Quinto at Vidanta Riviera Maya
Food, drinks, and service, on point. Cocktails and decent wine selection. Beef empanadas as an appetizer, followed by Cesar salad, and beef filet as an entree, asparagus a la carte - all excellent. I didn’t make it to dessert tho. We sat on the upper balcony and had a peaceful view of Salum and the ocean in the distance. Beautiful evening.
The whole experience was exceptional. The server was great, the food incredible, and the saxophonist was the top off.
Upscale restaurant with a good variety menu.
Dinner experience was fabulous with great chairs, linens and wonderful atmosphere.
The food outstanding.
Gabriel gave us first rate service.
Will be going back
Beautiful seaside setting- we ate out on the patio. Steaks were so tender, cut with a fork!
The food was extremely good, we ordered a Valentine’s Day special and the selection was first class. Surface was also really good, food was slow in delivering, after the bread they brought to the table it was another hour and until we got the next course. We were with family and had a wonderful time visiting so it didn’t matter a lot but it seemed a little long. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace in the great weather, have sat inside on other occasions as well and enjoyed that. The food is pricey but well worth it.
Higher end restaurant on Vindanta property. I made reservations to celebrate Valentine’s Day a day early with my wife -we were traveling home the next day, and I wanted to make our last night together special. The facility is beautiful, and when I requested specific seating we were seated outdoors. Here’s the thing, the outdoor seating is in close proximity to the other restaurant, and the experience changed immediately from a high end restaurant to a more comfortable environment. Inside a jazz saxophonist and outside a rock band. The experience and the food were delightful until our waiter became inattentive, focusing on the heavy drinking table near ours. There was an unusually long delay from when we finished out salads until our main course was served. The server asked me to try my filet, which was cooked to perfection, however he quickly left, and when my wife tried her meal it was ice cold. I sampled our side dish, and it was ice cold too. We notified the waiter, and he seemed unhappy with us for returning the meal. He called the manger over, who suggested that it was the ocean breeze that chilled out food. I offered him a spoon to try for himself, but he didn’t accept. Here’s the part that got me. My wife returns the meal, and the waiter comes over with a dessert menu, seemingly oblivious to what just occurred. I asked for the check, and while they removed my wife’s dish my cold side was still included. After all, I did have some.
The next part of the story got worse when I tried paying, but that’s an issue with the resort, not the restaurant.
All in all, not a good experience. I write reviews when I have great experiences and poor ones. This one was poor. 95% of the time a manager can change it in an instant, usually by observing the staff carefully and ensuring every detail is observed. I recommend going off property if you’re looking for a fine dining experience.
We love everything! The Sax player was terrific! Food and service was great!
This was our worst dinner of the week at Vidanta. Not because of the food, but the waiter. We ordered clam chowder which was to contain corn and clams. We do not like to have the whole Clam including the shell in our Chowder, so I ask him if the clams were removed from the shell, He said it was, but the shells were used as decoration in the presentation. So soup comes and sure enough the shells(6 to 8)were at the bottom of the bowel with a decoration of potato sticks, etc. Then from a separate container the soup itself was poured into the bowl covering the shells and all. Now the only way to get to the clams was to put my fingers into the bowl, hold the clam shell and unloosen the clams from the shells. Now I don't mind eating some foods, even clams like if they are steamers, but not for this dish when I specifically asked about the shells. In addition, the soup had no evidence of corn in it with the taste or pieces of corn. It was obviously pureed. Now here is the kicker and I have to be fair about this review in that the chowder was very tasty,. I'd order it again if I ate there again, but emphasize that I want the clams removed from the shells. The soup was just not what we expected. In addition, I ordered salmon. It was a very skimpy piece with a small vegetable side. It was all dwarfed with the large plate that was used. Could have spruced it up with some artistic paste, etc. Again though, the small piece, although not filling, was very tasty. For the price we paid it could have been done and carried through much better. Every place deserves a 2nd chance, so we will go back next year if we go to this resort.
Food is amazing restaurant is beautiful had a wonderful time
This was my third time at Quinto and had server Luis twice and he is amazing! Fully knowledgeable about the menu and offers great recommendations. The third time we had Virginie and she was also a wonderful server. The food is outstanding and it is a beautiful atmosphere. They have live music and sometimes it can be pretty loud on the main floor. Can’t wait to go back!
The clam chowder was amazing. The steak was perfect. The service was top notch. Highly recommended!!!!!
Good food, relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Loved the saxophonist.
Great food Resonable price Sat outside, night was beautiful. Service was good. We have been here several times and will go back again
Rainy night made it tough
If you like meat, this is a must. Grilled to perfection. Nice menu. Attentive but not overbearing service.
This is the third and last time I have tried Quinto. My last visit was ok but not great but based on friends’ trusted recommendations we made a reservation for this trip. I wish I hadn’t. The food was fine. Nothing special. The service was terrible. We had to ask several times for water for the table — only got one refill. We each had only one cocktail — the only time all week — because our waiter never asked us if we wanted anything else. It took forever to get our check. And, we were celebrating two 60th birthdays— noted on the reservation and mentioned by the hostess when I checked I. But nothing. Not even a happy birthday wish. Totally over rated. We will not be giving this one another try.
Aged steak was excellent as was my wife's petit filet. Both were cooked perfectly. Guillermo's service was excellent. Great ambiance.
My waiter Andres was outstanding. The service was very good and the food was very good.
Real good nice view and great service. Big ole steaks
My ribeye was phenomenal... great music and Andres provided wonderful service
Good ambience with saxophonist providing nice range of music to backing tracks. Food was fine but slightly expensive. We needed to borrow a torch from the waiter to read the menu.
Food, atmosphere and friendly staff were fine but service was painfully slow. Also speakers were too loud.
We showed waitress our privilege card and were there at the appropriate time. She should have told us we were each entitled to a free welcome drink.
I enjoyed a relaxing dinner with excellent food and wonderful service. A beautiful place to enjoy.
Virginia was an amazing server, there was even a live saxophone performance while we were there.
Great food, even better experience
Ribeye was perfectly seasoned and cooked as ordered. Pear and blue cheese salad was perfect. Service was relaxed. Live music was a nice touch.
This restaurant was so interesting. The decor was super cool. The menu was awesome. Live music was playing the whole time with a live trumpet. And our service was outstanding. . We have the Barada for appetizer which was delicious and then we both had a petite fillet which was cooked perfectly and sides of cream spinach lobster mac & cheese and steamed kale. The portions were generous and we easily had a second portion of mac & cheese for breakfast the next day
Amazing menu and service
Having dined both at Quinto and Tremonto for steaks, we prefer the quality and taste of the Tremonto food.
Lobster was not completely cooked inside. Others members of the party had excellent food.
Excellent! Ivan gave us wonderful service.
We have been to Quinto at Rivera Maya multiple times and have always loved it. The food is delicious and as importantly the staff is wonderful!
Food and service was amazing. Got sat near oven and was very very hot all night. Otherwise it was an amazing meal!
There was delicious food. Guillermo was a great waiter, jazz music was playing. Staff was attentive, but not 'in our face' which was appreciaged
The food was magnificent! The saxophone player was amazing, but it did make conversations challenging. This restaurant is on the Vidanta Riviera Maya property and was by far the best restaurant we went to during our 1 week stay.
Too expensive for what is offered
Had a 7:00 PM Reservation but were early and they had no issue taking us at 6:30. Restaurant was not busy at all due to low season mid December. Waiter suggested a wine that was spot on for our taste. Steaks were cooked perfectly. The roasted Broccoli with Ginger I had as a side was wonderful. Definitely not cheap but not more than other comparable quality restaurants I have been to.
This was one of the best meals we had at the Vidanta Resort. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted great!
We ate at the restaurant 2 times. The first time we sat inside on the balcony. There was a musician on the ground floor. Unfortunately, we were under the speaker and it was quite noisy. The steaks were superb. We ordered steamed vegetables and risotto as our sides. Luiz, our server was quite good. The second time we went we sat outside on the balcony. The view was beautiful. I didn’t order the steak this time. Instead, I ordered the baked Brie as my entree. Again, my companions steaks were super. We ordered the same sides. Both times we had two bottles of inexpensive red blend wine. The wines are very over priced. While the restaurant is expensive, the value makes it worthwhile.
