Public Wine Bar

We went for lunch. I understand we’re in the middle of a pandemic, but there was only one person there to seat people, wait tables and tend the bar. He was very polite and conscientious, but because he was alone, the service was painfully so low. Everything else, including the food and ambience were good. Post pandemic, I’m sure the service will return to normal. I would still recommend the restaurant. .

Great food, service, menu, and atmosphere. Food took a little longer than anticipated but was completely worth it. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

Absolutely love Public Wine Bar. It is our go to in Sono for a wonderful meal and great experience. Warm and friendly, lovely ambience....and the best steak tartare you will ever taste!!

Wonderful staff, food amazing! We will be back! Risotto cake with truffled brussel sprouts, wild boar ragu with pappadelle and broccali rabe were delicious!

Burrata was served on half a hamburger bun, tuna tartar was purple and fishy, and the special aged porterhouse smelled and tasted weird. Willing to give it another try since we loved it the first time, but a disappointment this time around.

Great meal and great service to a packed house on Valentine's Day

We had a great time here for Valentine’s Day! The space is quite small, so be prepared to be within inches of the people dining next to you, however we didn’t mind at all! Service was fantastic, food was amazing and we will definitely be back!

First time here, place was empty on a Sunday evening. Service was a bit slow, but food was excellent.

The place is cosy with great ambiance and our server was great. I ordered halibut which was very dry and drenched in way too much of a heavy sweet sauce.. Was billed as nut crusted but there was no evidence of it. My friend had clams which looked light and fresh and steak which looked pretty good.

Everything was great. The service was spectacular, the drinks were spot on, and every dish was very tasty. The entire experience was perfect.

Public Wine bar consistently has great food, excellent service, and is a very comfortable restaurant; nice decor, and not too loud. They have an excellent menu with a wide variety of dishes and we recommend it to all our friends.

Very nice happy hour choices (get the brussel sprouts!) and menu. Seafood risotto and seafood over pasta were both excellent, good quality ingredients. Nice vibe and good service.

My husband and I ate here on a Saturday night, August 3rd. The front window was open and there was no air conditioning. We were both very hot and sweating. At some point, they turned a fan on which helped only slightly. Inside the restaurant, it not very crowed and yet it was extremely loud. We were yelling at each other across the table and were having a very difficult time hearing each other. Our order was put in wrong and my food came out as an appetizer instead of an entree. Because of this error, we did not eat together. Mistakes aside, we thought the food was pretty good. They did give me a complementary glass of wine but overall, our experience here was not a great one. We would not go back here.

Loved the attention to detail by owner, chef and bartender. We had a wonderful happy hour/supper and enjoyed great drinks, salads and appetizers. Spicy Salmon Tartare was amazing!

we went as a larger group, the service was REALLY slow, the food came out late. Two meals never made it out. i am going to definitely take this off my places to go.

We made reservations for my son's birthday with family for 11 people @ 11:30 on a Se first Saturday. We were the only customers in the restaurant for at least for the first 30 minutes. We ordered lunch - several had salads or soups, however, after they had cleared the salad/soup service, we waited at least another 30 min until our main dishes were served. Although the waitress did attend the table for standard drinks, water was not checked, nor refilled. One meal and a side never arrives - even after 15 min of serving the rest of the table. We had to cancel it and share entrees as all others would be done by the time it arrived. Although Ambiance was good, the service was very poor.
