Plant City - Double Zero
Double Zero was shockingly disappointing. Up there with the worst vegan pizza I’ve ever had. Frozen Daiya and frozen Amy’s vegan pizza taste better. Seventeen dollar Margherita pizza tasted like bread with ketchup. Lemonade and limeade were 2 of the worst tasting drinks I’ve ever had in any restaurant. They tasted like someone mixed white vinegar with ice. Fifteen dollar baked meatballs with barely any substance drowning in sauce. Ridiculously overpriced and lousy tasting food to the point where I lost interest in ordering dessert due to cost and fear that it would be terrible. One of the few times in my life I walked out of a restaurant feeling completely ripped off. And by the way, management might want to tell their hostesses to not lick their fingers before grabbing food menus. I felt obligated to tell a friend to cancel reservations with Bar Verde the following week because the food was so awful at Double Zero and the two restaurants seem related. Too bad because there is a dearth of vegan options in Providence, but I can’t justify this place to anyone, vegan or non-vegan. The only plus was our waitress was very nice, but good service won’t bring me back to an overpriced restaurant with bad food.
Great food! Incredible service!!
Great food, great service, very loud (not in a good way)
This was our second try for Plant City. We thought we would try Italian / pizza this time. Foods that we thought would be hot (lasagne) was nothing more than a cold salad. The “baked meatballs”... weren’t baked... and very spicy but not advertised as such. Left hungry... pizzas (margarita) were dry and flavorless. Food items came out, not together, but in dribs and drabs. Too bad this can’t be a vegan place we can all afford with foods that we all enjoy. We left hungry
Wonderful multi option all plant based restaurant. Absolutely terrific!
Wish it were quieter. If you ask for a table by the window or by the long planter dividing double zero from the Mexican restaurant, it muffles some of the cacophony.
The food is very good, however the menu is extremely limited. As a 27 year vegetarian and 10 year vegan, I was rather dismayed by the fact that our waiter was neither and told us that he “ needs” to eat chickens.
Oh, well, maybe someday.
I do recommend this restaurant for the delicious food.
We ate at double zero for brunch! The Bianca pizza was cheezy and spicy. The carbonara was rich and delicious. We will be back again!
I am not vegan but my daughter is. I highly recommend this restaurant. I love all they have to offer! From the chocolate croissant to the pizza and their store. I’ve been telling everyone about it as it one of my favorites in Providence.
Absolutely fabulous! Very different experience.
Our waitress was top notch. Food was delicious and we tried A LOT of different things. Best margarita ever! We will be regulars for sure. Manager was so nice too. Met him as we were leaving.
Gets better every time, if that’s even possible.
The food was incredible!!! Looked and tasted amazing. We talked for hours afterwards and kept saying how awesome it was!!
Always a pleasure to eat at Plant City!
Food was great, atmosphere nice, dinner came out very late.
I’ve been to 00 many times but this was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. I went to set a reservation online and chose 9pm. The kitchen closes at 10 and the restaurant closes at 11. We got there and I ran into an old friend and started chatting. The waiter came by but I needed a couple mins with the menu (it was 9:07) He looks at a nonexistent watch on his wrist, purses his lips and goes hmph. I made a face at him kind of laughing because I thought he was joking. He wasn’t. He said “Well, it’s late and working in a kitchen you have to clean up and I want to make sure these guys get out of here ASAP so I want to get the order in.” I was honestly shocked! He leaves and we decide to order everything including the dessert because we were so uncomfortable. He says “oh well do you want the check too??” very sarcastically. At this point I seriously considered leaving. The entire time I was so uncomfortable and just wanted to finish so we could leave. We finish half the pizza and all of the pasta. We ask for a box and he goes “okay a box for half the pizza...” very judgmental. Then he brings the bill and hovers over us as if he thought we didn’t have enough money to pay??? I always tip at least 20% but this time I only tipped 10% (I honestly didn’t want to tip him at all after he had been so rude to us). When we got up he furiously counted the money to see if we had tipped him. It was the most uncomfortable, horrible experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I understand that the kitchen needs to clean up, but having worked in the industry myself I know that’s why the kitchen closes an hour early. I’m really disappointed because I do like the food, but the service treated us horribly.
Good spot-- not a ton of options on the menu. The services was great!
The zucchini raw lasagna was delicious. Amazing Blood Orange Margarita! Atmosphere had a very upbeat vibe. Great experience overall.
Wanted to like this place based upon comments from a friend that had gone. Made a reservation the other evening, seated promptly and then waited 20 minutes for someone to attend to us. ( am
I invisible? ) Someone finally comes by , asks us if we have been taken care of, ( no ) and asks us what type of water we want. Five minutes later our waiter arrives, and blames the hostess for not telling him that we were seated in his area.
Get a look at the menu- sort of sparse, but enough variety to try. Place our order but two of the entrees are sold out. Did I say that the menu was sparse ? Two of a limited number has a big impact on what is available.
Ended up ordering a plain pizza and some meatballs with a side of pasta. How bad can it be ?
Pizza was at best fair - the sauce was more like a tomato purée and the pizza felt like it was undercooked. The meatballs were frankly lousy, and I am grading on the curve here. Zero consistency to them. A mush of brownish something, with an over abundance of onions in the sauce. The side of pasta came in a bowl by itself. Nothing offered with it!
Maybe I am missing something, don’t understand the allure of the place- that I am not overwhelmed by the plant based mystique, but I thought the entire experience was really lacking, from the food to the service, just poor at best.
I absolutely love that there is a vegan restaurant in Providence. I’ve been before and had great experiences. I think that being it was a holiday when we had dinner this time was too overwhelming for the staff. We were overcharged on the final bill and several drinks didn’t come out until after we finished dinner. Expected to at least be comp’d the drinks that came out 30 minutes late - that didn’t happen even after I mentioned it to the manager twice. And then we were charged for an extra drink we didn’t even order. Bill was well over $200. Food was excellent. House made soda however was not drinkable.
Great place. Maybe they need more explanation of the dishes in the menu. I didn’t like they don’t offer appetizers at the Italian type restaurant
I'm not a big fan of truffles but the Truffle pizza was the best! We liked the squash blossom pizza as well. The service was great.
I wanted to try certain items on the menu, but they changed from a lunch to a brunch menu & not all items were available. I had the signature - raw lasagne and it was amazing! They have some interesting craft beers, as well.
The pasta dishes and the pizza are delicious. The wine selection is pretty decent too. The chairs are too low and it is very awkward to enjoy sitting on the table.
We love Plant City so much, we eat there about twice a month. It's our favorite restaurant! Everything is so fresh and delicious and vegan!!
First time visit
Food was excellent
We will be back
I wanted to try this because I was just recently diagnosed with an egg allergy. So I didn’t have to tell the waiter and make sure there were no eggs in anything. The pizza was ok. I think I’m more of a cheese lover and the rice mozzarella was awkward. The meatballs were pretty good. The desserts though were the highlight of the evening. We had the churros with the chocolate sauce and the olive oil cake with the pistachio gelato. It was so so good. The server was attentive and nice. The atmosphere was mellow and chill. I would definitely come here again and try the bar verde side.
The salad and the meatballs are a must try!! Fantastic margaritas as well.
The seating is cozy and the food was delicious, although a little pricey. The servers were so welcoming and attentive. Will definitely be going back to try the other sections.
The food keeps us going back, and our waiters are always very friendly! Only thing I've noticed over multiple visits is we're either almost given else's food (this happened multiple times at a previous dinner) or part of our order (presumably) ends up on someone else's table, and ours is forgotten.
Not sure if this is a table-labelling issue or what, but this last visit we were about to be offered the check and still hadn't our Truffle pizza — the least Plant City could do is offer to comp part of the meal, but that did not happen.
One of Providence’s many treasures. Amazing food, ambiance and service. Great for any type of dining - casual, date, business. Will absolutely eat here again and recommend.
Love love love this place. So exciting to see such high quality ingredients, service and execution and a menu. Service was kind and timely with personable demeanor. Returned for breakfast in their Make Out, amazing as well.
Fantastic experience with the exception that 3 of 6 meals were served while the next 3 waited 15 minutes for their meals.
Wonderful plant based restaurant with amazing view of PVD
Christopher V was excellent. He made sure we had an EXPERIENCE and weren’t just having dinner. We will be back!
We had an incredible dinner. Everything was so flavorful and tasted amazing.
Can’t get over the truffle pizza and the service! 🙌
We had a wonderful time with wonderful food!
Everything from the atmosphere to the food to the service was impeccable. They run everything so efficiently and all of the food is so fresh and delicious.
Love eating here. Fresh, innovative and delicious. After several visits I have not had a bad meal or a bad experience. Looking forward to our next meal!
We were sat quickly and our server came over right away. He had a usual speech about the place and menu. He wasn’t very knowledgeable about common drinks we asked about ie. Vodka and water, whiskey, espresso martini. One drink out of four came before our pizza came and then we were almost done with the pizza and then the drinks came. One of our food orders wasn’t served until we reminded him of it. He didn’t come back to check to see how we were or if we needed anything. I also do not like the table side check out - you feel pressured to give a standard tip while the server waits for you to sign.
There was only one problem with our dinner but it was a big thing. My husband ordered the Bolognese and the pasta was woefully overcooked. This, sadly is an unforgivable sin. The sauce was great and my cauliflower pizzaiolo was great. The overcooked pasta was a total downer.
