Quartino

We have been there several times over many years. Service is usually great but tonight was a bit off. Not sure what the issue was. Our server was great but things got off to a very slow start. The table next to us complained to the manager about their service. No managers came over to us to check in on how things were going. They usually have done that in the past even if things were good. Food was very slow coming to us. Other tables around us who arrived after us received their plates.
I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as this was the only somewhat negative experience we have had after going there for 10 plus years so I hope we are not taken for granted next time we dine there.
What a great dining experience!
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Looking forwarding to dining here again next time I'm in Chicago!
Always a wonderful experience. We live out of town, but always make a point of coming here when we can.
Amazing food, ambience and service!! Highly recommend!!
We were immediately seated. Service was great. The manager stopped by a couple times and was very nice. The pasta and pizza were excellent!
Traditional made-from-scratch Italian food. Great variety of menu items from which to choose. Service was attentive, but not bothersome. Good city vibe. This is not the place to go for a romantic dinner, can be a little loud.
Excellent food!
Good service!
However.. the it’s not a great place for a date/ romantic dinners.
It’s too crowded and noisy. Tables for 2 are really really small, not much space between two tables, so the environment doesn’t provide the necessary comfort level.
Delicious food for a pretty reasonable price. The ambience is lively but super loud. Not easy to hold a conversation but that's ok but you will be busy eating good food and people watching.
Amazing food! Great attentive service!
I highly recommend!
Favorite place in the City. Hands down! Make sure to get the house made pastas!
Steven was fabulous!
Always a favorite when in Chicago. Great variety and consistency of food. Have never been disappointed. Servers are friendly, knowledgeable and abundant... very attentive
Loved sharing the small plates with my dinner mates. Great selection of wine.
This is a great spot for a group! Small plates to share and delicious too. The service is always fast and friendly!
Good, but our food was delivered separately
This used to be a great restaurant, part of the Gibson’s group, that I have dined in multiple times
However on this occasion :
Despite a reservation we waited over 25 minutes for our table standing in an overcrowded bar with the check in area crammed
The table jutted out and I was constantly bumped by passing waiters
The waitress was offhand and disinterested and took down the wrong order
My wife’s main dish of shrimp risotto arrived quickly but was cold
My main dish of pepperoni pizza did not appear for over 30 minutes after my wife’s dish and each time I enquired as to the whereabouts of my pizza was told it will be out directly
When it did arrive it was served without apology and no attempts were made to make up for the delay and indifferent service
I am now sadly reluctant to return in the future and will need to warn business colleagues that the establishment is on the slide
Perhaps the manager of Quartino’s would like to comment as to whether my experience is now the norm or in any acceptable
I’m here on a weekend vacation and just knew from the look of the place from the outside that everything would be great!! AND IT WAS!! From the Sangria, gnocchis, pasta, calamari to THE PIZZA oh my!! Loved it all
I've been there before, and food was not as good as in previous instances. Just not as tasty. Also - we were 'forced' to share some fo the dishes since there was no sense of timing - so make sure when you order everything is 'to share'
Celebrated my bday with 15 friends. Everything went very well. Order the gnocchi bolonhese off menu and the house wine.
Visit Chicago every year. Quartino is a must. Great value, great food, fun experience. Elizabeth was our waitress. She was fantastic. One in our group was dairy free. Elizabeth immediately wrote on the menu outlining options, in detail, including recommendations. It’s a large menu. She was obviously intimately knowledgeable about the ingredients in every dish. I prefer the dairy myself, but it as impressive. Thanks again to all.
There were no surprises. We wondered how things would with Reg small plates coming at different times as soon as Reg dish was ready but it worked perfectly. There were always things to share and the food was hit and fresh. We had the tagliatelle, Alfredo noodles, ravioli, shrimp risotto romaine and capers salads. All tasty.
Of course we tried the desserts also. Thanks to our server, Matthew, for taking good care of our party and making some great recommendations.
Great food. Very sensitive to food allergies and gluten. Excellent drinks. Because it is popular it is crowded and noisy. So not an intimate dining experience. But still, we love it.
As expected. One of many Chicago Italian restaurants. Food is pretty good, served tapas style. Disappointed they charge for Arnold Palmer refills.
Food always good. Service was Terrible No one waited on us and they they forgot one entree. Even after telling them it took 40 mins to bring a pizza
This is our second time eating here while in town visiting. I absolutely love the ambience and the food. I was hoping it was as great as I remember and it was! Great value, great experience!
The food was very good however it was brought out in no particular order. Appetizers were brought out the same time as the entree or even after it. My understanding was that they wanted to food served hot but very unprofessional. Busy for a weekday but the wait staff seemed overwhelmed.
Great service and great food! True Italian family dining style
$19 for a dirty martini and it was terrible.
I don’t pay that much even at Maple & Ash or Gibsons.
Disappointed.
I always take my family to Quartino’s after an outing to see Santa in the 900 N Michigan mall!! This is my favorite restaurant, and theirs as well! The service is as impeccable as the food! And the homemade Limoncello is the icing on the cake! You never disappoint Quartino’s! Thank you for years upon years of quality meals reminiscent of my trip to Italy!!
The (shareable) penne pasta portion was too small.
Everything else was great!
My iPhone 11 got stolen inside the restaurant. Another customer near us had their purse stolen.
Awesome place, but it’s not inexpensive! We had 2 drinks each plus we shared three menu items of average price, and with tip it was about $60 per person.
I chose on here that it was for a special, birthday. However, the staff never acknowledged that and then never did anything for the birthday girl. The server asked us if we would like dessert, we asked if she could come back in a minute for us to think about it. Then she never returned with our checks without asking if we wanted anything.
Ambiance was lively. Bathrooms were fine. Drinks were a nice strength. The food was not to our liking. Had many diff tapas and most were not good. Majority of our party will not be returning.
Good food but really noisy.
Good food. Small portions. Skip the hazelnut "grilled" sandwich - 2thick slices of white bread, run thru the grill with a small amount of Nutella. Bland and not worth $7.
The waiter was a bit condescending. The food came out lukewarm, and our drinks were watered down heavily. I felt bad in the end because I was the one to pick the restaurant. Should've gone somewhere else.
Had to wait almost 30 min for my reservation but we received a free bottle of wine and mussels - great customer service on their end 👍🏽
We reserved a table for 10 and they gave us a table for 4. When we were asked for more space, we had to wait. Took a long time to get served too
