Our meal was gourmet! We had appetizer main dessert each dish was delicious. Our friends are foodies and they found everything over the top. The wine list is impressive! We will be back.

Outdoor dining was very nice. In the woods behind the restaurant we were able to see deer! The staff tried to accommodate us on the chilly evening with the outdoor heaters. Food was delicious, highly recommend the beef short rib with polenta.
Would prefer printed menus as my phone couldn't bring up the menu. Looking at a menu is part of a very nice restaurant experience. We were seated outside and there were two men having a violent argument (for several minutes) just across the street. None of the folks from the restaurant were outside while it took place so it felt a little dangerous for diners. It definitely took away from the dining experience.
Limited published menu was further limited—no warm soups—which was difficult on this chilly afternoon.

Outside seating was appreciated. Food quality was very good, and presentation was excellent. However, despite the friendliness of all the wait staff, service was consistently disorganized and frustrating. We had to ask repeatedly for basic items over and over again.
I enjoy the excellent food quality, service, view, and ambiance. It took me back to a Michelin Star experience.
Timely reservation. Tiny table. No room for a wine menu and wine glass. Exacerbated by the miserable service. At every table customers waited for finished plates to be removed, and they sat even after patrons left. I examined the wine menu, ordered a 2017 zin from the list. The waiter returned with a 2019 and said» I could not find the 2017, would this be ok?» At $90/bottle, I think not.
Therefore, I ordered the 2013 bottle of Barbera D’Asti from the list and he retuned with a 2016 bottle and asked again»…» My roasted chicken was good, the deserts also good. My wife’s Wild Salmon was flavorless. Sorry, but it’s the plain truth, and Inreally was hoping for a great date evening dinner, and a great restaurant in Aptos. Disappointed with the culinary option. The company was excellent.

Persephone is a delightful place to eat. Restful and quiet environment with exciting and interesting food, a great combination.
We have been there 4 or 5 times and have always loved the food. This time,however, we were disappointed. The food and even the dessert were bland and average. I had what they called stuffed eggplant and it was a ridiculously small portion that had almost no flavor. It should have been called an appetizer and not a full dinner plate. My husband's salad was also small and quite ordinary. We used to love this restaurant but was not happy with our recent experience.
Overall our dining experience was wonderful!! The food was amazing. The service was a little Slow. We will definitely consider this restaurant again for a special occasion.
What a treat it was to eat here! Toni was such a gracious host and the food was mind blowing delicious. I cannot wait to go back for dinner.

So creative, so delicious! We enjoyed a wine pairing dinner that was absolutely perfect.
The food and service were fabulous. The watermelon gazpacho with burrata and parmesan budino with summer squash were imaginative takes on familiar dishes and were delicious. Hope to return sometime soon.
A lot of road noise while eating outside but best meal in Aptos. Staff was exceptionally nice and attentive.
Our server ignored us most of the night.
He also sold us on salmon special and then brought halibut and didn’t realize that was the special instead. It was tasteless.
The watermelon gazpacho was very good.
Will not come back.
Our server Toni was just perfect. We do enjoyed our experience with her and the parm custard was incredible. We will be back soon!

We sat by an open window. It was refreshing except when we could smell someone smoking. The parmasian appetizer was excellent along with the Caperitif Spritz. Our salads were also excellent. I had the mixed green and Caesar. My short ribs were very good. My spouse had Tortiglioni, it was ok, kind of bland in appearance. Our dessert were excellent.Fudge brownie and Panna Cotta.
Delicious! The wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed but they were super accommodating when I called in advance to say we would be a few minutes late.
Enjoyed dining there for our anniversary. They moved our middle of the isle table to a window table when we asked. Very accommodating. Food & wine were excellent. Service good. We were checked on several times. Very nice experience.
The busboy needs training. He startled us when he came to remove dishes when everyone was not finished. The staff at Mentone were matching tee shirts which looks neater than a loose sweater!! The waitress needs to have more confidence. I was surprised when she informed us the fish arrives prepackaged!

We've eaten at Peresephone a number of times over the years. It's been our go to for special occasions. We've brought friends there. We've recommended it. Last night was PERFECT. Best yet. We brought foodie friends from SF and sat comfortably outside. Everything we ate was DELICIOUS, and the service was outstanding. Kudos to Brooklyn and the other young woman whose name I didn't get. And to the FABULOUS chef. We'll be back soon, and we won't wait for a special occasion.
Food is unbelievably good!! All local, fresh ingredients. Love the atmosphere- quiet and overlooking trees/brush. Service cannot be beat. We're definitely going back anytime we're in town!
Only sandwich for lunch menu
Lunch is just sandwiches - but tasty ones, and not expensive. Service friendly and effective. Outdoor ambiance (like most of them, to be fair) is comfortable but uninspiring. The server didn't know what the house Chardonnay was, but I don't recommend it.
We had eaten before and had excellent service and went back for B'day dinner. Sad service from the server who either had no training or was suffering from mental health issues. Even though it is a beautiful spot and the food is ok/good the service made for a disappointing experience. Also bright young man so eager to bus and bring boxes while we were still eating was one of several things that made it feel like we were getting the bums rush even though we were there a 5:15pm. Comments like "are you still working on that?" or "I see you are still noodling with your food" are not really appreciated. Some of staff sloppily dressed:((
We felt the waitress was not so knowledgeable about the menu. Also, she brought the wrong wine to our table - glad we caught it before she opened it. And brought the main course way too soon. Probably 10 minutes after she brought an appetizer. The timing was way off. We had to send them back. The beef short rib was delicious! The food was good and we would try to visit again.
Amazing food...never disappoints! It’s a must if you’re in Aptos!
Overall 4 stars only because two of the four main courses were sold out by the time of our 8:15 reservation (all we could get at the last minute on a Saturday night), as were several of the appetizer courses and desserts. I understand why that occurs as a smaller restaurant with locally sourced and daily made food cannot make too much of every special dish, but just be aware. We’ve dined at Persephone several times and find it to be wonderful.

This was a wine pairing experience with Ridge Winery which showcased some fantastic wines. It also displayed a very good selection of menu items for pairing and despite a really good turnout the staff handled the hustle and bustle really well.
The Winemakers Dinner was a 5-course delight, each dish delicious, beautiful and well-matched with wine. Sometimes surprising combinations of ingredients looked good and tasted even better. Looking forward to next time!
