Proper 21K

We had the brunch experience and it was good. We did not pay attention to the menu and didn't notice that it was a pre-fix but being vegetarian, Steve was super accommodating. We also had a special request since my friend is immunocompromised. Steve was very nice to make sure we weren't around too many others.

The brunch experience was OK. I did not like the food options for the $34 brunch. The service was pretty slow so by the time all the entrées came to the table I was full off of mimosas. The ambience was nice, with the cool breeze from the open doors.

First off, the best thing about this place is the manager who did his very best to make up for the failure of the experience.
Outdoor seating is not a guarantee, despite the fact that it is an option. During Covid, outdoor is the preferred option for many who make reservations based on this- and we get there to find it is first come first serve. First disappointment.
The food was mediocre, at best. They seem to bring out the best options first for the brunch experience, followed by worst. We found funfetti in our mac and cheese, and plastic tags in our mimosas which came out maybe 4 times total during the 90 minute experience.
Many of the things they say they may serve on the website, they will be out of stock on (like bloody marys).

The manager, bless his heart, tried his best to try to make us happy- but you'd think even after all of that you would knock off something from the over price experience, which I would have happily paid if it wasn't one disappointment after the next.

The main passing quality is the live music, which was great - made up for the extremely tart and for some reason salty key lime pie (perhaps salty because they may or may not have thoroughly washed the dishes from the previous meal).

The staff is friendly, its like they're hoping the drinks have just enough alcohol to make you forget how terrible the overall experience may be... but because the flow of drinks wasn't really doing it for us, we still remembered...

Really bad experience this morning. Waited 30 minutes to receive any service, staff was kind but overwhelmed. We did the bottomless brunch option with free flowing sharing plates. Our bill was 200 dollars and the “9 course meal” left all of us hungry. Shared very small plates and had to split one egg between three people, drinks were very weak and full of sugar. Good atmosphere but bad experience overall.

The service was decent, but the food was eh. They were trying this new tasting free following brunch menu. It was a bit unorganized.

We went to Proper 21K for the bottomless brunch this past weekend. Its a new thing for the restaurant as they told us so to put it bluntly they were extremely disorganized. There was supposed to be a 9 course brunch of "free flowing" shared plates. We got 2 of the 9 courses in the 1.5 hours we were there. The menu itself for the brunch was bizarre - funfetti pancakes, a pastry basket, tuna tartare, avocado eggs Benedict, bacon mac and cheese, a dessert tart, and roast potatoes. This was the preset menu that we discovered when we arrived (its not stated ahead of time). It was just a lot of bread and carbs. Our drinks came relatively fast but after waiting over an hour for more than just pancakes (which we didnt want - what adult wants funfetti pancakes??), we decided to leave and have brunch elsewhere. The manager was clearly overwhelmed but nice and comped our food.

Went for brunch, service was great and food was good too. However, drinks were premade and full of sugar.

Food was very good ! Although we weren’t very found of the crab cake burger. The service was a little slow but very kinda and attentive waiters.

Great time. Staff was exceptional. We went for my daughter’s birthday brunch with 10 people. The manager was so accommodating! Only feedback would be the singer was a little too loud. Loved it and will be back.

When we arrived for a reservation it was closed. We were not given any notice. I know things are tough and change every day but that shows no appreciation for your customers. We went to a bar down the block and had a great time with friends. When places reopen we will return the to the place that was open and friendly.

Great atmosphere... lots of upside with this place — food, service, vibe, setting, location and the manager worked the floor (engaged with the patrons). First time here but it won’t be the last time.

Delicious spicy tuna salad and truffle fries. Restaurant manager Eric is a great guy as well - very hospitable!

The food is delish but the service was very hit or miss and they definitely missed. Between the service staff bunching up at the hostess stand and paying the customers attention or them just being on their phones, thankfully the manager Eric came through to save the day. He really helped turn around the experience but the staff still needs some additional training.

Just ok. Food was average. Small tables hard to fit 4 entrees on. Chicken tacos were super hot and they gave no warning.

Our server Hannah was so friendly and accommodating! The food was amazing and the truffle fries are a must have. Perfect outdoor seating too!

Great Birthday Brunch! They're 90-minute, 9-course brunch is the best. The food was spectacular and a really nice variety of sweet and savory. Lots of distancing outside between tables, great service, and drinks!

Highly recommend if you're looking for something different.

Please note — I attended during COVID times while on a work trip so I can’t vouch for normal noise level/vibe. But the food and service were amazing!! Delicious wings and Brussels sprouts, and a few good cocktails as well. Will definitely be back!

TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE REALLY. THE CHICKEN A D WAFFLE EGG ROLL IS JUST 1 ROLL.....REALLY THOUGH

Service was absolutely horrific. Only saw our server every 45 min to an hour. Forgot to put in an appetizer, multiple drinks, and a dessert. When we pointed this out to our server she did not apologize, just looked at us blankly and walked away. I was so excited to visit Proper 21K since it is the Alabama Alumni Bar but I will not waste my time coming here for a game day (or any other occasion) again. Coming from someone who grew up in the restaurant industry, they could do a whole lot better.

AMAZING BRUNCH! You can't go wrong and I am so full after it! I suggest wearing your "stretchy pants." The cocktails are also so delicious!

Great place to watch Alabama football on Saturdays.

Actually I made a reservation for lunch and went in and was told that the restaurant had not started serving lunch yet so I did not get to try any food but the place was beautiful. I'll have to try again one day

I made a reservation on open table for 12:30 for two people, and received a confirmation. When we got there the restaurant was closed and we learned from a worker on the patio that it’s only open in the evenings.

Excellent hospitality and scrumptious food! Great and caring staff! Very nice interior and ambience as well.
