Pialligo Estate Garden Pavilion
Just love Pialligo Estate
As usual the service, small plates and large were outstanding ! On this occasion unfortunately the desserts were not up to the usual standard :( but this will not deter us from visiting again infact we will be there again this Sunday for lunch !
Great food in beautiful surroundings, can’t ask for more
Very nice venue to dine. Food was good but perhaps a tad expensive... worth a visit though as the ambience is nice and the staff attentive.
I was worried about being cold given it is winter, but the covered central area and heaters were so toasty warm that we were actually taking off jackets/sweaters. The food was amazing and I have been telling all my friends how wonderful it was
Our meal was outstanding. Especially the part and gravlax. So good. Lovely warm ambiance and service. Beautiful location.
The restaurant was good however was a little disappointed with the winery. The website alluded to a smokehouse but I found out there that it wasn't the case. Also did not have a cellar door. So if you are after those additional features not just restaurant, then it's not for you. But food and ambience of the restaurant itself was fantastic.
Brilliant, had a wonderful time.
Great food great service, excellent service.
Loved every minute of it. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. If your looking for a special night out, this is the place to go.
This was the first time we have dined at the new restaurant area. It was beautifully warm and we were slightly mystified why the small ex pavilion Area to the right was filled with diners, while other tables in the main restaurant were left empty. This contributed to noise level. We enjoyed the food, especially the shoulder of lamb. Disappointed that we were denied a container to take home the leftovers.
We appreciated the paddock to plate deliciously cooked vegetables and fruit crumble.
I didn't notice an open fire if there is one.
We will definitely be back!
The girl serving us was lovely but the food took a very very long time to come and while the lamb dish was a bit special the rest of the food was fine but not really anything to write home about.
Though the food was delicious, the overall experience of dining for lunch at the pavilion was not. The reasons were:
1. Table we were placed at was like an after thought table - in the walk way out to the function marquee. As a result, the door was constantly left open, people came in and out often on a cold almost winters day 26 May 2019.
2. The heater was placed too close to our table - because we were in a corridor in effect. It was so hot that one of the customers on the other side of the heater turned it off!
3. The sun light form the windows up in the ceiling glared down on us and we had to move a table back - still in the walk way area though!
4. The food, though delicious, came after a very long time. A couple who arrived well after us received their food quickly. When I queried this I was told they ordered only entrees. This was not true - they ordered nothing else, left before our food arrived and had actually ordered form the small plates menu.
Our family considers Pialligo Estate our go to place for special occasion events. We’ve also been to at least one of the cooking classes and high tea. On this visit, we found the service a little lacking. No wine list provided until after we asked for it and no one came to see if we wanted a second drink. The food was ok, but not the usual amazing quality we’ve come to expect. We also noticed that the lovely leather and wooden chairs have been replaced with metal ones. These are cold and really uncomfortable! We would have stayed for more drinks and desert but just weren’t feeling the usual lovely experience we’d come to expect so left early to go elsewhere.
Loved the new garden pavilion restaurant, the atmosphere was beautiful. The service was okay, had to ask for water quite a few times, food and drinks took a while (wasn’t super busy either) and was all extremely very salty (and I love salt!!). Overall it was lovely though.
Service was really slow. The waitresses were nice, but forgot a drink order and didn't bring water to the table. Seriously over priced food.
So welcoming, the correct degree of attentiveness and fabulous food, not to mention the amazing outlook and country feel. Only 5 minutes from home. Perfect!
Food was delicious and our waiter Liam was very attentive
Fantastic food, and decent value. Unfortunately we were brought the wrong food initially, then the wrong bill, and then I had to ask for my change. The ambience was good with nice background music, just the service that lets Pialligo Estate down.
The service was fantastic, great atmosphere and food was amazing.
First visit for lunch of slow cooked lamb and very passable ACT Shiraz on a clear autumn day. A real haven close to the city. Good service and atmosphere. Prices reasonable too. Only negative is plastic blinds lowered made it uncomfortably warm.
No ambiance, pasta was dry and tasteless, dessert was decent. Lots of great restaurants in Canberra, recommend going elsewhere
The food was nice, however the service was not too impressive. We were greeted at the door and then the hostess just wandered away without telling us to follow and then came back looking annoyed that we hadn’t followed her. The staff wasn’t particularly rude but for the rest of the night we continued to feel as if it was a bother to serve us. The lamb was amazing and we may brace ourselves for another visit just to have that again.
We love eating at Pialligo and really enjoyed its new feel. Just wish the room could have been warmer and some background music would have helped the almost too quiet atmosphere.
My Husband and I found the menu just too limiting, with little choice. Our food was rushed to us, we had just put our folks down from our entire when our main arrived. It was a very cold evening and therefore the food was then cold before we had the chance to eat it. Our Waitress was very odd. She would place the food inroant of us without speaking and then pop up while we were in the middle of a conversation and just speak over us.
However, The music was wonderful and the best part of the evening.
Brilliant restaurant. Beautiful restaurant and location. Food was delicious and service spot on!
It’s the kind of place that you leave and can’t wait to take other people to.
Food and surroundings are stunning. We will be taking friends who visit from out of town to give them a great experience of Canberra.
Pialligo Estate Garden Pavilion is a beautiful setting no matter the weather outside. The food is absolutely delicious and fantastic value for money. The desert was to die for. I will definitely keep dining there. And, the girls that serve us were very friendly and efficient. Fantastic place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
I was recommended this place by a colleague and it exceeded all expectations. Very impressive as we brought friends from Sydney who loved it.
Excellent food and great service. I will definitely be going back to try other dishes on the menu.
There was a delay with mains due to putting plate on wrong table. Waiter offered a round of drinks. Nice gesture.
This is my second time I have been to the estate since learning of the venue in February, I live in Sydney, so will make it a regular stop whenever I am in Canberra. We had the brunch which was beautiful.
This place is so frustrating. It was our second time to visit (within the last 6 months), and both times the food has been very good but the service really poor. Really, really poor. Pialligo charges premium prices for its products, so expectations are high. Unfortunately, arrogant, aloof, disorganised waitstaff have ruined our experiences. Won't be going back anytime soon.
The place is stunning and the ambience is great. Children friendly too. The food is good but not great. I would still recommend the restaurant to friends. Our family enjoyed our time. I will definitely go back
We use to really love going coming to Pilliago, however were disappointed after this last visit - it did not appear that you had enough staff on and staff were rushed, we felt like we were bothering staff, staff seemed unaccomodating to a request for a vegetarian option or order additional drinks and we were hurried out after we finished our meal, provided the bill before we had finished and were asked to leave due to another booking before we had finished our drinks when we had booked a table.
Disappointed in the level of service and treatment of customers.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Pialligo Estate last Sunday. The service was excellent, the food was excellent and the setting was just lovely. We will certainly be going back.
Arrived 12:00, main arrived 1:22. Understand that it was a very full Sunday. May try again on a week day.
The atmosphere was very relaxing and we were made to feel welcome by the attentive and friendly wait staff.
Four of us got the two course brunch which included coffee/tea, which we all agreed was excellent value for money at $35 per person. I had the buttermilk pancakes which had well balanced flavours, and the generous estate breakfast which comes with delicious Pialligo bacon and sausage.
Would highly recommend to anyone.
Perfect for a special night out. We went for our anniversary and the setting was spectacular watching the sunset over black mountain; magic. Food was amazing and the staff were friendly, knowledge and very attentive.
A lovely venue tucked away in picturesque part of Canberra, the food and cocktails were yummy, definitely will be returning for another visit when next in Canberra.
A wonderful relaxing with great ambience and fabulous food choices. WE are return customers.
We had a lovely brunch and received friendly & prompt service. Thank you, a very easy and relaxing experience!
