Prabh Indian Kitchen

A very pleasant experience. Great food and helped me get my fix! I would definitely recommend.
I love this restaurant, the only thing I don’t like is that when I order a glass of wine, it comes in a measured carafe, which often restaurants do, but other restaurants fill the carafe, and at Prabh, they don’t fill it. The cost per glass is not inexpensive, yet the pour portion is skimpy.
We loved our experience here on Christmas evening. Everything was delicious. We’ll be back!
While many choices, one of the better Bay Area go-to spots for Indian cuisine. In downtown Mill Valley, Prabh has become known to the locals for top quality Indian offerings. Spices set to your level of comfort with many vegetarian offerings, they just make great Indian food in southern Marin and have for years now.
We had a lovely time and will be back.
Good Indian food
Good food, courteous service! Quiet atmosphere, relaxing... 😊
We had a wonderful meal- we were a party of 7 and the service and staff attentiveness was wonderful!!!
Food was great and just the right amount. Service was great
Love having this delicious place in our neighborhood! Beautiful flavors and sweet service.
Our food was outstanding. Sunday at lunch was pretty dead, which we could not understand given the great meal. We had two entrees, rice, naan, and two drinks that came in around $60 plus tip with leftovers for two lunches. The ambiance was nice. If you are craving Indian food, eat here.
We loved it!
We had 3 different waiters/waitresses and no one spoke english. It was challenging to communicate. We ordered one dish and didn't get what we had hoped due to the challenging communications. Food was excellent!
A real disappointment. I have eaten here numerous times and it has always been "OK". Not this time. Employees seemed confused and disoriented, it took forever to have someone take our order, when the food arrived, they did not offer dining plates, so we ate off of our bread plates. The food did not taste fresh, especially the brown basmati rice, and when they brought the check, we had to ask, for the second time, for someone to clear the dishes. I won't be back.
Always a dependable meal. They have a very varied menu and most of their dishes are well prepared.
I made an Open Table reservation last Saturday. I received a confirmation from Open Table for my reservation. When I arrived with my husband and the reservation time, when we finally got the attention of the hostess, we were told that our reservation didn't go through, that they were overbooked and that we would have to wait at least 30 minutes for a table and turned around and left. We decided not to wait.
This is a lovely place for dinner. The atmosphere is pretty and elegant, while still casual and laid back. They have some nice lights and Indian decor. If you sit on the front (inside) porch, it's nice to look out on the streams of lights and flowers hanging from the front of the restaurant. I think there is a fireplace inside. We always enjoy the food. Note that mild has very little or no spice at all, so if you want a little bit of spice spice, I recommend medium. The service seems to be done by family members? and is generally good.
The food was really delicious. However, the ambiance is lackluster and the service was mediocre. Moreover, the entire restaurant was empty when we got there and yet the seated a large party right up against us. A bit bizarre and unfortunate since it made the lackluster environment, less enticing. Finally, they brought dessert with all the dirty dishes from dinner still on the table! Will do takeout from now on since the food was great!
We made Christmas day reservations with them a few days before Christmas. When we arrived a few minutes before our reservation time, it was very busy. Prabh was one of the few restaurants serving on the holiday. The host initially told us that they would not seat us. He said they were not taking/seating any reservations made on OpenTable since they had switched off that service the day before. I guess they were overloaded, but we would have been turned away if I had not been able to show my reservation and confirmation.
All that being said, they did seat us and
They didn’t have the open table reservation but had space to seat us.
There were some dishes that were excellent and others which we did not like as much. The soup was excellent as were the chicken pakoras and the breads (naan and roti). The lamb in the boti kebab masala was tough and my wife did not care for the sauce in the shrimp korma. The service was excellent as was the ambiance. All in all, the value would have been reasonable if the food would would have been better.
Birthday celebra! Best Indian food outside of Great Britain!
This place has a new chef and has taken a step up in quality. It has gone from solid Indian food to some of the best I’ve had. Definitely better than any Indian restaurant in SF. If you’re feeling bold order a dish or two “spicy“ but be prepared they aren’t fooling around.
Best Indian food in Marin
Our service was so and inattentive. The food was very disappointing. The salads were bland and not well prepared or tasteful. My lamb was tough and hardly chewable. Very disappointing on all levels. We also had chicken tikka masala which was ok but nothing special or satisfying. Much work to be done in the kitchen.
We've passed this restaurant by way too often for one reason or another, mostly that we knew no one who had been there. But we tried it the other night and found out we had been missing out on wonderful Indian food. The aloo gobi (sp?) is my very favorite and one I always test Indian food by. Theirs is perfect. Never had it with tomatoes added (fresh, by the way) and really thought it was a great addition, both taste-wise and aesthetically. We ordered five dishes; each very tasty; one a bit too spicy, so we immediately doused the fire with raita, which again was perfect. Attentive service; nice atmosphere with mini lights running behind a beautiful red Sari on the ceiling. We will definitely go again. Probably often as it's a good place to have a conversation. And enjoy good food and service.
I live in Mill Valley and tried this place a few times after it first opened and didn't think much of it but decided to give it another shot. Sure glad I did. Indian food is my favorite in the world and I have had it almost everywhere, including India 5 times. Can't speak for all their dishes and I probably wont come close to sampling them since my coconut chicken was just spectacular and I may never have anything else. Friends ordered tandoori chicken and the serving could have fed the table. They loved it and it came sizzling on a platter. Good but not great naan.
Great service. If you like this kind of food it doesn't get any better in Marin.
Great food although service was rushed. Main courses thrust upon us while we were still eating appetisers - as if the staff just wanted to get home. I like the food so I’ll come back but I’d just like to relax a bit more over my dinner.
We really enjoyed our dinner here, the only real problem was we all had a very hard time understanding our waiter. You can point to a meal choice to order, but if you wanted something explained, it wasn't good. Our waiter would walk away and we would all say, "what did he say"? It makes it hard to order things if you don't know what they are.
Have dined here three times, twice for dinner, once for lunch, hoping for the best and trying to give it a chance. Sorry to say, this is just another Indian restaurant striving to meet American expectations and tastes. Sadly, nothing noteworthy here. Well, the naan was good. Perfect place for whitebread Mill Valley, though. Worst part: they started mopping the floors with some stinky cleaner while we and two other tables were still dining! Drove us all to leave. That alone is a reason never to go back!
Marin desperately needs (but will it patronize?) some truly fine, diverse, and authentic ethnic restaurants. Instead, we're drowning in Italian (ranging from inedible to pretty good), with a sparse sprinkling of other kitchens for relief. Mio Dio, gimme a break!
Another fantastic lunch. Highly recommend the coconut chicken curry. The coconut rice pancake was okay, but not our favorite. The Chicken Cashew dish and rice was flavorful and great. We love the restaurant.
Our party of 6 was seated in upper level. The area was darkish & empty around 8pm. As we took our seats ... they wait staff began setting up the next day's lunch buffet. By our table was a hallway to a back room & apparently outside doorway. Between gusts of cold air they began carrying out tables - metal food trays ... oblivious to the disturbance being caused.
Unfortunately the food provided no positive end to the experience. Solid pieces floating in sauce served with stale naan bread. Tandoori chicken was acceptable - rice was not.
Had lunch and thought the food was quite good. Was pleased that they offer organic options, and label all menu items clearly with Dairy or Gluten. MANY gluten free options, which was fantastic. Service was outstanding. One can tell they care about customers returning for another visit. We greatly enjoyed the coconut curry chicken, which we ordered spicy. We also liked the organic chicken skewers - we dipped in the mint sauce. Cucumber salad was pretty good. We would definitely return for another meal.
Extremely tasty food, great and friendly service -- a wonderful evening!
We had a lovely dinner at Prabh. The staff was friendly & helpful, the food was just what you'd hope for in a traditional Indian place. We ordered a bunch of dishes and some rice and shared around the table, and all ended up satisfied.
We have been here twice in the last 2 weeks. First of all the food is excellent. The first time the service was excellent. This last time the service was excruciatingly slow to the point of l almost do not want to go back. Something was off. Not enough servers and no one ever came to check on us. Took an eternity to get our bill and then pay it. This has happened in the past where the regular staff was not there. It kind of ruins the meal. The wait staff needs a major improvement.
Prabh offers well-prepared authentic Indian food, with tasty options for omnivores to vegans. [My favorites are the eggplant dishes and saag paneer, but everything I've tried has been at least good and seasoned properly.]
Its prices are a touch higher than Indian restaurants in some locations...but the restaurant is paying Mill Valley rent, after all.
The service is good, and in our experience the servers are all eager to please.
I believe Prabh serves the best Indian food in Marin. Staff is warm even if service is a tad slow.
A very quaint Indian Restaurant with some excellent Indian fare. The Indo-chinese food wasn't that good, but the chicken tikka kebab was excellent. The service was good and it helped that the restaurant wasn't too busy. They have a very good Indian beer selection as well. All in a all, a very good meal.
Prabh Indian kitchen is a wonderful family owned restaurant. The food is always excellent and the service is cordial and attentive.
