Tables for two appear to be only in the lobby/bar or hallway at small high top tables that won’t even accommodate 2 individual pizzas. Besides the cold air from the doors, it was like being seated in a main thoroughfare with customers and waiters constantly walking through. All the food was cold. Service was slow, though based on current conditions I wouldn’t blame the waitstaff, who seemed to be trying their best.
Great remodel opened up the bar area with a refresh! Service was really great, food was good and the view is always awesome.
The meal was interesting but uncomplicated and superbly delicious. The service really was caring and very efficient. I like the more comfortable feel of the remodeled dining room. The bar area is more sophisticated than it was before, better thought out. It seems as though the acoustics were improved significantly. I am glad Piatti has reopened and it will be a first-thought choice.
The food was delicious and service was good. We sat at a bar table next to the window. Great location but the new bar tables are way too small for two to eat dinner. The old bar tables had enough room to eat at. We struggled to make room for the bread we ordered, the dip, our two cocktails, water glasses and our salads. We had to put the water bottle on the railing and they had to take our bread plates away.
We have been going to Piatti for years. This was the first time in 9 maths we've been there since it completed the renovations which took over 6 months.
Piatti lost most of its staff and is now struggling to attend to its customers.
Service was patchy, food was medium and overall experience pretty disappointing.
I have been a client of yours for over 20 years. I am aware that there is a shortage of employees. So my criticism is meant to be positive. Carmello was our waiter, I believe. Very nice and friendly person. But he failed to pay any attention to us after taking our order. When the food arrived, we ordered another round of cocktails which arrived after we were done eating. That is not right.
Otherwise no problems and we will be back.
I booked a standard table but when we arrived the hostess (who was not even 18) tried to put us in the bar area and I said no. When she eventually put us in the main dining room she acted like she was doing us a favor when I booked in the main dining room? The waiter was nice but didn't chat with us about the new menu, food, or remodel, etc. He just wanted to take our order and that's it. He seemed spread too thin. The food was good, but he couldn't answer a simple question about the wine list (if they have any red blends), so clearly they haven't trained their wait staff. Their new chairs in both the bar and main dining room are uncomfortable (when we spotted them that's why we didn't want to sit in the bar). After a remodel, new menu, and reopening we left disappointed.
Some small changes. Interior layout much better. Nicely refreshed!
Attentive staff. Good food, as always!
We came 30 minutes early but were still accommodated right away. We were served by a very warm and friendly waiter who made the experience feel personal. The views were amazing.
Service was excellent. Wait staff trying hard to please.
Pasta (bucatini) was WAY over-sauced...more sauce than pasta!
You need a salad option with dark (healthy) greens.
Wine list short and pricey...especially whites.
The Piatti pre-renovation had lovely pastas, not drowning in sauce, nice salad options and a more varied winelist,
I found everything wonderful about Piatti, a place I've gone to for years. The remodel is very attractive, the food superlative. Ursula went above and beyond and was thoroughly professional The one thing that continues to be bothersome is the noise level. The place is very "bright," and even though "noise" might be rumored to attract customers, there are a number of us that are actually repelled by it, where it becomes too difficult to have a decent conversation because of 1) noisy diners, 2) no noise buffers (i.e., carpets, drapes, sound-absorbing panels). I'm sure I would be coming more frequently (I can see my place from Piatti's windows) if I didn't have to struggle so much to hear my dining partner. Something you might consider.
We had reservations, yet we wound up at a small table with too high chairs. Made us all feel as if we were sitting in the bar area. Really uncomfortable. Two of us were going to order soup but changed our minds as we felt it would be difficult to eat with the table so low down. The people around us (sitting at similar tables) were also complaining how uncomfortable they were. Noise level made it very difficult to hear each other at the table. We had not been back to Piatti since they reopened. Not sure we are going back. Food was mediocre. Our waiter was overwhelmed but at least he made an effort.
The lighting, food, music, and service were outstanding!!
The restaurant remodel was needed & turned out to be wonderful. The staff is very polite & attentive. Food is quite good. That’s what we look for in any restaurant. We will return often.
Great food… We had a lovely time lovely meal… Enjoyed the whole restaurant… Beautiful place… Good service
After a perusal of the menu 2 glasses of wine were chosen as well as the little gem salad & pappardelle with braised beef sugo to share. The salad was good although could have used a few more apple slices. The pasta was very light then with the addition of very savory tender beef was very satisfying & filling. 2 cups of decaf finished the evening. Very busy @ 5:45 with active engaged crowd.
Good food and service - updated dining and bar area...
The ambiance and presentation were great, our waiter was very nice and friendly and accommodating. My only issues were that he didn’t check on us periodically (maybe because it was Friday night?) and the food was just okay. I raved about the food from the last time I ate here (before pandemic) and my friends were all disappointed in the food. Portions have definitely shrunk, compared to the prices. The drinks were less than good, actually quite disappointing. I used to love the Moscow mules, and now they taste bland and watered down. Not great for $12 for a small drink. One of my friends had a margarita and she was disappointed as well. I’m hoping these things will improve, but I won’t be coming back for a while, until I hear that it has gone back to how it was before the pandemic.
Warm cast iron olives with mint are a great appetizer. Our pastas initially looked small in portion but as we dug in, much depth in flavor and noodles very filling. One room for improvement is a better wine by the glass offering. Very basic options and after a major renovation on the ambiance, wines should reflect this...more variety for CA options, better quality selection, offer Italian besides Prosecco.
Food was amazing. Agustin did a phenomenal job with the service. My wife and I had a great evening out and took full advantage of the menu at Piatti.
Everything was outstanding!
2nd time there since reopening..food somewhat boring, room looks fresh and attractive but service very sloppy! small portions- too noisy- very hard to have a conversation!
Not that keen about the reopening of Piatti. Pasta was good but some of my old favorites were disappointing.
Service was interesting but we understand
… will definitely go back.
So glad they’re back!
The menu felt like pasta pomadora. I would expected more with being in mill vallt.
Lively, friendly and fun ambience in a beautifully redone restaurant, serving tasty dishes with a lovely presentation. I’d like to give it 5 stars but have to reserve that rating for really special places.
First time back since re-opening. The restaurant has a fresh updated interior which looks great. We made a reservation and we’re seated on time however we were surprised to be seated at a high top table ( small round) drink/ appetizer size table in the bar. We asked to be seated at another table however non were available so we had a three course dinner at the bar high top. Next time will request a standard table as eating was very tight with dishes and beverages. We had a super yummy Mushroom pasta and great salad followed by delicious poppy seed cake.
Food was good. Felt safe without our masks on.
GOOD START: FOOD EXCELLENT, ATTENTIVE SERVICE DESPITE FEW SLIP UPS, EXCELLENT BAR + SPIRITS. THE GOOD: Prompt seating, taking and timely delivery of our drink (rec. Otto Casa)and appetizers. Salads gem, Caesar, Chopped were large enough to split- rec GEM with Gorgonzola and $5 extra grilled sourdough bread with dipping oil. Pastas excellent- Buccatini, ravioli came out hot, short ribs and grilled salmon were perfect. Finished off with an excellent generous tiramisu and lemon curd moist poppy seed cake. THE BAD: we initially received Caesar salads not ordered and THE UGLY: our bill had incorrect items added. It recently opened and we’ll definitely be back once wrinkles are smoothed out. Prices are consistent with high quality. Active lively TGIF scene!!
New digs are great. Reduced menu is very good. Staff pays attention to customer needs. Really good food & service in a much improved setting. We’ll be back!!!
Fritto Misto and Broccolni appetizers were delicious! Ravioli and Spaghetti dishes were awesome too. Great proportions (not too big or small). Server was super sweet and provided good service. Only complaint is salads were mediocre and a pre-request for bday dessert was never conveyed to our server.
Glad Piatti’s reopened. Comfortable dining. The Bolonnaise was delicious.
So happy one of our favorite restaurants has reopened. The redesigned interior is nice-more open with a larger bar area. I don’t understand why they put in a “provisions” area. I can’t imagine anyone going there to buy groceries. Menu was similar to previous menu.
After re-opening, the service seems more responsive and friendlier and the food is as fresh as ever and prepared perfectly.
A less-expensive restaurant with consistent quality and convenient parking.
The remodel looked great! Prices appropriate for food. The hostess seemed new. Needs a bit more training! ( but she was sweet) manager stepped in and was very helpful!
Piatti’s is in the early stages of reopening after the Covid closures and an extensive remodel.
As can be expected given the circumstances, the menu seems to offer fewer choices than pre-pandemic but the food was excellent. The choice of wines by the glass also seemed limited vs the pre-pandemic list.
All in all an excellent experience. One pet peeve — and too many restaurants are doing the same thing — is the extra employee mandate add on noted at the bottom of the menu. It’s 4% at Piatti (I’ve seen other places as high as 6%) but why restaurants engage in the charade to fool patrons by not just showing the higher prices on the menu is irksome.
The new Piatti is extremely loud, no rugs nor window treatment to lower the volume of the very crowded bar.
Slow service but not the fault of the seasoned waiter who also misses the former Piatti's atmosphere.
We've always liked Piatti and are glad it has reopened. We had a nice dinner but unfortunately we were seated near a celebratory table of about 10 people so it was hard for us to carry on a conversation once their party started. The salad and pasta were delicious and we will be back!
They just opened again and need help. Stuck us at a table with bar stools next to a pick up station. Offered a worse location in its place. Uncomfortable and like sitting next to a busy subway turnstile. They have changed some recipes: previously had a terrific dipping oil for bread. Tasted just like plain olive oil now. Bucatini with bacon that was mostly pieces of fat which I had to pick out. Delivered the wrong second dish and had to wait ten minutes to replace it with what was ordered. Server was very nice and apologetic and they compt the late meal. But this used to be a favorite restaurant.....
