Very nice peolple and good food, but much too noisy.
I've been here several times when visiting SF. The food is always perfect and the small setting is great. They are very good at managing their reservations and keeping customers happy while in the restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
The food was very good and the restaurant is charming. The service was very slow and perfunctory. They seemed to be understaffed in the night we went.
Wonderful place, highly recommend! Went for birthday celebration and they treated us like special guests. This is the experience you want when you go to a restaurant knowing you will be paying at the high end.
Fantastic food and excellent service. One of the best spots we have found in SF!
- outstanding care and service
- great wine list and assistance
- owner/manager always there
- very accommodating with seating needs
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday. The restaurant owner greeted us at the door, and made sure the experience was very special. The staff is attentive, friendly, and reminded us of the wonderful food and hospitality that we experienced while visiting Italy.
Amazing food, service and ambiance.
We went for dinner on New Years Eve. Although the menu was different than what was posted online, the food was amazing. I had the gnocchi and my husband had the mozzarella chicken. We also had the squash bruschetta! Amazing! For desert you have to try the pears!
Real Italian, superb service and amazing food. Will definitely return.
I was expecting superb Italian food based on all reviews, so I admit I went there with high expectations , but sadly food here was at best - OK.
Veal was very under seasoned, the cannellini beans in grilled calamari appetizer were undercooked and under seasoned, the risotto was swimming in cheese, the seafood pasta seemed weirdly proportioned with a mound of pasta and few pieces of seafood.
On the positive note, gnocchis were light and well made.
Definitely for the price (~$80 pp) I’d expect much higher quality food. I’m afraid we won’t be back.
Chef Aldo's Ristorante Milano is always a must on our visits to S.F. His lasagna - exquisite ragu in béchamel - should be entered in the National Trust of Perfect Food! Even if you don't normally order lasagna (because of the obvious thick-layered pasta most often seen), make the exception to try this and your conversion will be permanent! Beautifully prepared and presented Fegato di Pollo and an imaginative salad rounded out our repast - but all of us are still swooning over the divine lasagna! Grazie mille & Bravo Aldo!!
Outstanding food, great service, beautiful table tucked into a little alcove with a panoramic view of the neighborhood. One of our favorite places. Will be back. Gary and Cathy.
We heard about this restaurant on "Check Please Bay Area", and it lived up to the show participants' enthusiasm. The restaurant is cozy and charming, and the service was warm and friendly and helpful. The owner, Aldo, came over to greet us. The food and wine were delicious and reasonably priced (I did splurge on house-made pasta with shaved truffles). We live on the Peninsula, but we'll make an effort to come back.
It was really great food! It was over priced. The waitress was sweet!
Our third time here(in the city 1-3 times a year and always looking for new neighborhood restaurants) so we have been here about every 2 yrs since we found Milano. And we have not been disappointed
Everything makes for an enjoyable evening dining experience. Try it—you’ll love it!
I always enjoy the food . I had lamb chops , it was delicious . The other dish was fish. White fish, very fresh and delicious too. We also share a bean salad. It was delicious . I highly recommend the restaurant. The price and portions are good. Can’t wait to go back and try their fresh homemade pasta again👍😋
Never had a bad serving or meal at RM. Aldo, the owner, is the best!
I have been before and this time was fine, but the veal scallopini was just OK this time.
This restaurant was located next to my grandfather's home that I visited as a child. I finally got the opportunity to return as an adult and I must say the visit was worth all the wait. The food was excellent, staff was attentive and the proprietor gave us his utmost attention to ensure everything was perfect. I have to emphasize again that the food was fantastic! If you are in San Francisco, this is a must-try restaurant! I hope I get to visit it again soon.
Consistently fantastic! Entire family was delighted with the food and wine!
Love the handmade pastas and the desserts are fabulous. Happy to have this little gem of a restaurant in our neighborhood.
Ristorante Milano is a true neighborhood gem: fabulous food, great service, unpretentious yet classy ambience. We feel lucky to live nearby.
Great restaurant with fantastic service and good food and wine choices - really recommended.
Always a treat. Very accommodating to our party including a 3 year old. Food and service are exquisite. Wine list is robust and fantastic finds at multiple price points.
We had a great dinner! Everyone who attended to our table was wonderful and positive and happy!
Lovely local Italian restaurant. Wine selection is great and food simple and delicious. Service is perfect.
This is a wonderful neighborhood Italian bistro where Aldo greats everyone warmly. Reminds me of Italy and always a favorite of mine. In the fall (and if you really want to
Splurge) you can ask for the White Truffle pasta which isn’t on the menu but usually available if you ask. The waiter will bring the truffle to
Your table and grate/shave truffle onto
Your pasta. This time the waiter was a bit stingy with the truffle and it seemed more like a lite grate then the past shaved white truffle pieces I have come to
Expect...especially for a $50 pasta entree. I would still recommend this special place as I have always enjoyed my time here and the food has always been delicious. Just hoping the next time the waiter will shave rather than grate the truffle and be a tad bit more generous.
We have been coming to Ristorante Milano since 1992. It has never failed us. Aldo owner is always welcoming. The food is always spectacular!!!!
per demote gratitude per te
We went to Ristorante Milano for my husbands 30th Birthday and it was more than phenomenal! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to celebrate, or enjoy a lovely time. I recommend this place for parties of 6 or less. We began our dinner with glasses of Italian red wine, bruschetta as starters, the gnocchi and ravioli for entrees, and tiramisu for dessert. The ambiance was delightful, and the staff made us feel like we were apart of the family. We will be back the next time we are in town!
Delicious authentic Italian food with great presentation and attentive service.
Excellent food and service. I live in the neighborhood and Restorante Milano is always our go to restaurant to impress out-town visitors! We will come again soon.
A wonderful evening and spectacular meal. Could not have been better!
Great food, pretty restaurant, super friendly staff!
Fabulous neighborhood restaurant!
The experience at Ristorante Milano is consistent. The food is well portioned and a good variety. The service is helpful and authentic.
It's was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. Solid 4 star experience.
We really enjoyed dinner at Milano! We had sardines and calamari for starters then the Halibut special and the veal loin. All were perfectly prepared and generous portions. The service was attentive and quick. We will be back to this lovely Nob Hill neighborhood classic!
