The food was fantastic, however limited range for vegetarians/vegan options considering the price. Staff were welcoming, super fast service and great approach .Will defo be going again :)))
We are really looking forward to this, but sadly let down by terrible service.
They came to take our food order before we were asked if we would like drink, then the still water came as fizzy water, the food arrived when we were still waiting for the wine (they forgot), they brought sesame seeds to the table after being told 4 times that there was a nut allergy, this could have been quite serious. To add further insult it was the same waiter that was told not to bring sesame, that brought the sesame over! - 2 beers were on the bill, but only one was brought to the table,
Im sure they can get it right in the end, but their staff really had no idea what was going on as they clearly have not worked in hospitality before.
The management are not briefing their staff about what food and wine is available or indeed, how to do their job & how a meal works.. pretty poor show eclipsing the lovely food that the kitchen is making.
Excellent food and service. Nice ambience and can highly recommend
Beautifully presented food, delicious, but rather expensive. Staff delightful and elegant premises.
Excellent cuisine, good service, nice atmosphere
Lovely feeling of buzz when you walk in - its busy here - but overall we agree with a few other comments that a small piece of cod however you cook it, is not good value for £28 - it came with no other things with it - they were extra. So, it left you with a rather ripped off sort of feeling - the 4 of us had main meals - no starter and no dessert - just one bottle of wine and it came to £55 each. I know everyone has had difficulties with staff recently but there needs to be more training here as one of the basic things when you train staff is to not clear the plates until everyone has finished - that didn't happen here. Also, we don't eat Japanese food very often - so when a little guidance from the staff was requested it was met with' 'its all nice'.
Incredible food and service - quite expensive but genuinely a quality restaurant with real vibrant atmosphere and service…
Incredible food - so totally delighted to have such a high calibre Japanese restaurant in Bath - service and staff were excellent. A must visit. We will be back ASAP!
Fantastic food, ambience and service. My wife and I were looking for a special place to have dinner with our son who we now never see as he is at university in Bath. Robun hit the spot. Every single dish was exquisitely presented and delicious. Can’t fault it in any way.
A great experience, the food and drink are second to none. The service, whilst a bit quick, was impeccable. A great experience will return for definite.
Amazing vibes excellent service and delicious food
Food was excellent
Service definitely still in that tricky early stage. We waited 1.5 hours for 2 of our dishes that were forgotten.
We hope to return when the service has become much slicker
Lovely evening. Great service. Couple of sharing dishes were quite a lot a replicated individual sushi dishes ie 8 tuna ones as a sharing sharing dish. Picking holes though. I'd go again.
Interesting and tasty food with lovely flavour combinations. Staff seem very well-trained because the service was efficient and proffesional, more like London than Bath in that respect. Our server Leah was excellent.
Would recommend and visit again.
Only negative point is some of the portions were a bit expensive for their size, ie: Wagyu Beef, chicken skewers.
A very welcome addition to the dining scene in Bath. Early days but will certainly be back!
Quite pricey - kept waiting too long on drinks and large dish.
Robun is a welcome addition to Bath’s culinary scene.
The flavours are authentic. A delight to the palate.
Chef John and his team will not fail to impress.
Great food, great atmosphere good service. Had a very pleasant evening
Food was good but experience let down with poor service. As soon as we had been seated we were told in a brusque manner; "we need to have this table back in two hours" which was entirely unnecessary, not a great welcome and neither explained when booking, immediately putting us on the back foot.
A member of staff then whisked away the wine glasses before we'd been given the drinks menu which again made us feel that we were being hurried.
Unfamiliar with the menu we asked for help and recommendations; we would have appreciated someone taking us through the many options...what we got was very different, our server said "it's like tapas but I'm not supposed to say that" and upon asking whether the prawns were good, the response was "not my favourite" and a shrug. Again, it felt very rushed.
We had one vegetarian diner in our party & all vegetarian dishes came first which meant that she was pretty much eating solo. Had we been given a better description of the menu options I feel this could have been avoided. All vegetarian food apart from the rice had been eaten before anything else arrived at the table.
At one point in the evening an unfinished glass of Prosecco was removed from the table and staff, noticing our reaction returned to apologise, saying they would come back with "something special". The 'something special' was a half inch of freshly poured Prosecco in the glass and at this point we felt that we were in some sort of alternative Basil Fawlty style reality! (and thank you to the server who kindly pointed out that "this is a spoon" when placing it next to the rice).
We finished the meal by ordering one sorbet selection, asking for four spoons. Dessert was delicious and thank goodness we had decided to share....I think it should be made very clear on the menu that it is actually a sharing dessert!
Our meal was over well within our two hour 'time limit' phew!
There is a 12.5% service charge added to the bill.
Delicious food and lovely atmosphere. A much needed up market restaurant in Bath.
Stylish restaurant. Looks the part. Sadly food was a mixed bag. Maki rolls disappointing. If you are going to charge those prices, everything needs to be of a high standard. It was 2pm so very quiet but shouldn’t mean standards drop.
The food was absolutely delicious, a little on the higher price side but the food was well worth the cost. Tables were slightly close together but the ambience was really vibrant and staff were very attentive. I would book again
The interiors were pleasant and beautiful, the food taste was average in comparison to expensive prices they had.
We asked for two drinks, one was a coke and another was a cocktail- my cocktail only came in after my 3 starters
They were kind enough to not charge it but we weren’t sure about the mains and how long it would take well as the taste profile, hence we left after the starters and no drink.Wouldn’t visit this place again.
Service was phenomenal. It was clearly important to the staff that we not only enjoyed the food, but that we were having a good time. We ordered the Baby Shrimp, black cod, paper thin salad, grilled aubergine (a must!), salmon sashimi…ice cream sampler for dessert - perfect combination and the quality was next level. I think we ordered six cocktails & mocktails between us. We liked our table as well. In between two larger sections, we were tucked away from larger groups, but still felt part of a lively scene.
Care and attention to detail was obvious on every plate. Outstanding meal served by attentive and knowledgeable staff. Thanks for a great experience.
Great authentic Japanese food and amazing service!
Absolutely amazing food, drinks and service! 10/10
Food was excellent, service was good too. However it is not a high end restaurant as we thought. It felt more like a slightly upmarket fast food joint as it was very very noisy. Not really the restaurant’s fault but some of the patrons were extra noisy and it really killed the vibe. Do try the khimchi fried rice and the skewers.
Absolutely stunning. We enjoyed the most fabulous meal this evening and cannot wait to go back. The quality and presentation of the food is matched only by the fabulous service and attention to detail. This is not a cheap meal but one that is definitely value for money. The ambience and decor sets the scene and we were instantly made to feel special. The food and drinks menu is plentiful, varied and catering for all tastes.
Fantastic sushi, finally, in Bath! Amazing buzzy place to eat. Presentation of food amazing – love the little edible flowers. Great cocktails, great sake. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!
Excellent meal. Cannot wait to return.
Lovely room, attentive staff, and delicious food. Great spot for a romantic dinner or just a relaxing meal. Make sure you order the sorbet or ice cream sampler for desert!
Worst service I’ve ever had
The first 2 items we ordered on the menu were out of stock, so not a great start. The waitress didn’t really know about the food and had to ask. The food came all out of sync which was ok but we kept having to ask about it. The food was very good but for the price that’s what I would have expected.
So for an expensive restaurant it wasn’t at the right level. It was good enough.
Fantastic food. Lively design and atmosphere. Did I mention the great food!
After arrival in bath with no dinner reservation. We were very lucky to get a spot somewhere, anywhere. Myself and my 2 boys had the best dinner and experience for a long time. I've been to Japan. And struggled to find anything that come close in the UK. We have now! Bloody fantastic. Our waitresses was actually amazing. That was the freshest fish I've eaten for a while . And we're from Cornwall! And I sell seaweed to chefs lol. Many thanks to the team deffo
Amazing place to dine anytime of the day
Staff were wonderful
Will be back!!
An enjoyable eating experience, food cooked exceptionally well. Staff friendly and helpful. Wine reasonably priced. We will definitely return.
If you would like to try real Japanese taste, Robun is your choice!
Their sashimi and rolls were fresh and presented with Japanese style, but what surprise me the most were their hot dishes and dessert!
Black cod - the cooked time was just perfect to make the fish cooked but slip; the Teriyaki sauce was very nice as well;
Ribeye wagyu - Japanese wagyu served with a heating pan to keep the meat warm, perfect to match with pepper sauce
Dessert - the Japanese mochi and Japanese style pancake were really delicious and presented very delicate.
Can feel the chef made the food with heart, and the service was nice as well. This is the restaurant I tried in the Southwest with the closest Japanese taste.
Sure will try again and I wish the restaurant can keep the high standard and enrich the menu to present more delicious Japanese food!
Absolutely fabulous evening with the team from Robun. Food was incredible and full of flavour, the cocktails complimented it perfectly.
