Good food, high prices. I liked the atmosphere.
We are in SF for a weekend getaway and found this restaurant on Open Table. The food did not disappoint. My husband ordered the wagyu filet and I ordered the black cod. Both were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service was phenomenal and our food came out at just the right time! We will definitely return.
This place is outstanding ~ go hungry as there are so many good options to choose from, also a great drink menu.
A “must try” restaurant! Service was fantastic, if you haven’t tried the A5 Wagyu “Drunken” it’s a must try if it’s on the menu! We were on the way to France & were waffling between steak or Japanese food. This place fit the bill perfectly as we were able to “kill two birds with one stone!
Highly priced and food is mediocre at best. I went with my friend and we both got sick after eating the steak tartare. Followed up with the restaurant but they didn't respond.
Our group loved it. That was the best meal I have had in a long time. Absolutely outstanding! The Wagyu was worth every cent. Best steak I have ever had in my life.
Excellent value/superb food and helpful and friendly staff . I am disabled and hostess accompanied us to the bar via elevator . She went the extra mile and made a great impression. We will be back on our next trip to San Francisco
I had one of the Wagyu, absolutely amazing. The Salmon belly was also delicious. Loved this place so much, can’t wait to come back again.
The business lunch was fabulous. all three of us enjoyed it very much. Service was excellent. Very good value! Highly recommended!!! My only suggestion is to NOT use disposable chopsticks at such a fine establishment. Everything else is perfect!
Had a birthday which they remembered and that was great! But they put us wayyyyyyyy back in the corner around a wall blocked off from the rest of the restaurant. Food was great, service was great, def will go back!
The food were tasty but also really salty. Also The ambiance is really loud.
The food is amazing but really expensive in my opinion. Plus the restaurant is so noisy you can barely have a one to one discussion.
Food never disappoints! Fresh and flavourful! Great place for colleagues and friends. Amazing desserts - sorbet and ice cream made fresh and flavours change daily. Always pleasantly surprised.

When last at Roka Akor 4y ago, the sablefish was brilliant and fresh and smoky, and the hamachi as good as any in the city.
I don't know what's happened, but the prices are up and — based on this one dinner — the quality is down. The sablefish was slightly overcooked and somewhat fishier than this fish should ever be. The lamb was fairly insipid, with little mutton flavor and an unexciting rub. And the hamachi and maguro nigiri were unremarkable.
The butter corn and the fancy and unagi gunkan were top notch, so the restaurant can still perform. But not evenly.
Service was cheery and unusually competent for San Francisco, which has very low standards.
I hope this was a Monday-kitchen blip. I'll try again.
We were charged over $100 more than we expected. If there was a second Omikase menu price, it was not disclosed to us until we saw the bill. We tried to contact Roka Akor and have not heard back.
Everything tasted amazing and the server gave us free champagne for sending the wrong order. The desert was AMAZING and the portions were huge. So glad Ingot to spend my birthday here with my friends.
We had omakase with sake pairing. It was one of the most delicious meal i’ve ever had. Their sushi quality really good and omakase comes with a lots of variety that u don’t feel like sick of eating same stuff. 5 course meal was more than i could eat. The dessert at the end of one of the best dessert plate i’ve ever had. It has two different a scoop of sorbets, fruit pieces, mango pudding and the divine chocolate lava cake with Madagascar vanilla ice cream. I had many chocolate lava cake but this was the best!!
Sake pairing experience was superb that something different then wine pairing and It was well thought out. Every sake was complementing the food that was paired with also cleaned the palate every bite.
The star of the course was A5 samurai wagyu. They serve it on the ceramic plate with green tea leaves with smoke. It was very appetizing from the presentation. It’s almost hard to explain how good the wagyu was.
I highly recommend this place!! And yes please upgrade to A5 or samurai wagyu for the full experience!!

The four of us had the Omakase for$138 each, and added on two orders of wagyu beef and bone marrow. The entire dinner was delicious, so fun seeing each unique dish presented. Very creative menu. The portions were generous. The dessert platter was amazing.

Excelente opción. La comida es extraordinaria. La atención inmejorable. Cuando se iban a demorar un poco en el siguiente pedido, se acercaron a la mesa para avisarnos. Pero no solo eso, por la pequeña demora, de cortesía, nos trajeron unos sashimi’s muy sabrosos. Son muy atentos y serviciales. La calidad es excelente. Sin duda volveremos!

Roka Akor has been on my list for quite some time now. It definitely lived up to the hype. We ordered the corn and brussel sprouts, both were beyond phenomenal. My friend had been there previously and highly recommended the corn. She is vegetarian and ordered the fried tofu dish which she loved. I ordered the Hamachi Serrano Chili roll. We topped off the whole experience with the out of this world chocolate cake and ice cream. It is an absolute must. I will definitely be back again!

Our server did not ask us how we wanted our 3 steaks that we ordered when we went out as a group of 4 and did not give all of us chopsticks so we had to steal some off of another table and the server also did not introduce us of show us anything on the menu even when telling him it was our first time the food came out rare when my friend wanted medium and we were not attended to the whole time after we received our food and after spending 270$ we cleaned up the table ourselves because there was no elbow room to relax and talk afterwards the food was good could have been better if he would have asked us for our preferences and the service was horrible for the price I would gladly rather go to Fleming’s in Walnut Creek amazing service and food cooked to perfection !
Roka Akor was amazing. Definitely pricey but worth it— the Omakase delivers great value with good portion sizes and amazing dishes. Will keep this on my list for special occasions.

I’m so glad I discovered this place via Open Table. It was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a very long time. I got to seat at the counter by the kitchen and it was incredible! To be close up to see how they work and craft the food. And the executive chef, Roman, is an artist. The salmon was superb. The corn - you must get this corn! The service was just terrific. I think people must eat there all the time and forget to appreciate how special it is. I will definitely be back! Truly outstanding.

Food is always AMAZING! The NY Steak and mushroom and Salmon teriyaki, the heirloom tomato salad, yellowtail Hamachi jalapeno roll and wagyu beef - all great choices. Desserts do not disappoint either. Servers are very attentive and professional. Great for business or pleasure.
