We were a bit rushed for dinner before a concert, but we got great service, and the food was excellent.
We sat outside which was a little noisy. Nothing they could do about that. Other than that, it was a great place to eat.
Food and drinks were delicious, and service was great too!
The food was delicious, beautifully made and presented. Drinks were good, bar service is slow.
Service was terrible. Not sure if this is b/c there were two few servers for the number of patrons? Everything took an incredibly long time and often had to ask several times about drinks / food / etc. Example, ordered a drink. After 30 minutes asked about it and then another 5-10 minutes asked about it again...
Ambience is wonderful. I have been here many times for business dinners. Quiet / nice atmosphere that is great for conversation. Food is very good as well (though it takes forever to get anything).
This place has a very weird vibe. Food is average.

The food was lovely, and our server was very attentive without being overbearing. Was very happy with our service.
We’ve been to Revival before, but not since Covid. I’m happy to report that the kitchen continues to be excellent, as does the service. With its high ceiling and spaced tables, we felt comfortable and safe. Everything was delicious—we tried a number of appetizers, mains were short ribs, seafood paella and a pizza. Everything was very good. I highly recommend Revival for a downtown Berkeley, upscale dining experience.
WE HAD AN ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS MEAL AT REVIVAL! CHEF AMY MURRAY'S DELICIOUS MENU WAS A TOTAL DELIGHT. EACH APPETIZER AND ENTREE WAS PERFECTLY CRAFTED AND COOKED TO PERFECTION. THE DESSERTS TOPPED OFF THE MEAL WITH A CREATIVE FLAIR THAT WAS PLEASING TO ALL. JUST CAN'T SAY ENOUGH HOW DELICIOUS THE FOOD WAS!!!
Great Food... We are monthly regulars here and I would like it as "excellent" if every dish came out more perfectly...
Last couple times one dish came out below expectations - the ribs were "meh" last time and time before that the calzone below par... other dishes and drinks came out very good - excellent

Entertaining guests from Paris - where to take them for a delicous meal during the pandemic? Thank goodness RBK was open! Although the indoor seating is much more beautiful and fancy, our guests opted to dine outdoors in the very functional and airy outdoor seating area. All of our meals were simply divine. Two in our party had the steak and I heard lots of "mmmm's" from them. I had the seafood paella and another had the famous fried chicken. Delicousness all around. We weren't planning on dessert but Chef Amy sent over a slice of the chocolate gateau and we were in heaven. Looking forward to our next visit!
The food was excellent but our server was rude and not helpful at answering questions at all.
I never give bad reviews, but for this one I just had too.

Tomato burrata salad was good
Drinks: I order an Arnold Palmer. The waiter suggests I try the turmeric lemonade and in the same sentence he says; they are ran out of lemonade ( we got there when the place opened. How do run out of something on your menu 10 minutes after you open?) I ask for a sample to make sure I like it. Brings drinks and he brings me an Arnold Palmer! Did I miss something?!

Would I recommend this place. No. Maybe we came on a bad day, but I would not want to give it another try.
We loved our dinner and our server. We had the vegan mezze platter, the rockfish and the ribs. The rockfish was a lighter meal and the ribs and their included sides were substantial. The mezze platter was a fun assortment of spreads and veggies which I wish I could prepare at home. Recommended
It was a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing wines, food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations.
We originally booked an outside table, but just wasn’t that inviting. Pivoted to being seated inside. The better choice. There was adequate spacing. The aesthetic was inviting.
We were seated and served by both a trainee and an experienced, great server. We knew going in that Revival had recently opened. Whatever mistakes were made, I think everyone overlooked or found excusable and to some extent entertaining. Our meal lasted two hours. We never really waited for a course. We were asked our opinions of the dishes. It was very interactive and fun.
Started with the deviled egg and the kale salad. The pickled vegetables brought more complexity than the average dill pickle. The kale salad was simply the best form of kale I’ve had. The lemon and crunchy quinoa added texture and flavor.
The main course was very good. My wife had the rock fish and I had the fried chicken. Excellent on their own (perfect), but the tapenade with the fish and the yam puree with the chicken were great. I don’t know what was in the puree. Not all yam and definitely rich with butter and cream.
We finished with the yogurt pane cotta. The yogurt added a tartness that I really liked. Try the Manhattan Project cocktail.
We will be back.
Overall the food was quite good, but not exceptional. The prices were reasonable. If you include pizza, then vegetarians will be happy. Beyond that there are several salads and appetizers, and one full plate. My wife really enjoyed the fried chicken, and our cocktails were good. Outdoor dining was nice and quiet. So quiet we used a phone to listen to some soft jazz.
We were so psyched to see the Revival was open again and it did not disappoint! The food and drinks were delicious, as we have come to expect, with a nice range of foods for eaters of all types (my wife is celiac and had plenty of great choices - not always the case!)
What we were surprised at was the service. It was superb!!! Everyone knows how tough it is for restaurants to get good staff right now so I have been cutting places a LOT of slack for poorly trained, inexperienced, short staffed issues. But not last night at Revival!!! Super attentive and charming staff! It felt like pre-COVID days. Actually better than that! We were so taken care of!

At first, I was excited to enter, feeling like the decor was cute for a date. The restaurant was not full, yet we were sat in the middle of the restaurant at a 2 top one seat with a booth side, the other a chair. The server took our order and brought out our appetizers before our drinks even arrived. The rillettes and burrata were both tasty. Shortly after the first few bites, our entree was at the table. The paella was less than palatable- tasted like old rice warmed up. Not fresh at all. Poor timing all around made for a rushed date experience. Then all the waitstaff started clearing out the tables in the room, quoting they needed to clean the carpets. Finally, they had a farewell photo shoot in front of our table for a staff who was leaving.
All in all, the environment and behaviors of the staff were underwhelming. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for many years prior to this. I feel as if the team could have worked better to seat us in a more private area knowing the rest of those activities were going to be happening.
The servers and bartender seemed annoyed/irritated when taking our order when it came to the food and drink. When we asked about certain items what was in the website menu and the actual menu the waiter seemed annoyed. Food was decent, not worth the price tag given but was okay. The charcuterie board was totally over priced for the amount of food given.
Our sincere apologies for these issues. We are in the midst of re-training the team and hiring. All staff should be informed and kind--and able to answer questions. The $27 Charcuterie has 16 ounces of protein, handmade, organic and quality. I will make sure the cooks are plating it correctly with the prescribed amounts. Thank you for your visit and feedback.
The space feels dated , lots of reclaimed wood, vintage light fixtures and filament bulbs. Very 2002. Needs an update.
Bar was decent but bartenders kept removing their masks. Kitchen staff as well. We mentioned it to hostess who replied, “I just work here.”
Food was decent, good calzone, oysters were fresh although they only offered one variety.
Outdoor seating had sparse heat lamps so it was chilly.
Thank you for your feedback, Spencer. We are 100% vaccinated and now allowed by the County to work without masks. We built out this space in 2010, as a Revival of the building, and the downtown. We would love to refresh the decor, and hope that the RRF is refunded soon so we have the funds. The Pandemic nearly killed the downtown businesses. We are grateful to have made it thru, thanks to our gracious, supportive community!
Not sure what to say this was so bad.
We were one of the first tables there, they had a ton of staff yet it took forever for people to get their food.
Bread was stale, Bloody Mary was undrinkable, French fries a soggy ball, the radishes in our radish salads were dry husks, oysters looked old and not shucked properly, even the Water tasted like the glasses were dried with dirty towels. I’m barely scratching the surface. You know when you see a hydroponic herb garden in the window and the greens are all wilted it’s not a good sign. For what it’s worth, I know I come across as difficult here but I can’t remember having ever sent back a dish anywhere or left a restaurant not being able to eat.
I give props, it must be hard coming back from the pandemic…I’m not judging like it is normal times. It was our servers first day, but that’s totally ok…he was nice and doing the best he could. Cappuccinos were very good.
Thanks for the feedback. You were difficult to please, we comped 1/2 your check, you could have stated that. Oysters came in on Friday, we sold 18 dozen, everyone loved them. The garden is a homeless project, I checked it after you posted, it was 80% vibrant. The glass polishing towels were damp/good point, fixed. And did you not like the shakshuka or benedict? The battle to survive Covid has been unreal. We are sincere in our efforts, Mother's Day is always extreme. Positivity For the Win!
Food was beyond dissapointing. The deviled eggs with rock crab and roe was practically rancid, the duck leg was as salty as the sea, and the pizza was astonishingly mediocre... Seriously, nothing tasted fresh here. The crab for the deviled eggs was hilariously briney it's ridiculous they dare to charge $16 for 6 pieces. The soggy duck was supremely salty yet under seasoned at the same time, tasting like nothing else but salt. The pizza was also a sad, soggy, and overpriced affair. Again, friends, the food here is not worth your time or your money. The server was nice and friendly, and I'm sure he would've been glad to take the food back to the kitchen with our critiques, but I'm not one to complain in front of others. We ate what we were given and left. Don't make our mistake, and please don't sit down in the first place. Also did I mention that the outdoor dining section was riddled with flies? Either the dining tables are right next to the dumpster or the rotting hay bales left outside are attracting literal swarms of flies, at least a few hundred for sure. There's a reason the reservations don't fill on a Sunday night. Trust the crowd on this one.
We are sorry our food didn't please you. Everything we make is fresh, and made to order. Picked Crab is $40/#, Salmon Keta Roe is $4 per oz, thus the cost. Our seafood is from Two by Sea, who sources from the best boats. Duck leg confit is cured in salt and 7 spices, but should not taste salty. Margherita is $18, pretty standard, and our's has burrata, a free upgrade There's no dumpster, but we've called the City to address the fly issue, who appeared with the warm Spring. Sincere Apologies

Really nothing good to say. Poor service, ordinary cocktails and food served cold. Burger was decent, fried chicken dry and flavorless, and pizza was out of a freezer.
Service and food were both excellent. Was a bit pricier than I'd expected though hence the not great value rating.
Food was overly sweet, but cooked appropriately. Excellent drinks and good service. Happy to sit inside, with a good ambiance

The food was delicious. We had the vegan Calzone and pink trout. The ambience was curbside Covid-19 vintage. Not much anyone can do about that. The service however was lacking.. Our server was not very attentive. There was a heater nearby that he put right next to twp other diners. We had to ask to share some of the heat. Highly recommend Revival Bar and Kitchen
Revival did a nice job setting up outdoors. That's kinda it for the good stuff.
The host was acting strange and we only got good service from one waiter. We didn't even have a single waiter helping us out - we probably flagged down 4 different employees throughout the night to get help (put in an order, ask for the check, etc.). The food was okay. Under-seasoned but decent dishes. A limited menu doesn't help in this regard.
I know I won't be going back, but maybe we just caught them on an off night and you'll have a better experience.
Super slow service!! Inattentive server. Ordered the brisket - it was about a 3 oz portion—half of which was fat. Dessert looked tempting but was not up to another 30 minute wait for a dessert. Had a snack when I got home.

We went for brunch before going to the Berkeley Rep. Great food and friendly service. The restaurant is very nice with a mediterranean flare. The prices were a surprise. Great value.

Service took a long time, even for drinks, even though the place was mostly empty at 7 pm. My appetizer was good, but my vegan paella was completely inedible- burned on the bottom to a one-piece solid gummy black mess, and dried out on top. It was a poorly thought through combo of whatever veggies were on hand and wouldn't have made sense anyway. The waiter asked if we all enjoyed our meals, and I shook my head sadly, but he just sort of stared and didn't follow up.
Dear Anne, Please accept my sincere apologies for your unpleasant experience on Tuesday. The paella is one of our most popular dishes--you should have enjoyed every bite. Clearly we have an issue with our kitchen staff. I am off on Tuesdays, so I unfortunately was not able to intercept the poorly executed dish. I would love to make this dish for you on your next visit, the way it should be--slightly crispy on the bottom, with an interesting tangle of sauteed vegetables on top. Chef Amy
