We were not aware of the prefix pricing before the dinner. Felt we were not given an option since most of the folks in our party don't eat that much. A call from the restaurant to confirm our reservation and the prefix menu would helped us not feel ambushed when we arrived.
Excellent Valentines Day experience. Wine, food, service all great.
Overall, we enjoyed our visit to PassionFish. We have come here many times to celebrate special occasions . We really like the ambiance and the food here. On this Valentines visit, the ambiance and food were great as always. All of our food was prepared and presented beautifully. But the service left us wanting. We were seated quickly at our reservation time. Then we waited for more than 10 minutes for anyone to stop by our table - not even receiving a glass of water. When the waiter arrived, he didn't acknowledge the delay. We were provided with a price fixe menu. The waiter told us that is the only menu for the evening, something that I would have liked to have known before arriving as we never eat dessert. One final very unsatisfactory service item was paying the bill. The waiter disappeared with my credit card for almost 10 minutes. We were at that point ready to go and have never waited that long to pay the bill. We will return to PassionFish but hope that the service improves.
Valentines Day
The Flounder entree is wonderful. It never disappoints!
Great food and service made for an exceptional birthday celebration for my wife! The personalized menus with her name were a special touch.
Great seafood dishes and good service ... somewhat noisy though ..
I went for business lunch and it was good. The sushi was the best part, which we ordered as apps, but they are EXPENSIVE, like NYC prices in Reston. I would not come myself but for business, it's fine. Seafood Cobb salad was good but dressing options are just okay.
Wonderful ambiance, staff, and food! Highly recommend!
Passion Fish is a wonderful restaurant! The atmosphere is regal, the food is always perfect, and the wait staff is very attentive.
The menu could use a revamp, some of their dishes are very pricey.
Frankly disappointed that a seafood restaurant would not have local oysters. And those they had were expensive. The chef strayed from common sense approach to my seafood Cobb. Must have had lots of leftover salmon but whose ever heard of that on a seafood Cobb. And big chunks of burned pork Lardos and sun dried tomatoes? The redeeming ingredient was the Louie dressing.
Sushi was and the Szechuan eggplant we're amazing. The donut holes were light and airy and just hit the spot.
Very disappointed in our dinner. The waiter asked if we wanted bread and we said yes, but he never brought it. I had to get up and ask where my husband's salad was when ours was delivered. I reminded him of the bread then. The waiter admitted to forgetting the salad. He brought it out and had forgotten to dress it. The food was cold, tasty but cold. Will not be back, especially because it was twice as much as other restaurants in the town center.
As always, Passion Fish did not disappoint. I took my wife there for her 70th birthday dinner, and she received a personalized menu and a complimentary dessert. In between the food was excellent and the service impeccable. We highly recommend PF for any occasion, special or ordinary!
1st visit. Will return.
Great customer service , great food, nice presentation.. fish is cooked to perfection - moist and flaky
sides are great - sweet potato fries are the best I have ever had - would like to have the recipe!
Dinner for four - Restaurant Week - as always, the restaurant week is a good value with everything on the menu available, although a few dishes with a slight uncharge. The food was very good and the service adequate. I think, over the years, the service has fallen off a bit. I yearn for the days of servers like Henry and Gulnara who were familiar with the wine list, able to make suggestions and actually knew the dishes on the menu. Those days appear to be gone and, although the servers are adequate, the level of professionalism is no longer there. Dom't get me wrong, the restaurant is still one of the better ones in NOVA but time has taken a toll. I still recommend visiting but go now with slightly lower expectations.
Excellent in every way as usual
The Thai lobster pot used to be much better. Have had it numerous times over the last few years and while it was good, it used to be great. Had heat but not as much flavor
Good deal for restaurant weekZ would come back again
Our server Maria was outstanding and gave excellent t suggestions. Everyone in our party of 6 had a delicious meal. Recommend the Swordfish.
Everything is delicious! I just wish a choice of two sides rather than one came with the entree since
I love veggies and I'm not a big eater ( appetizers, dessert, etc)
PassionFish has the BEST restaurant week!! Went twice - thank you.
My favorite place to go during Restaurant Week as they don't change their menu or lessen their portions as many restaurants do. Some meals are better than others but that is strictly because of my choices. I try to vary my selections. It is ALWAYS either very good or outstanding.
Outstanding!
Food is fantasic. Great ambience for a date. Free parking after 5 PM. Nice area to stroll around after dinner.
Used Restaurant week to try PF again after many years of not going based upon several bad meals... my blackened Mahi was tasty. I will try them again.
It was my first time dining at PassionFish in Reston on Sunday January 22nd and I had an outstanding time. My server was attentive and super friendly. The ambiance is very luxurious and a perfect place to go for date night. The food was perfectly portioned and tasted extraordinary. Everything about this restaurant is all you want your dining experience to be. PassionFish has definitely set the bar.
Great drinks
This is the first time I have tried the brunch at Passion Fish. I thought the food was very good and the brunch menu had plenty of varied options.
The experience and food overall was okay. It wasn't as good as we were hoping it was going to be. They weren't serving the restaurant week menu although it was the last day of restaurant week because it was Brunch only. They were out of one of the brunch menu items we wanted. The service was REALLY slow too.. we were there for 2.5 hours. But in general food was tasty and restaurant is nice.
Did their Sunday brunch, great value and amazing food. My husband and I loved everything we ate, but what really made it a great experience was the service we got. Our waitress was attentive but didn't rush service despite being busy, 5 star service from Vivian.
We have been to PassionFish for lunch and dinner on multiple occasions. This is the first time we went in for Sunday brunch and was very pleased with food and drink selections.
I've heard so many positive comments about PassionFish, so I was very excited to meet my sister and niece there for brunch. The waiter was very pleasant and the ambiance was nice. Our waiter highly recommended the seafood crepe, so I ordered that and the seafood cobb salad. The crepe was filled with what appeared to be a seafood bisque. It was runny and really didn't have much flavor. The salad arrived and looked pretty good. The menu said it came with blue cheese, I didn't see or taste any blue cheese. The pinkish salad dressing was very odd and did nothing to enhance the taste of the salad. The bacon on the salad was very delicious. Needless to say, I was very underwhelmed. When we left, I asked my daughter how her food was. She had ordered the squash/lobster bisque and the chesapeake benedict. She enjoyed her soup, but was not pleased with the benedict. I later asked my sister what she thought, and she was disappointed as well. My sister has been there for lunch and really liked it before. Given the competition in RTC, I won't be back for brunch. If someone invites me there for a different meal, I'll probably give it another try, but not of my own volition.
I love PassionFish in general and have just discovered what a good, reasonable brunch they have. Highly recommended and a great way to eat at this restaurant for a reasonable price.
As always it was a stellar meal. Scallops, lobster curry and brussel sprouts were outstanding. We.sat at the bar and the service was fantastic. We even received great vacation suggestions.
Restaurant Week menu is quite good at PassionFish. Service was excellent on a busy night. Muscadet wine is very good with fish.
Disappointed that they do not serve Albariño or Vermentino, both excellent seafood wines.
Great service from checking my coat from the General Manager checking in at our table. Will come again!
It was Friday during restaurant week, so they were very busy. We had John as our waiter again, and he was excellent. Very personable and knowledge, kept things moving along without rushing or lagging. The butternut squash lobster bisque was excellent, and the Arctic char (like trout salmon hybrid) was delicious with the verde sauce. Pumpkin cheesecake for dessert also very good. My only quibble was that the hurricane cocktail has shrunk in size while increasing in price ($14) and wasn’t mixed well. All the alcohol was on top and was too harsh.
Absolutely the best. We love this restaurant. Probably best know of its fish dishes, the NY strip I had was outstanding!
