We both had Veal Martini. Absolutely the best. Our waitress was knowledgeable , friendly, helpful. This was our second memorable meal at Positano. Can’t say enough good things.

Dinner for two on a Saturday nite @ seven. We both ordered veal chop. No apps. Took 45 minutes to get our food. It was terrible. How can you screw up grilled veal chop. Ordered med. Was well done(both of our orders) Maybe they were defrosted in microwave or sat under heat lamps for a half hour.we both took two bites and that was it.They were finally taken away.No one inquired why two $32.50 chops were not eaten or if they should wrap them up for take home. When bill came I was charged for a large glass of wine rather than a regular glass.Never heard of that.I thought we were in a tourist trap in NYC after a "LION KING" Sat. Matinee.The food was so bad we laughed all the way the to a ice cream shop for dinner/dessert.The ice cream was great.
First time back in a few years, and really enjoyed our dinner. Salmon perfectly prepared. Waiter was outstanding, will be back soon
It was for Valentines Day. No where on their website did it say you could NOT order from regular menu. My boyfriend has a specific diet. Anyway we did the V Day price fix menu, had no choice! Service was slow, food was cold and portions small. We arrived at 5:30 and left at 8:30. I had to get up several times to find our waiter just to refill a drink. I wouldn’t have even left a tip but it is not the waiters fault but owner of restaurant for insufficient staffing. I was not the only patron complaining about the service. We were all talking amongst each other.
I was there with a friend for Valentines Day. Four course price fix menu. It started out well and went downhill fast!!! The salad was drowning with cheese and I like cheese! We both ordered the duck. It was so over cooked that it was hard as a rock. They would not comp us on anything. When we complained the waiter stopped coming to our table to check on us. They charged us both for dessert and then only corrected the bill for one of us. I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. Truly horrible.

An old school professional waitering experience which I really appreciated. Attentive and full of helpful suggestions from wine to food. An all around great evening.
Took the family New Year’s dinner. Dinner was amazing. Server very friendly. Music was a bit loud but entertaining. Everything was truly wonderful. We will go back again for sure.
Best veal and shrimp in a light Marsala sauce. Cozy near fireplace Christmas Eve dinner.
Food was disappointing, arrived late, and was expensive for what it was. Are they just feeding the masses?
Great food, great waitstaff
Food was excellent. Hadn't been here in awhile, and we were presently surprised. A little pricy for the pasta dishes, but the portions are generous. With Paul Newman no longer owning the restaurant and the TV no longer playing his films, they should get rid of the TV in the bar. It's a distraction and unnecessary. Was SUPER loud the evening we were there, but there was a large family dining next to us, so that could have been an anomaly. We would absolutely go again. Eggplant parm was excellent!
Delicious seafood pasta, veal sorrento and lamb chops. Giancarlo was a delightful server.
Going to a play
The food and service was quite good. Wish the menu had more offerings in the way of appetizers. Found it to be very limited.
The menu is ambitious and the dishes are not quite there. There is a lack of transparency in the flavors. The dishes all taste similar. I didn’t have any of the fish dishes but the trout and the salmon looked much better than my veal.
Food was excellent as always. Giancarlo always provides excellent service and an entertaining experience.
John Carlo was such a great waiter!! He made our double date with friends a lot of fun. The risotto was amazing!!
We enjoyed a well presented and tasty Veal Tare Mare for lunch. Got to meet the owners daughter who took time to learn who we were and told us about the history of the restaurant. Overall an excellent place to eat and enjoy.
Without doubt, the best food you will find coupled with an attention to detail by the staff that is unparalleled. We drive over an hour to eat here -- sadly, not as often as we would like due to the distance -- and we are never disappointed. Among tonight's specials were gazpacho and a salmon dish. Both amazing. Each time have had something different, and each time we are completely satisfied. Truly a restaurant you should visit. The restaurant is a bit off of the Post Road -- down a long driveway next to the Westport Playhouse. If you near Westport, CT do yourself the favor and go to Positano's.
I ordered the eggplant parmesan as my main dish and it was served over really well-sauced pasta. My only disappointment was the salad which was tossed baby greens but it was was not up to the price. The cappuccino was perfect. The service in the back room was excellent and it was quiet for dinner before theater.
We ate at the bar and enjoyed the food and the very friendly service by the bartender.
A little disappointing. Went at 8:30 on Friday night and was seated next to the only other party in the dining room and they were loud. Waiter recommended calamari and it was chewy and only rings. Salmon entree was good not great.
I loved this restaurant! Very quaint for our anniversary dinner. Will definitely be back.
We were there on a quiet evening. Food and service were outstanding. Gian Carlo our waiter provided an excellent experience. Tucked out of the way off the Post Rd right next to the Westport Playhouse. Most definitely worth the trip if you are a foodie. We will be back!
Food was very ordinary and really disappointing, nothing like what we remember from the original Positano at Compo Beach. It may be new management and a different chef, and not very good. There also was music the night we were there, two good musicians but WAY too loud for the space which made it impossible to talk. We will never go back !!

The bread in the basket was dry (leftover from yesterday?). I had chicken parmesan over spaghetti. The pasta which wasn't under sauce was also dry (also appeared to be from the previous day). The marinara sauce for the chicken parmesan was bland and tasted watered down - Ragu sauce would have been an improvement. We won't be going back there anytime soon.
Our pre-show, 2-course, Prix fix dinners we're interesting (rack of lamb with shrimp in tasty sauce), very well-liked, and good value. Plus, the servers were very nice personable as well as professional and prompt.
Claimed to not have our reservation. Seated us but right by the door. Crowded with bus tour. Food was just okay. Service was absolutely terrible.
Pre-matinee. They had several large groups, so our salads looked and tasted thrown together. Not as good as previous times. Cappuccino was delicious, though.

All the food was beautifully prepared. The burrata wonderfully milky, the gazpacho with a splash of lovely basil oil and a special request chicken pizziola (usually veal) filled with fresh and savory ingredients.
Bartender was charming and attentive without being intrusive.

Lovely place - service was a bit confusing though. Open table advised us to make a reservation 2 hours before the show at the Westport country playhouse so we did. We barely sat down and We were asked for our drink order - I seriously hadn’t even settled in my chair. I was there two hours before the show! My husband ordered a veal dish that included shrimp. Meal came and no shrimp. I questioned it so they apologized and brought a bowl of shrimp. The waiter literally took my husbands fork out of his hand and proceeded to move the shrimp onto his plate. It was so odd. The waiter seemed mature and experienced but he was so strange. It was a nice place but I wouldn’t go back - everyone was just too odd and I do like odd and different things, but this wasn’t in a charming way.
We enjoyed our food immensely.
All 4 of us had something different and each was great. The service was great, very accommodating.
The owner recommended a very nice wine we all enjoyed. If you want real Italian food this is the place!
