Primal Kitchen

Primal kitchen was good. The service and desserts were the best parts in my opinion.
Smaller then we expected but very nice cozy space, food was lovely and our server was friendly but not pushy.
Great night out
Good was incredible and lots to decide between. Staff was great. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal or experience.
My wife ordered the Superfood Salad Bowl, and it was not as described on the menu, nor did it look inspiring. As well, the avocado that was on the plate was not necessarily the freshest. However the vinaigrette was very good. When brought to our servers attention, he immediately tried to rectify the situation, and offered her Focaccia. Everything else that we had, the poutine, the braised, smoked rabbit pasta (the daily special), and the focaccia, were excellent. Would definitely eat their again.
Surly wait staff - was waiting for several minutes to be seated even though there were only 3 customers seated and no one else waiting ahead of me
Ordered both the butcher board and the fish monger board- had to send the calamari back as well as the poutine- calamari is served soggy according to our waitress and the poutine was cold. Mussels were dried out on top, ribs were dry - both the tuna and chicken tacos were okay, let’s just say the fried chicken i.e wings were the best on the board.
So we decided to skip ordering mains and left for another restaurant
Overall poor value for what they charge - food was so close to being good or excellent if it was served hot and better service
Sadly they were sold out of the two main items we went for. The chef is clearly very good, however some of the execution was hit or miss. Most things were delicious, but we had to send the calamari back, as the coating was quite soggy.
Great staff, amazing food, outstanding menu! Ambiance is perfect for any types of events!
Appetizers were amazing. Main course was disappointing. Rib eye steak was served chateaubriand style. What true butcher would serve a rib eye this way? Prime cost for a rib eye for a mediocre quality steak.
Pretty good experience, great environment
Food and service are topnotch. If you want a steak in Halifax, go to Primal Kitchen. Ribs and chicken are also great.
We went on a slow day and had the place to ourselves, honestly the best bang for your buck charcuterie in the city.
This was my first time eating here. Food was very good, and the service was quick and welcoming. I’d go back
The food was outstanding, it was worth the price, we enjoyed our dining experience there. The staff was friendly and helpful aswell. Would totally come back again and recommend all my friends to eat there.
Primal was a good sinning experience. The waiter must have been new to the food service industry and he did make a couple of errors when he served our drinks and food . Overall the experience was good .
The location was central and when we came in the welcome was very friendly. We had a lovely seat and the staff were very attentive. The food was delicious and very good food portions. The duck was succulent and I had not had egg with duck before here in Halifax. It was amazing. We were able to fit in a dessert and the chocolate dessert with Ice-cream is highly recommendable. Thank you
Great food, great service, great craft beer selection!
They know a thing or two about meat, but the seafood isn't all that great.
I took my friend here for her birthday and it was amazing. We had the duck and the lamb which we ended up switching plates half way through because bother we’re so good! We ended with the Sticky toffee pudding which could be described as eating velvet! Thanks to the staff for making my friends dessert in to a birthday plate! Would love to come back with more friends for a tasting menu!!
