Bellinis! We sat on the patio and although it was a bit cold outside, the overhead heaters and blanket, offered by the staff, kept us warm. Had a great time watching the dogs play in the park.
Always great service and food! Really enjoy the bar area even if we are just there for a drink.
Great experience. The over abundance of holiday parties ruined the atmosphere a bit.
The lemons and buratta are incredible!
Fabulous as always! Great food! Great service! Energetic ambiance!
Nice restaurants. The fritters were great and shrimp and grits delicious. We will go back.
Great service and advice on the dishes. We made a couple of changes to the dishes and they were very accommodating.
Great food, cocktails & atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Armando was awesome!
His service was excellent and will definitely return sometime soon!
We had a great time!
High energy. Great food. Efficient service. Rustic decor.
The seven of us went for a special Birthday celebration. We had a very early reservation at 5:45pm. We still waited for over a hour for our order to be taken. My daughter and I were so dissapointed with our entree, which was trout. I feel that the restaurant should of said it is more like salmon flavor. Which we never would of ordered because we don't like salmon. The vegie's under the fish were salty and over cooked. My son's said the pork chop was good but the vegie's were cold. The pasta my husband ordered was bland. My daughter's burger was dry. Everything is ala carte which makes for an expensive meal. We don't mind paying such a high price for a dinner if it's worth it. Our waitress was very nice. Won't be going back or reccomending this restaurant to anyone.
Park Tavern never disappoints and I am still dreaming about the brussel sprout app! Cozy, warm and inviting- go for the Holidays!
A Birthday dinner with great friend. Yes loud, but boisterous and fun. Lots of family’s which is rare and due to Thanksgiving, BUT we had a blast. Food was just terrific and great and patient service for our table of 8! We’ll be baaaack!!
The food was delicious and plentiful!
Music playing was loud and inappropriate for early-ish brunch. Absolutely will not return for brunch due to this. I had to makeshift earplugs from bathroom tissue to be able to enjoy .
We had excellent service, though.... Too bad they can't make for a more relaxing environment, the place deserves better than the music they were playing.
Main dining room was filled with smoke from the kitchen to the point the restaurant had to open a door to the outside to vent the room more than once. Two of us had scallops and both of us commented how salty the greens were. This is the first time we’ve eaten dinner here and will most likely stick with like brunch/lunch.
