Hands down my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood, perhaps in all of San Francisco. I was hesitant about writing a review because I don’t want to make it difficult to get a table. Everything is perfect, the changing menu, the ambiance and especially the kind staff.
Revelry was amazing- the food and ambiance. Everything we ate and drank was superb! Terrific little French bistro. Highly recommended!!
Truly delicious dinner. High quality ingredients, well balanced and flavorful. Cozy environment that doesn’t feel crowded or noisy. Wonderful service. We will be back!
Pre theatre dinner date with my daughter! It was great!
I would have given food a better rating but the fish was dry this time.
Great French food in an authentic atmosphere. They are the only restaurant in S.F. that serves escargot in the shell, as they do in France.
Everything was excellent EXCEPT the clam chowder which was very bland
Food was very good and service was kind and gracious. Don't go here if you're in a hurry. The staff like to talk to the customers in a warm and genuine way, and sometimes it can delay things a bit. The Trout sashimi was amazing!
Nice little french bistro. Great food and comfortable ambience. I had the scallops which were delicious.
Perfect setting for our party of 12. The staff were polite, responsive and congenial. Definitely want to make this my weekly dinner spot. Great for intimate gatherings and medium sized groups.
We went for Sunday Happy Hour and stayed through dinner. The Happy Hour prices for the house wine seemed a bit high. Maybe $9 a glass is average?
Dinner was very good. 2 of our friends are French and they both thought the escargots were perfect. We had seconds! The French entrees were good but the porchetta didn’t taste like the porchetta we’ve had at Italian places, just pork belly.
The chocolate cake we had was the best! It was like a molten chocolate cake with intense chocolate flavor but not too sweet. I’m not usually a big fan of profiteroles but I ate all of my share.
I will definitely come back to check out lunch and maybe the Pre Fixe.
The food was great, but considering how mellow it was for 10:30AM the service left a little more to be desired. One of our party ordered a cappuccino, after 30 minutes it hadn't arrived so he canceled. He then decided to order a bellini and got a glass of sparkling wine instead.
Again, the food was great. If you've got time to kill, it's on a cute little corner between Lower Haight and Hayes Valley.
The escargot and duck salad were perfect but the noisy party next to us made our special night difficult to even carry on a conversation. The wine selection and price range was very good. Although the food was good, the noise level ruined our night out.
Food was good and this was our second time there pre-theatre. The first time was great and the manager was kind and caring. This one was harsh. Our server was wonderful. But the entire dining room was empty from 5 - 7 PM and they stuck us all in tiny corner tables, one on top of the other. They had two large tables set, one for 4 and one for 6, yet no one came till after 7 and we were all stacked upon each other, trying to squeeze in and out of our tables and having to listen to each others' conversations. Other tables for 2, 3, and 4 were also available along the sides -- empty. Yet we were all squashed in together. Very weird.
We were 3 and would make this a a pre-opera / theatre destination -- but we think not anymore.
Decent neighborhood restaurant. Appetizers, salad and dessert were better than the entrees, which were just ok. Server/hostess was very warm and friendly. Came early on Sunday so quiet and not crowded.
Sloooow service. Extremely slow. Good food it otherwise done
A must try one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Owner and wait staff are super friendly and are just on it.
Absolutely loved the French cuisine. I had a friend from France who raved about how good Chez Mama was but I think he would have been blown away by this place. The warm and friendly hostess made it so comfortable for us to figure out what to order without feeling any judgments. Great place to celebrate and worth every penny!
One of my favorites. Jerome is the most charming host. Small plates are large so get many wonderful tastes and skip the entrees. Cheese/ meat platter is a fab value. Cheeses are the peak of ripeness. Charcuterie made in house. Menu changes each visit so never dull. Highly recommend.
Nice neighborhood bistro in a storefront - very nice ambience with fresh flowers and good decor and would be nice for a date. If you go early enough, you can have quiet conversation. Also, there is an early bird prix-fixe which is 3 courses (not all menu selections, however) that could give a nice meal for good value . The portions are generous and many of the appetizers and desserts can be shared. Snapper is outstanding and part of the prix-fixe. The scallops were good as well, although only a la carte. Have a nice list of cocktails and wine. A very nice place and will be back.
I was so impressed with the Revelry! The service was absolutely incredible. We got a table for 6 people on Open Table quite last minute for dinner and it truly exceeded our expectations. We had two little kids with us and they were awesome with accommodating us. The food is excellent and incredibly flavourful. The wine is carefully selected. The sun setting in the windows made the already gorgeous setting that much more. Will absolutely be going again!
The front of the house and wait staff were good if not overly friendly. However, the food was very disappointing. We were here for brunch and they have a pretty eggs-benedict focused menu which was great by us. However, of the four of us that got eggs benedict half of us had eggs that were both cold AND overcooked some how. The side of potatoes were also cold for everyone at the table. We would have sent almost everything back if we weren't on our way to an appointment.
Went here on a whim and will be back! Great neighborhood bistro with high quality food and fab service. Exceeded my expectations.
We found Revelry Bistro by chance and couldn't have been more pleased. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing - french onion soup was lovingly made and a perfect portion, the cheese platter delightful and the wine selection was an assortment of French and CA wines. All the entrees were prepared to perfection. We loved the mix of people, grandparents, families, young people - everyone enjoying the delicious food and easy atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful neighborhood gem. Really enjoyed the entire evening. Great service! Food was wonderful.
This was a great place for a group of ten - we had a room to ourselves and the service was excellent.
It is quite a find! I met a friend for brunch and we both agreed that despite a strange location (we both had to walk for blocks to get there), the food was fantastic. The service was a bit strange--we didnt get offered coffee and even though we were seated first and had been waiting, the other table was served before us. The value is amazing. I highly recommend it. And it looked like they had a cute little space for birthday parties in the back.
Every dish we got was outstanding! Cute little spot not far from the main drag of Hayes Valley. We’ll be back!
Authentic French good. Great value never disappointed
Excellent brunch! Just the right proportions. Great wine selection as well!
Great neighborhood gem! The food is always reliably great. We love taking friends to this cozy spot.
We had a lovely time on Bastille Day at Revelry. The waiter was friendly and helpful. Since we're not really familiar with French wines, he helped choose our wines-by-the-glass based on what we were eating and simple descriptions of what we liked - and all his choices were really nice. The duck confit salad and country pate were especially good; I thought the bone marrow was okay but would have benefited from softer bread to soak it up. The steak with green peppercorns was perfectly cooked - could use more peppercorns for my taste, but the sauce was nicely done. In all, a very charming place and a nice change from the bustle down the hill.
The owner is very helpful The food was unique and delicious.
I plan to return often.
My family enjoyed a delicious meal following the last opera of the Ring cycle. The waiter was very attentive and friendly and all of our selections were delicious. We started with fresh oysters from British Columbia (in honor of Canada Day!) and a cheese plate, all of which were delicious. Wine selection was great and we were very happy with our choice. Location is a bit away from the cluster of restaurants in Hayes Valley, but was easy to find. My husband had inadvertently left a bag of souvenirs from the opera at the table, and Chris promptly called us to inform us, and we were able to retrieve! Thanks for a great dinner.
Perfect after Opera venue. Easy walk after hours of sitting and perfect food choices for selection to cap this evening event.
First time. Great meal and service. Friendly owner (presumed owner). Excellent experience.
This was our second visit here after attending a concert at Davies Symphony Hall. It is a pleasant walk from the symphony hall, with a bit of a hill challenge at the last couple blocks. Well worth it for this little gem.
We experienced another wonderful dinner with outstanding crudo and pleasant, personalized service.
Great neighborhood gem. We've come to Revelry a handlful of times and are always impressed with the food and service. Last visit I got the filet which was exquisite. Additionally they were able to accommodate a large reservation. I highly recommend Revelry!
Food is decent enough, but the service was truly awful.
The four of us were happy to find this bistro for brunch pre-opera (Sunday matinee), first because Revelry opens an hour earlier than most places in the area — so we had time to visit in a leisurely manner — and secondly, because it was great in every way! Comfortable neighborhood ambience, attentive and friendly service, and delicious Eggs Benedict’s prepared with many varieties of ingredients. Something for everyone’s taste. We will be back very soon!
