Pausa Bar & Cookery
Great dining experience!!
I would go here again, but mainly for the wine and the appetizers! I think we just chose the wrong entrees, I wasn't really wowed by the risotto I selected, but I loved our server and the wine. Also, we're from the city and know loud restaurants - I was surprised at how loud this spot was even on a Tuesday night. Just good to be aware of.
Expensive for what you get. Pasta that is nothing special, should not cost $25. I do not understand the hype of this place. Food mediocre at best and service was not impressive. Not going back.
Attentive service. delicious food. it was a birthday dinner and your staff made us feel special and enjoy our meals.
We’ve been here before and really enjoyed it. This time was awful food, everything was super salty and not good. Sent two of the 3 dishes back. Pretty sure we won’t be back as this was awful food
Service-food-presentation-wine list-decor : OUTSTANDING on every level
Thank you for a great evening$$$
Food was great but service was rather condescending.
One of our favorites. Had the basil tagliolini pasta and a pizza. That pasta was superb!
it was a great experience for all five first time diners. WE WILL RECOMMEND IT AGAIN.
It's loud there -- very loud. If you don't like EDM, don't go. But the food is outstanding. Tonight I had what literally is one of the best fish dishes I have ever eaten in my life. The desserts are always amazing. Their housemade cured meats are amazing. They have an amazing selection of outstanding wines by the glass.
Have I said "amazing" enough? If you appreciate good food, go there. It isn't cheap, but the food is worth every penny.
This was my third time at Pausa and I remain impressed with the excellent, friendly service and good food. It works well for either pleasure or business meals. As a vegetarian, I really appreciate that I have multiple choices on the menu.
I found everything to be great except for the background music. Too loud to have a conversation with the person next to you. And I didn't like the kind of music being played - I felt like I was in a club. For an authentic Italian restaurant (which it is), maybe they could consider playing ITALIAN MUSIC at a reasonable noise level in the background?
Carlos is the most amazing ever. Truly!
Portion are small food is ok, nothing special and for sure no value for money.
Went to Pausa for lunch. I had the chopped salad which was just ok. The compressed cucumbers had a strange consistency. The dressing, while it binded the ingredients together, was pretty tasteless and boring. The waitress kept coming by to hurry me up so she could bring my tab. Ditto with the table next to me. That was unnecessary and annoying. I keep coming ba k hoping it will improve byt it never does.
Great place but it’s very pricey for everyday dinning
Better the second time...it was just awful the first time.
The food was excellent, and the staff was very accommodating to making any requested changes to dishes. I loved the burrata and bruschetta appetizers! My friends and I shared the margherita pizza (YUM), and 2 of their vegetarian pasta dishes--also delicious. I have to say I was most impressed with the appetizers and wine though. I was recommended a light, red wine similar to a pinot noir (just what I was looking for), and it was delicious. It's called "Etna Rosso", and I highly recommend it! I tried a sip of my friend's "pisco punch" which was also delicious. It's fairly loud in the restaurant, but you can still talk at your table at a comfortable volume and hear each other easily. The ambience and interior design is sleek, but also romantic. This is a great date night spot, or a fun place to catch dinner with friends!
Good food! Great service!
One of my favorite restaurants. Awesome experience every time. Great service.
We had a party of seven for a small baby shower. Our server was excellent and the food was very good. Most of the group had not been there before and all said they would be back! Drinks are delicious and creative and so is the food!
Too noisy to have a conversation. We have eaten here before and had great food. Maybe we didn't order well, but we were disappointed this time.
Pizza tomato sauce is too salty, crust is too thin and over priced.
Took friends to lunch because I love this place. Food delicious and great service! Had this server before and she is terrific! Love the interior of the building. Modern but warm! Thank you!
Went late on holiday weekend so restaurant cleared out around 9:30-10 which was sooner than expected. Consequently, was a little disappointed with atmosphere.
Food was good. Servers were very knowledgeable. Needed to turn the music down. Was hard to hear conversation.
The service was very good. Kayla, our server, was attentive and thoughtful with her recommendations. She really knew her stuff.
The highlights from the meal were the salumi of which all of it was cured in house which is a rarity. The pork chop was tender and flavorful with just enough fat rendered on the outside of the meat to make every bite a joy. The bone marrow was as you’d expect. Overall just very good food. And that wine! Truly amazing.
The 15-min grace period for the reservation shows that they know the neighborhood well considering what could be for some folks an endless search for parking.
Will go there again if the opportunity presents itself.
It was gyood. Prett kewl place
Everything was delicious. Portions were too small which equates to cost being too high as one needed to order more dishes. There were 8 adults, no alcohol, bill over $400 and some of several of us left hungry.
We had my daughter's birthday dinner and choose to sit outside. The service was very attentive and the food was delicious. We were very impressed with the quality of the food and will certainly come back.
Went here for the first time with my husband, son , sister in-law and brother in-law. The restaurant atmosphere is very nice... the food was good, Italian with a twist! Our waiter very helpful and patient! Lol!
Had the pasta extremely salty. Sent it back. They remade it in unsalted water didn’t make much of a difference. Service was very nice we sat at the bar.
Simply outstanding. I have dined at Pausa since it opened, but this was my first experience with the Chef's Table. I will be back time and time again. What as amazing experience with expertly paired wines, creative cuisine, authentic ingredients and professional execution by Chef Andrea.
The restaurant is nice and the food was good. The menu changed since my last visit so I was disappointed when the item I wanted wasn’t available. Overall, a good dining experience.
Appreciate the attention to detail, the Happy Birthday menu, attentive service, good food and drinks, and birthday dessert! Thank you!
great menu, great service, a little loud, but we are always going to come back
Twice they told us we had two hours to finish the first time we gave them a pass and ate there gave a substantial tip hoping to get better reception next time but it was the same on 10/4/19 so we walked out.
Only complaint was difficultly finding parking.
