My favorite mozzarella sticks ever. Specialty pizzas are cool and decently varied. Beer list is great. A little understaffed - servers seemed somewhat overwhelmed, but understandable given they were just opening with the new COVID restrictions and probably didn’t know how to estimate the number of patrons who would come out.
I typically love Roots and I was excited to be back to support them since I couldn’t do delivery. Sadly we had to move tables 3 different times and couldn’t use the restroom to wash our hands because the bathrooms flooded with zero apologies given. Our food was rushed out, and I ordered a pizza to-go. Sadly that pizza was extremely undercooked, it was basically raw dough. Roots really let me down this time to a point where I’m not sure if I want to return again.
Thank you Alana and staff for being so accommodating and welcoming! We had some specific food restrictions with one of our guests and they could not have been more patient and informative. We will come back for brunch for years to come and tell all of our friends! Cheers!
As a Quad Cities native I was very interested in trying a pizza that claims to represent the area. Happily, I was not disappointed. I ordered a sausage and mushroom and what I received very well could have come out of the oven at Harris Pizza. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and the overall atmosphere was enjoyable.
We came here for dinner before a Blackhawks game. It was not overly busy but the service was horrible. We had to ask our server at least 3 times to get the check as we were already pressed for time. Food took a very long time to make, despite orders being simple (sausage on a bun). Our meals were mostly over-cooked and bland. Only thing I would recommend are the beverages and mozzarella sticks. Otherwise, head somewhere else along this road.. plenty of places to check out!
Food quality is good. Really recommend the popcorn chicken. The taco pizza is good, however if you’re looking for a taco pizza like you would get at Happy Joe’s or Casey’s in Iowa, this is not the same. Also, make sure to ask for a regular triangle cut pizza if you get the taco pizza; strip cut taco pizza is not easy to eat
We had a great lunch and enjoyed the food.
Get the bangers and lace pizza!
Pizza was great! Great place that has options for vegans. Server was really nice. Attentive but not pushy. Honey lemon dressing for salad is delicious!
Food wasn’t good at all, we drove by a few weeks ago and thought it looked cute and left disappointed
Great for all ages. Nice when the weather is nice and they can open the large windows!
Great pizza and mozzarella sticks! Awesome selection of craft beers! Great service!
Restaurant was busy.
Great pizza and absolute best moz sticks I’ve ever had in my life!
Roots is always delicious, fun and fast service. Every time we are in the city we try to make it over and grab a booth to enjoy some drinks, the great pizza and whatever game is going on.
Seated promptly with reservation. Service was excellent.
We loved the big booths at Roots; perfect for our party of 6. The food was amazing. Definitely has a bit of a sports bar vibe, but the food was definitely worth the trip.
the food was fine, the beer choices great, the music in the background was so loud we couldn't hear each other...that put a damper on things for us....
Great for kids!! Very salty chicken and veggie noodle soup, good fries and wine and the pizza is good too!
Love this place, waitress Erika was incredibly helpful
I love Roots Pizza - everything on the menu is delish!
Roots never disappoints. The pizza is amazing, with so many different topping options to be as basic or as funky as you want. But the best part about this place is that while it's a pizza place the rest of the menu is great. The appetizers are unreal (can't go wrong with the garlic monkey bread or homemade mozzarella sticks) and the build your own salad option is great if you're looking for something lighter or to share as a table. There is a bar in the center, but it's absolutely a kid friendly restaurant. I've also been in the past where they do a nice job accommodating for a large group.
Roots is know for drawing crowds of people who come in search of pizza. The pizza is very good (must order something with their sausage on it), but I've recently been coming to Roots for their build-a-salad. Unbelievable list of ingredients, huge portion, loaded with stuff, incredibly fresh - I would eat a salad here every day. HIGHLY recommend.
One of the most family friendly places in the neighborhood
We love the hummus and Korean pizza. Been there 3 times and that is all we have had!
I made a reservation for 8 people thru open table. I had never been there before but was going on a friend's recommendation. I'm very happy I took her advice! upon arriving a table had already been put aside with my name on it. Our server was attentive and helpful. I was there with a group from an organization I'm involved in and don't everyone well so when they asked for separate checks, as a former server, I cringed a little. anyway, our server didn't blink an eye and said "absolutely!" (not advocating others do this. just saying I'm used to more attitude around a request like this. lol). the food was so good and reasonably priced. didn't have a cocktail but those who did said they were delicious! will definitely return.
Delicious pizza with a great tasting crust plus a nice salad with wonderful fresh mozzarella. The only drawback, getting there from downtown in rush hour traffic.
Awesome restaurant with a wide variety on the menu. Would definitely return as there was too much on the menu to order at one sitting. Root beer was delicious with lunch. The seating meaning the booths are comfortable...very generous in size which is great for a group.
Sever great , lack of management to keep servers operating at top speed. Speed noticeable decreased as management cut staff and offered no help to maintain speeds. Need plan and clearly, line out expectation, during different days of week using weekly, daily and hourly statistics analysis.
Awesome food and service
Just ok pizza. Nothing special
Very very very slow service. 2.5 hours for dinner. Way too long for a kid-friendly restaurant.
Always love going to Roots! Hands down my favorite pizza, even if you only get cheese! The crust is THE BEST!!!!!!!
One of our favorite go-tos for pizza & wings. Also love the tap beer selection.
Great food and service!
Met some friends here from out of town for the outdoor dining and relaxed vibe (we have kids) but the service was slow and hey were out of utensils and the food was just ok in my opinion.
