Provender Kitchen and Bar is hands down the best restaurant north of Portland, Maine! Chef Daron Goldstein’s menu is full of some of the tastiest options you’ve ever had! At brunch, my partner had the All American, a classic two eggs, home fries and bacon offering, which as always was cooked to perfection. I chose the yuzu and lemon curd buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes were so fluffy and light and the yuzu and lemon curd on top was out of this world delicious!

I always enjoy the brunch menu at Provender. So very tasty and beautifully presented.
Beautiful space. Excellent service. Some menu items better than others for example:
I loved the jalapeno ginger spritzer! It was like a Moscow Mule without the liquor. Perfection. But, my friend's drink was over done, it tasted more like cough syrup than a cocktail.
I loved my burger. It was deelish! The potato bun, the special sauce, the size of the patties brought the whole yummy thing together. I loved the tallow fries too and there was way more than I could eat. Unfortunately one of my friends got the bacon wrapped scallops and they were definitely not good. The scallops were overcooked and there was too much prosciutto, making the dish tough and overly salty.
Everyone did love the starters and the fresh bread was divine.
The service was impeccable and overall we had a great meal. We will definitely be back!

It was our first visit to this restaurant and we went for the Sunday brunch it was excellent , good choices on menu, very friendly helpful staff quick service definitely we will be back a gem for Ellsworth.

went with a friend for a special birthday brunch, and had the most amazing meal! it is beautiful inside and the brunch was to die for! we had the avocado toast which was delicious, and beautiful to look at! the eggs benedict could not have been more perfect. we can’t wait to go back!

Provender is our favorite area restaurant. There are many places that make good food from high-quality, fresh ingredients, but the dishes at Provender take it to another level. It's culinary artistry, really--the flavor combinations are bold and unexpected, and the result is frequently sublime. Also, the menu changes frequently so there's almost always something new to try. It's not inexpensive, but IMO it's a great value, as food this good in a metropolitan area would definitely cost far more.

We made a reservation for a rainy Wednesday evening. When we walked in, they had just
taken warm rolls out of the oven, and the scent was like a nostalgic trip back our Mom's kitchen.
There is much history evident at Provender, and the ambiance was lovely.
The warmth, service (thank you, Lee!), and food brightened our day. We will return. :-)

What a memorable evening. Food was amazing, our party of five was seated comfortably, our wait staff was excellent. PK Burger, Steak and Vegetable Wellington all enjoyed. Be sure to ask for the Vegetarian, vegan Menu; selections are excellent. We enjoy having Provender as a dining choice in downtown Ellsworth,
We had a fabulous meal here and everything was excellent, but the dry-aged steak was EPIC!

Has to be the best ribeye I ever had. As good as, or better than, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Great sauce, tender beef; almost didn't need a knife to cut it.

By the far the best restaurant in Hancock county. The food is superb, the atmosphere relaxed, and the service PHENOMENAL!!! Consistent and delicious, it is our number choice always. Date night or a quick drink, check them out.
This is our go to place for an amazing Brunch each Sunday. The test kitchen items that Daron puts together are on spot! Love to try something new or just go with the stand by of Avocado Toast or just eggs and sausage! The menu is perfect for everyone. Great wait staff!

It’s usually amazing and we’re still happy we went for dinner; however, our appetizer came out seconds before our entrees arrived. I couldn’t enjoy the appetizer fully and my dinner cooled by the time I got to it. The waitress said it was her fault and apologized which was nice but the food is so expensive I feel like we were cheated somewhat.

The coconut lobster bisque was out of this world. Excellent smooth flavor, with generous pieces of lobster. I’d go back for that but the food is always good here!
A bit expensive, especially hors d’vuours. I’ve had Sole and chicken, both very good.

This is an excellent place for Sunday brunch with an interesting, inventive selection of drinks and food, tastefully presented.
The menu wasn't as posted online, which they did warn that it does change so that was fine. My husband had the roasted chicken with corn risotto. The chicken was dry and flovorless. The risotto was so brothy it looked like his chicken was floating in soup. I had the beets with feta, and the PBK burger. The beets were delicious, but the the feta was so salty I had to pick the beets out to eat them. The burger was delicious. Nice chargrilled flavor, moist, and perfectly cooked. The fries were also very good. Service was a bit slow, but not terrible.
Rebecca, Thank you for the feedback we are always trying to improve everyday. I apologize the chicken dish didn't live up to expectations. That dish is usually spot on, somehow one went out that wasn't up to par. Which is totally unacceptable . Next time just let a server know that you weren't happy whit your entree and i would of been happy to send out another dish or I would of bought it for you. I hope this doesn't deter you from giving us another try. I know we can make this 3 star into a 5

If you haven't gone here yet, you are missing out! The food is EXCEPTIONAL. Not just good, not just great, EXCEPTIONAL. Like mind-blowing. We have been twice and both times our expectations were exceeded and we are foodies, so can be pretty high standards to meet. Get the beet appetizer, you will never be satisfied again with anyone elses! We had the burger, the pasta special with wild mushrooms and duck confit, truffle fries (GAHHHH! SOOOOO GOOD!), the roast chicken is divine, and the cocktails are tasty and innovative. We have eaten all over the country, and this place blew us away!

The pork belly appetizer was one of the best things I have ever had at a restaurant. My pork belly experience is limited, but it was really excellent for taste and texture. The entrees were good and filling, more home cooking style than elevated but very good. Drinks were interesting and okay. Wide diversity in beers. Will return.

Truly an outstanding dining experience. The entree itself is almost secondary to the accompanying, unusual and deliscious side dishes. There is not a better restaurant in the area.
Unexpected food in an unlikely place! First-class prep and presentation. I had the Peekytoe Crab Cakes and they were sublime. My wife had the roast chicken, and while the chicken was great, the star of the dish was the smoked potato, bacon, and corn risotto. I opted for the PKB Burger, which arrived not as usual, a huge patty, but two smaller patties stacked. It was perfect on the potato bun. And Tallow Fries? Move over, duckfat! Great atmosphere too, a 1930s space with a barrel ceiling updated to be at once opulent and comfortable.

Refined and inventive farm-to-table flavors with a twist; charming atmosphere in an old soda fountain with beautiful vintage wood booths, bar and paneling. Great accommodations for gluten free diners without compromising flavor. Yum!
