Very good food, our waiter Jose, worked very hard to make up for terrible bar service. Took 25 minutes to get a cocktail before dinner. Our appetizer came long before drinks, which we ordered first. 3 bartenders and they couldn't get drinks out. I'd go there again for the food but would skip any drinks until they fix their bar service.
The pizzas are great. Service was good and ambiance was great.
Very delicious food and cozy ambience restaurant. I may re-visit here again. Strongly recommended menu is gnocchi.
Fantastic staff, creative menu, fresh food, creative flavors and a variety menu
Upon walking in, we were greeted by a very friendly hostess. But, our only complaint was the temperature. It was a warm morning in SF and the restaurant was hot. Air conditioning was needed.
Grabbed breakfast. Server was very nice. The food was great for what we wanted. Delicious and hardy.
Worth the price overall.
Food was quite good, service was a little slow but the waitress was incredibly nice and helpful. Would def recommend.
Great location to host small meal. Dinner and drinks make for a great atmosphere in this location. I would even suggest their bar as it is very viberat!
Bathroom too far and direction not labeled clearly well !
We went early on a Saturday night- had reservations for 6pm because we were going to a show at the Curren later. We got there early and were seated right away. There were about eight tables filled and only one waiter for all of us, and more people came in while we were waiting. Although the waiter gave us water right away, it was 15 minutes before we could place a drink order, and another 15 before we even got any drinks- we had already gotten appetizers by the time our drinks came. The food was very good- I had an excellent beef short rib with vegetables and it was falling off the bone- wonderful! We did order two more drinks toward the end of our meal and pretty much just drank them for dessert! It's too bad, because we would have ordered at least two more drinks if the waiter had actually waited on us. He was very nice, but there wasn't enough help and the hostess just stood around not doing anything.
The food was good, but portions were small, esp for the price. I did not think we got good value for our money.
Our group had a great time! We were here for a meeting and they were very accommodating
Service was slow, even though there were barely any people there.
Enjoyed dinner! Great service, tasty food, cozy atmosphere.
I had the tomato soup and the short rib. It was delicious!
It was my anniversary i looked you up on your website overall reviews were good, but your site shows pictures of food thats supposedly on the menu but when i arrived at the establishment sadly it was no longer offered, just a bit disappointing as it was the dish i wanted.
The drink I ordered was nice and the decor is beautiful.
However, the food was really overcooked. My risotto’s rice was so overcooked and no taste. And, in the end, our server decided to automatically add $20 tip to the bill on his own. He said he made a mistake! We let him go with it and didn't ask for a refund. But, we wouldn't have paid 20 on 120 bill for a party of 2. Didn't leave there happy!
So many other options around that area!
Won't be back and recommend you skip this one.
We had a show just around the corner and thought to have dinner nearby so we'd not be in a rush, unfortunately even with a 4 minute walk to the venue we were. Not only did dinner and drinks take a while to come out, the waiter had gotten two meal orders wrong! As a result we had to wait another 15 minutes for the correct meals to come out (after we'd reminded them yet again that we were waiting on correct food and we were in a hurry). When it finally did, we had to ask for the check immediately - and to our surprise, zero compensation for mixed up meals or delays (the waiter practically stopped talking to us after the mistake was pointed out - I couldn't believe it!) In such a densely populated area, there are better options around.
Maybe we came on a bad night. When we initially arrived the cocktails and the mussels were nice. But as the night went on the service became very slow and the food was exceptionally bland. The chicken was dry, and both it and the gnocchi didn’t even seem to have basic seasoning.
Cozy place with good service and excellent food. The basement level is quieter and less energetic
than the street level section.
Food was amazing and ambiance added to our experience. Highly recommended
Always great; the chicken is out of this world.
We were disappointed in the extremely slow service (we didn't get our drinks for 30 minutes), but the food and wine were excellent.
Made reservations here for a sizable group brunch based on proximity to Union Square and reputation of the other restaurants owned by this group- e.g. Brixton. Great atmosphere, located in the Zephyr hotel- fun, younger vibes. Menu was decent, food was good, not the most interesting brunch menu, but the chicken wings were good! Prices as expected for the area. Service was friendly. We weren’t in a rush by any means, but maybe because we were in the back room with just a few other tables, we were forgotten and experienced slow service that needed prompting to place an order, etc. I might go back for a drink or dinner, but not with out of town guests I’m looking to impress.
Top restaurant in SF not for tourist
Ordered the gnocchi. It was so good! I had the Chardonnay from Antica, really good.
The tiny potatoes with brunch were the true winner here, beautiful crispy skin and creamy centers. The breakfast sandwich and Rambler (eggs, pancakes, bacon) were meh. The cold brew coffee with coconut milk and matcha also didn’t thrill me as much as I was expecting. That said, loved the space, friendly service, and they were cool letting us mellow at the table long after we were done eating.
Threw a surprise party for my boyfriend and they were very accommodating to my large group of 12.
Posto molto carino, ottima cucina ma un pessimo rapporto qualità prezzo...
Ambiance is depressing & food & wine is way overpriced! I will not return! Don’t recommend!
Loud unpleasant music. Seated on street level near the door despite reserving a table. Downstairs has a much better vibe. Hostess was obviously inexperienced. Third or fourth time here and probably my last.
I felt the pricing was very high considering it has 2 $. It cost me over $100 for 2 pasta dishes and 2 glasses of wine
Really like this restaurant for dinner, but we went for brunch and it was like being in a completely different place. In sharp contrast to the dinner menu, the brunch menu was boring and uninspired. The food was decent but forgettable.
The negative experience was really defined by the disastrous service. With no more than three tables at a time, it felt like the mostly absent wait staff were busy doing other things. Had to flag down a busser to order more drinks, had to ask for a dessert menu. A pre-made, cold chocolate cream pie took 15 minutes and a complaint to arrive at the table.
Definitely skip Rambler for brunch, but give it a try for dinner.
Great food and service.
Foods was delicious
Creative menu options, well done, at fair prices for SF. Good service. The table near the front window was relatively quiet, a plus. Will definitely return.
Great food and great service! Never fails!!!
Excellent short rib entree. Great service and awesome ambiance.
High quality food and cocktails. Everything was cooked perfectly and the service was personal and at the right level of attention.
