One of a kind food (outside London). Unfortunately, several wine selections were unavailable due to them being moved to their new location. This forced us to spend more than we planned on wine. This led to a service downscore. The way that Rooh should have dealt with this was to give the customer the $110 replacement for the $85 of the originally chosen wine.
Really enjoyed our meal and were impressed with the elevated flavours of Indian food! Service was great too and surprised us with a special treat for our occasion. Would love to go back and try more dishes
Service at the bar was lacking attention, courtesy and even presence. Table service was polite, welcoming and pleasing.
Very pleasant. Everything we ordered was delicious and had a creative flare. The presentations were beautiful, and the kitchen accommodated both my request for spicy and my companion’s request for mild seasoning. The service was great - both friendly and professional. My only complaint was the dearth of vegan/non-dairy options, especially on the desert menu.
Food was excellent. We felt a little rushed at first but then the servers settled in with our speed. Mains came out very fast. Made it to the table before our drinks and appetizer.
Great place for a group dinner or lunch. Great service, great food.
Love the food at this place. The Paneer pinwheel and the kathi rolls are a must-have.
We tried Octopus for the very first time and it turned out to be the best meat ever for us. All the dishes were amazingly tasteful. The lamb that we ordered was melting..something that we were amazed to see as never have eaten such soft lamb. Already have recommended 10 of our friends already!!!
Rooh is a gem of this area. I've been there twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner, and each time I've been so impressed and thoroughly satisfied. The two sharing platters are _both_ awesome, definitely recommend, and the besan burfi dessert is decadent. 10/10, do recommend.
The food at ROOH is so exceptionally good. It is intensely flavorful and richly spiced— both creative and authentic to its Indian roots. I always want to go back for more immediately after dining at ROOH.
Went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We had some dietary restrictions and the staff was super accommodating. Chef Pujan and GM stopped by our table to make sure everything was okay. It’s the best India restaurant in the Bay Area. My go to spot!
Went for Saturday brunch, was greeted and seated less than a minute! Food was as usual good - amazing taste and innovative presentation!
server messed up our order
food did not taste great
Great meal to celebrate team success
Was good experience
Our second time there and the waiter recognized us and made us feel welcome. The food was amazing and they even brought us out a great pistachio ice cream dessert for our anniversary. Can’t wait to return!
We decided to try the restaurant after having heard about it from friends. I wouldn’t give it more than 3 stars as I found it overrated. The food was just average as was the service. We enjoyed the cocktails but decided to skip dessert.
Food has deteriorated in quality and quantity. It's pricey for what it is - There are only a few appetizers that are the quality for the price. The remaining menu isn't as appealing as you would expect from a place this fancy.
Innovative modern Indian cuisine
Great service, pretty restaurant
Very good and innovative appetizers. Main Course of classic indian dishes were good but not any different than other good indian restaurants in the Bay Area. Decor is modern and is better than any other Indian restaurant in the Bay Area.
Website advertised live music for brunch there was no music. Menu on website was different than was was available. Ordered Macaroni dish with chicken. The dish came without the macaroni. So asked the waiter, apparently the chef forgot to put macaroni in an entree that was called macaroni. The dish was replaced but the other person had finished eating.
Great tasting Indian food and desert .. elevated by modern cooking techniques but Spotty table service and inattentive servers spoilt the overall experience
Came on a recommendation from friends. We loved it and would gladly pass on the recommendation
It was my wife birthday on 05/21 and we decided to go ROOH, it was the best Indian restaurant I have ever gone.
The ambience, food, service was just amazing.
Congratulations to the team of ROOH for delivering amazing food.
The staff were very accommodating of our group of 5. We tried dishes from all the different sections of the menu and enjoyed the variety. Highly recommend the crunchy potato paneer dish, the naan with chutneys was fun to sample, the pulao was delicious, and the tuna was also one of our favorites. Don’t miss the duck kebabs! The butter chicken was good, not great, and the romanesco came in a heavy but delicious sauce. The cocktail menu was laid out in a fun way and our group enjoyed the unique flavors of the drinks. The staff was very attentive and on the ball.
We really enjoyed our meal and celebration.
Food was wonderful, creative and beautifully presented and it tasted great. It is definitely a modern twist on Indian food. There was no choice in decreasing spice level. The atmosphere was semi formal, but i assumed it was formal for a higher end Indian restaurant. Noise level was up as bar runs across 75 percent of the restaurant. I expected table clothes and silver set, nicely. I think the staff is also not fully fluent on meal choices, but it could have been just my waiter. I found the reservations accommodating with kind staff.
We will be back. So much fun. It was a bday celebration
Waiter was extremely rude. Food was less than average.
Great service, amazing food! This is now one of our favorite restaurants in SF!
The presentation, food, service, and staff all were good. But, it's a very pricey Indian restaurant. Perhaps the overall quality justifies the value? I don't think I fully agree with that.
But, I enjoyed the dinner n so did my guests, which perhaps makes up for that.
This was my second time here at ROOH.
I spent lunch with my wife celebrating her birthday and they made it extra special with a touch of nice dessert on the house. The foods are outlandish and excellent!
The food was incredible - reminiscent of traditional Indian flavors but presented in a new and beautiful way. All of the wait staff were incredibly kind, and attentive to my peanut allergy! Even though we had three different people bring out dishes, each made sure to confirm all the dishes were peanut-free and to warm me of the ones that were not. Highly recommend for any special occasion!
Great price fixe menu. Service could’ve been more attentive. They did run out of one of the desserts we ordered and didn’t tell us until the last min.
The food was spectacular and the service was attentive and charming but not overbearing. We were talking about our dinner the next day and agreed it was one of the best Indian restaurants we have eaten at in the Bay Area. We will definitely be back.
Not only did they forget a part of our order but once we told them about it (3x throughout the meal), they profusely apologized and said they were sending out 2 orders to make up for the oversight. Only 1 came!!!! Plus, we asked for more of a specific sauce - which they reminder us would be an additional $2.00 (tacky for a high end restaurant). They finally brought out the sauce after 2 reminders. It was a completely different sauce which they tried to play off as being the same.
The service was extremely poor at this restaurant.
Food was Excellent. Wait staff patiently explained food itemswe were not familiar with. Our 2nd visit there
Jeoffrey was extremely nice and courteous. He took care of all the specifics ( seat location, dietary restrictions etc) I requested for. Definitely going back again to this place. Loved the food.
For sure one of the best high-end Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. Excellent creative food with really good service. Love this place and I don't write positive reviews lightly. Highly recommended. I will be back.
