Meh meh meh
A great vibe and friendly staff. My friends and I really enjoyed drinks and some tacos while we chatted. Energetic but not too noisy. Very pleasant experience and the food was very yummy.
Great food. Great atmosphere
Great taco’s. A bit pricey at $7 bucks a pop or so… very good service… cool bar area…
This was my second time to Puesto and the food was as tasty as ever. Had a carnitas bowl with added tortilla and had the yoga pants to drink. The touch of honey In the drink was absolutely delicious. Service was a tad slow at times but we weren't in a major rush. Will return again!
Great place to go and celebrate, food was great but a bit over priced for single tacos.
I specifically asked for outdoors!
The area was a side indoor patio with high windows. No one was seated very close to us so I didn’t feel uncomfortable.
The service was so very slow!!!! I’m guessing they have opened up to full capacity and don’t have the staff to handle that.
The food is good but I don’t think we will be going back!!
Love this place!!!!
Great food, but prices are ridiculous. Won’t be going back unless it’s taco Tuesday, and even then it makes it just very overpriced instead of ridiculous.
Food is very good and the place is so pretty! A bit overpriced for the portions.
Absolutely loved their food, ambience and cocktails!! Guacamole was mouth watering and tangy!!
Overall not the best experience. Came here for lunch awhile back and the food was much better than it was this time for dinner. Tacos were wet yet the meat was dry, service seemed stretched thin, and we were sat awkwardly at a table for 6 as just a party of 2.
I’ve been to Puesto’s several times, but it hasn’t been the best experience lately. The small plates were dirty, still had food stains on them. We asked for new dishes and they were still dirty.
Also, our shrimp taco was actually cold. Not good!
Customer service was okay, nothing exceptional.
The quality has definitely went down. Bomb tacos, but they have lowered their standards.
Overall, great experience. Looking forward to going back.
My wife had the carnitas bowl, I had a filet taco and a birria taco. All of the food was good but over priced for what you get. They also charged a 4% service fee.
Won’t be back because of the fee and price for the food.
We had a terrible experience there last night. The front girls was good. Our server was so rude. We asked him for Picture. He said I am busy, then stand around to talk to other workers. Foods was cold. Never once comes back after the foods came out to see if we needed anything else. Our drinks was all empty. Chip basket was empty. Never ask anything after foods out at all. We have to call him over for a check. He just left it & walk away. I didn’t want
To tip him at all since he was so rude & seemed to have an attitude. But, I did tip him 10%. It’s been a long time since I
Tip anyone 10% usually 20-25% all the time. We will never come back to that restaurant. Will tell all our friends to not either
TERRIBLE SERVICE/ TERRIBLE WAITER. (FOODS COLD)
We went for my boyfriend’s birthday. We got the classic guacamole with chips which was delicious and 6 tacos (lobster x 1, baja fish x1, filet mignon x 1, chicken al pastor x 1, quesabirria x 2). The lobster taco I don’t recommend, the flavours did not blend well and not worth the extra price for lobster. The filet mignon was my favourite, my boyfriend liked the fish. We also ordered a classic margarita and a watermelon margarita. The classic margarita was too sweet for my liking but the watermelon margarita was so good, it had Mezcal. Highly recommend if you like a Smokey flavour in your drink. The only issue we had was our second drink order was forgotten about which was unfortunate and it was difficult to get a waiter to see us after we had ordered because we were seated at the back corner where no one passes. Also when we got there we said it was our first time but the waiter seemed to still rush us as soon as we sat down to order which was annoying since we barely got to look at the menu. They did give my boyfriend a small birthday cake which was really nice and good. Overall our experience was a 3/5. Note they added a service charge of 4% on the bill, in addition to my tip of 18%. Basically making it 25% of the bill which to us seems very expensive for service especially since we were ignored.
Love the food and the ambiance as well as the drinks.
Puesto is a consistently great experience. Always friendly/attentive wait staff, great food- puesto perfect guacamole and esquite are must have starters!- awesome margaritas and lively, open venue are all the reasons we keep coming back!
Everything on the menu is great and has the coolest bar set up ever in a restaurant.
Service was great
Overpriced and mediocre food. Drinks were good
We went for my friends birthday and we’re slightly disappointed with the service and the portions of the food for the price that you pay. The food itself was tasty, but very small portions. I ordered a shrimp bowl and paid 25$ and was only given 6 shrimps; if you ask me, that’s a rip off. Our server was also rude and not that attentive. Will not be going back.
Blue corn tortillas are gone, Yalu! Food was awesome. Service was slow but good when it came, just covid staffing I’d guess. When this one opened it was not as good as the San Diego ones, now it is just as good
Authentic Mexican food, pescatarian and gluten free choices, great beer and cocktails, with energetic vibes. Nice for date night. Dinner with family or friends.
Fish tacos needed salt. To many different sauces and garnish’s to actually taste main component. Had the fish , lobster and shrimp. Lobster was lacking maybe four dime size pieces. Fish was oily and missing seasoning (salt). Shrimp was ok but chewy. I can say I tried but would not go again.
Love the food!
The usual experience in our 50+ trips to Puesta Santa Clara. Great food; slow service; insanely noisy.
I stood inside for what felt like 1 minute before Garrett charismatically extended his lovable greeting. My reservation was for 2:30pm, there was more than enough seating. If you’re into tequila they have a noteworthy selection. Our server was prompt, polite, and incredibly nonintrusive (meaning she made effort to make eye contact before barging in on our conversations)! If you’re looking for a tasteful twist on a taco try the carnitas, carne asada and their award winning chicken taco - you won’t be disappointed.
The restaurant has great ambiance. The food was served very quickly, great selection and service was great. We will DEFINATELY be back.
Service was excellent but the food was lacking. Expensive shrimp tacos for thee-four shrimp and not much else. Drinks were good. Birthday girl was unimpressed.
The food here is really good and the kids’ meal is a great deal. I wish the adults could get tacos, rice, beans and a drink all for $10!
But the adult food is quite pricey, $7-9 for each delicious taco, and three are recommended, so plan to pay about $25-30/adult on tacos alone.
The restaurant is beautiful, the woodwork lovely. It’s a great vibe. Don’t, however, expect to be seated outside. Even though you can reserve outside tables on OpenTable, actually they don’t have the outdoor dining room open (the last two times we went). For COVID times, we found this very disappointing and I won’t return until they re-open the outdoor dining room.
The vibe and atmosphere are good here for a Friday night getaway. However the food is overpriced and average. The shrimp tacos had shrimp and tamarind sauce- that was it… could have used some slaw, citrus and more flavor. The fish tacos were good and the meat tacos too. But seriously $25 for three tacos and nothing else is quite steep… at least include some sides. And beyond tacos and a couple appetizers- the menu is pretty limited- just know that.
Service on table was average ….. host at front was good
Service was just ok, felt Rushed during our dinner party, the food portions were tiny, baby size not even for kids.
They only serve one single small taco per order, that was horrible
Great food! Tables were a bit small and congested. Service was great!
Puesto is a beautiful architectural structure . The decor is very esthetically modern yet warm and pleasing to the eye . This was an afternoon lunch and I requested outdoor seating which was very nice . I realized that they were a bit short staffed but the staff were as attentive as possible and friendly! As for the food ,the chicharrones were warm and very tasty . The mesquite corn was appetizer size , good but small quantity.
Most of my friends ordered the bowls with carnitas and added fried egg … very filling and good .
I had the shrimp ceviche and filet mignon taco plus the Birria taco … good also .The menu can be best described as a stylized version of Mexican fare … it blended well with the decor but if you are looking for the real home style or family cooking Mexican menu , then look elsewhere . Otherwise , enjoy this upscale restaurant for what it was meant to be !!
Great service and ambiance. My prawns could have been grilled better. Chicharonnes we’re outstanding.
Disappointing. Food didn’t even come out warm. Since my last visit a couple years ago, there have been a lot of changes—-and not for the better. This place has gone way down hill. Jessica Scott is no longer executive pastry chef, so they no longer have charred mango cheesecake. Dessert is missing from the menu, but you can ask for tres leche cake. The blue glass cups have been replaced with cheap clear white glasses. The bathrooms are VERY dirty….service is good but servers are all new and inexperienced. Need I say more?!
Hi Debbie, Thank you for your feedback and I hope you will give us another chance. We also offer delicious churros now as apart of our dessert menu. We hope to see you soon. Our team is constantly growing and changing but we all have a love for Puesto and love to share it with our guest.
Tacos are amazing... the servers can help ensure you pick the ones for you, but I love the filet, lobster and Baja fish. The horchata (reg or w/ alcohol) is amazing. I’m sure the other items are great also... but def recommend.
Michael, Thank you so much for your great review and support through these times. We hope to see you again. Monique
