Arrived for my OpenTable reservation on Valentines Day to find the restaurant dark and closed.
Made a confirmed booking at Petit Marlowe. Arrived on time and was told that there's a private event so my booking is cancelled. They said OpenTable should not have been taking reservations. Petit Marlowe claims to have called everyone to inform them but I didn't receive any calls (in fact, I got a text asking me to confirm my booking which I did). The restaurant employee said we can go to Marlow so I asked if a table there is confirmed for us and if so, at what time. He reluctantly agreed to call Marlowe then told me to stand outside while he called them bec I couldn't be inside! Stand outside? Really? Treated so rudely when this mess up was completely on them and OpenTable!
The restaurant cancelled all reservations without notifying their customers because of a corporate booking. We watched 4 other couples get turned away without any assistance. They blamed Open Table stating that date was supposed to have blocked out. Open Table appears to be oblivious to this debacle. I will never book at Petit Marlowe again and I will no longer use Open Table.
Despite receiving emails confirming the reservation, when we got to the restaurant, we were informed they were closed for a private event. No explanation provided.
We had a dinner reservation for 5:00 pm on a recent Thursday evening, confirmed through OpenTable. When we arrived there was a sign on the door stating the restaurant was closed for a private party. No correspondence about our reservation, no attention from the wait staff clearly visible through the front door, NOTHING. We'll never go back and I'll tell anyone who asks to stay FAR away from this LOUSY establishment.
Arrived for my 5pm reservation only to be told that the restaurant was closed for a private event!! No notification whatsoever. Will never ever patronize this restaurant in the future.
Enjoyed oysters, Steak, escargot, salad. All wonderful. Risotto left us wanting better. Otherwise everything was great!

We had a reservation with Open Table, but the restaurant booked a private event and declined to seat us. They said they moved our reservation to their sister restaurant, but it didn’t have room when we got there.
Food really salty.
It was a good experience except for the food. Th salad with the grilled cheese and sauces with the filet and chicken dishes were insanity salty-
Slow service. No quality check on any food or drinks. Steak over cooked scallops undercooked. Three different servers with no communication about going on a break. Employees eating at the table beside us which would not normally be a problem but with no service it was frustrating. The bar tender seemed to be working really hard and was friendly but overwhelmed as he had the whole bar and all the tables.
I know they couldn't help it, but it was stifling hot in the restaurant the day we were there. A very hot day for SF but perhaps an attempt to combat the stuffiness (fans, etc.). But the food was exquisite and that was the most important thing!

GREAT oysters. Nice cafe feel, good ambiance. Champagne drinks were very well balanced.
Petit Marlowe is a nice place to snack and hang out. It has a Euro flair, some unique French-inspired dishes, and a nice selection of continental wines. We have stopped there for snacks after afternoon ball games and enjoyed it a lot. This time we stopped there before a night game, and learned a couple of things. On a rare hot day in SF, the air conditioning is not so good. Also, we arrived at 5:15, we were practically the only guests, yet the service was very poor. Even though they are open at 5:00, it seems like the crowd most of the employees don't show up until 6:00. By the time we left, there was a crowd and lots of workers. So, most of the time, it is probably fine. The food was very good.
Was noisy like a train station, smell of burn cheese from the grill all over the room. Couldn’t even touch the clothes the day after they was smelling like s*it!

This was my fourth visit; for the other three I had sat at the bar and had oysters, wine, and then main courses. Always had been superb. This time I booked a table and took a dear friend, who had never been. This visit was a disaster (!). We put in our order for a dozen oysters as soon as we sat down and ordered wine, but after 15 mins, no oysters had showed up, so I asked. The waiter (who smelled like he had just been out back lighting up joint) said that he had but in the order "out of order" and thus would be mind having our main course before the oysters. No, we would not. So, more waiting. The oysters arrived (finally) and there were only 11 on the plate. By this time the manager was involved and he was apologetic and offered to comp us our dessert (not that we had wanted to have desert). Besides that, the waiter took control of our wine bottle and we had to repeatedly flag him down and point at our empty wine classes. When our first main course came (the stuffed courgette blooms), it was a disappointment: not a lot of taste for a lot of money. On the bright side, the crab melt was stunning (!!!!), and the manager brought us two extra oysters to make up for the missing ones. This was one of my favorite drop in places. Perhaps best to sit at the bar and avoid the incompetent, stoned waitstaff...esp, when the final bill came in at $160.
Loud, ventilation and air circulation could be better. Our server was great and accommodating. Only one oyster type, disappointing. Will be back in Hope's that more variety on oysters
Visited this restaurant while visiting SF due to a recommendation of strangers. We had a great experience. Food was tasty. I believe the chicken was a bit salty but cooked perfectly. The scallops were excellent. Definitely a nice place worth checking out.
Absolutely the best Hospitality we've ever experienced.
I think the main course portions were tiny for the price. Scallops 5 pieces or so, tiny plate, small serving. Filet Mignon nothing less, look's like a appetizers. With two glasses of wine, one appetizer, two entree's, a round of a dozen oysters at the happy hour rate of 1.50$, and then one dessert and a coffee, the bill came to 177$. That's too much, if the portions were more generous, I'd have no problem but it's heavily overpriced, and probably great to just have a drink/app's at the bar and call it a night. Won't be returning - overrated, overpriced and under whelming in portions.
Our experience at Petit Marlow was SHOCKINGLY terrible. Our rsvp was 730. We were sat and greeted promptly. We ordered within 20 minutes . Our wine and oysters came out as expected. But then it all fell apart. 50 minutes later our appetizer and salad were no where to be seen. After multiple inquiries no one seemed to know what was happening! Finally our salad arrives 9pm. The main courses 915 almost 2 hrs later and cold. A medium rare steak and scallops brought to the table barely warm. At this point we just sent it back and got the hell out. What a mess!!!
Really cute and cozy ambiance, definitely a smaller restaurant so would recommend making reservations! The food was really delicious - we tried the oysters, Hamachi Crudo, Di Stefano Burrata and the crab melt.
Dined there for Mother’s Day. Fun menu, great service. Would recommend.
Unique menu options, beautiful presentation and great service
Great happy hour - $1.50 oyster and $25 bottle of rose, yum! Also a fan of the cheese board and dessert menu. Friendly staff, beautiful space and great music. Can't wait to go back.

I love everything about this cute little place. It reminds me of paris! From the food , to our waiter , everything was excellent. Very romantic place.
Food: overpriced and overdressed. The burrata and the arugula was over dressed with sauce and very salty. The deviled egg was half of a mini egg for 3$. We ordered a main entree, but that never came and was asked if we’d like to order dessert. We had a charcuterie plate(more like salami with arugula) a burrata dish, skipped the main entree because it was too late and instead had dessert with a couple glasses of wine. Still spent 100$ for an incomplete dinner.
Service: couldn’t even find a host to check in, so we sat at the bar. Even after telling someone that we were checking in, they continued to seat us at the bar a good 20 min. I had to tell our bartender that we had reserved a table once again because he asked if we’d like to order a meal.
I’m hesitant about giving five stars across the board if for no other reason, few places actually deserve that (Petit Marlowe would’ve close) and while I wish them every possible business success, we enjoyed being able to make a last minute reservation.
This is a bistro. Nothing more, certainly nothing less. But, they get everything right with the sort of quality food, plating, and service that you expect at a much more exclusive, much more costly restaurant.
Delicious food. Especially enjoyed the beet salad. Cute place. Relaxed atmosphere.
On an early Friday evening this was a great place to catch up with a friend for a chat, wine, and a few bites.
All of the seafood and starters are delicious. Get the warm bread and butter!

The place looked promising when we walked in with a lively crowd squeezed comfortably into a quaint bistro setting. From there, things went downhill a bit though. The waitstaff seemed burdened and had difficulty paying proper attention to our table, and the quality of the food didn't live up to the potential we thought it had when reading the menu. I think the place would be great for a drink and some oysters but recommend avoiding it for a full meal...
