Pera Turkish Kitchen & Bar
Overall, we loved Pera. The Mezza appetizer was wonderful. The Mediterranean Chicken Stew was delicious. One of the three entrees, a chicken dish, was overcooked though. When we brought it to their attention, they comped us 4 best ever baklava deserts. We’ll be back
Taste is classic Turkish couisne . I would recommend everyone.
Pera is a gem. High quality, authentic food, excellently prepared to order. Fresh homemade bread is a bonus. Attentive, professional service.
Excellent food, welcoming host, beautiful Turkish music on soundtrack.
Pera has upped it's GAME and it's an A+. Did you know they have a restaurant in Istanbul? This is AUTHENTIC Turkish cuisine (middle eastern at its best.) Check it out!
We have been here 4x and each time the food has been authentic and amazing. From the Meze selection to the lamp kebabs to the lamb shank, everything is exceptional. Our waitress was adorable. They have outdoor seating but the restaurant has to ability to open the large windows in the front of the restaurant so even if you cant get a seat outside, you still feel as if you are outside. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Generally very fine. However, we miss having our Manti and urge Pera to put it back on their menu.
I'm very lucky to have a great Turkish restaurant in my neighborhood. I've been here twice, dining outside the first time and indoors the second, and both offered a warm, friendly environment. Both times I had the bronzino (sea bass) because it's prepared so well with the fish grilled and served in an orange mushroom sauce with mashed potatoes. For an appetizer, they served us a bean dip at no charge and we also ordered the Pera hummus with beets, both served with homemade bread made in house. Both are delicious with mild seasoning, but the bean dip was preferred by my four friends and me. The feta salad was large so we shared it. My friends order chicken kababs, lamb and beef dishes, and all were pleased with their meals, and because of the generous portions, we all asked for to-go boxes. Wine choices are nice. A great way to end the meal it to share the traditional baklava served with vanilla ice cream along with a cup of Turkish coffee. I often think baklava is too sweet, but this was not - probably the best I've ever had. We also shared another dessert that had a crumble topping and a gooey cheese in the middle that was excellent too. This place is becoming a neighborhood favorite when I don't want to travel far for a nice meal with friendly service.
wow what a difference a day makes, returned to this place because my tues nite experience was so great
friday was so different
had lunch menus, and an expired special dinner menu
i had to ask for the correct menu
the service was so so slow and wait for the food to come out was much longer
no thank you tea at the end of the meal,
not sure if this was an off night or the way the place will be on the weekends
the food was still excellent but will only return on a week nite and hope its back to good
wow what a nice surprise! super food went with a vegetarian and we had so so many yummy choices
excellent attentive service
we will be back
Absolutely amazing food! Felt like I was in Turkey!
Amazing food, classy-quiet neighborhood gem, impeccable service. A+
This was our first try of Turkish cuisine, and we really loved it. There's great variety on the menu, and our choices from the chef's specials were delicious and very flavorful. The service staff was very helpful guiding us through the menu. It's nice that the restaurant can go open air when the weather allows. We will definitely go back.
Always Wonderful! The outside seating was beautiful on the warm spring night.
Beautiful place with a great value breakfast. We didn't sit at their patio, but it's absolutely gorgeous!
Eaten there twice and meals were great and presentation pleasing.
I brought 3 guests and we all loved it. I’ve been a couple times and 2 of my friends have been to Turkey, where I lived the last 7 years. We had the mixed meze starter. Borek. Feta salad. Lamb shank and two other lamb kebab plates. Everything was perfect. Turkish red wine as well.
Great food, wonderful service and good atmosphere with large open windows and patio.
Was my second time there. The first time was really awesome with a violinist and the food was excellent. The second experience was also good but the food was not so good like the first time.
We had a casual date the night before and we decided to go aorta Turkish kitchen by friend Recommendation
I’m surprise that I have not been in this beautiful restaurant before 5 star ⭐️
Food is so Delicious try chicken Santa Sofia ( staffed chicken with almond and figs yummmy. Great spot in lake view
We had the ezma appetizer, which was spiced in a flavorful way. Our entrees included the stuffed eggplant, the filet mignon, and the stuffed zucchini--all delicious combinations of textures and flavors, and presented in beautiful arrangements on the plates. In addition, our
Consistently good food and service. Good prices and full bar.
Our new go to spot for great food and terrific service.
Such great food!! Best chicken kabob I’ve ever had.
Great neighborhood spot with tasty dishes and friendly service.
All was wonderful. Only comment was my chicken was dry in the Mesopotamia chicken. The sauce made up for it.
Food is phenomenal! Just go very relaxed and without afterward commitments as they will take forever... But the food is worth the wait.
I love Pera, great food, home made bread, impressively cheap for the quality. Thumbs up!
I went here with my family to celebrate two birthdays, and the whole experience at Pera was great! Delicious food, great service, and they even gave us dessert and teawhich made it that much more special. I will undoubtedly be coming back to try everything else in the menu.
The food is great, but some of our orders were forgotten at first.
Always great food
We visited during a trip into the City. Food was very authentic and service was excellent. Having been to Turkey a few times, I felt the food was excellent, presentation nice and service even better than Turkey.
Overall a very nice experience with great food and wine.
The food and service were excellent. I came with 4 other friends. I live half time in Istanbul so I know my Turkish food. We share some starters. The octopus was perfectly cooked. We shared some of the lamb main dishes which were all great. The lamb was perfectly done. A couple homemade desserts topped the meal. Turkish wine and all in all we are ready to return again.
very nice place; food is great, service was excellent; all organic eggs- perfect
Excellent authentic Turkish cuisine with a southern Turkish cuisine influence. Great welcoming staff and service. Reasonably priced wine.
Service was very slow. Out of two dishes ordered, two main ingredients were missing. Food quality leaves much to be desired. It's a neighborhood joint, used to be so good. That was my last time trying it. Lately, consistently downhill. Very sad it couldn't keep the quality it started with.
Terrible service awful octopus
The food was delicious, can't go wrong with the kabobs, but loved the lamb shank, potatoes and stuffed zucchini. That homemade bread and baklava - yum! Kind, gentle excellent service all led to a wonderful meal. I would definitely go back.
The food was excellent and the service was superb.
Excellent food. Very friendly service. Lovely atmosphere . Neighborhood gem.
