Rosa Mexicano by Lincoln Center
Awesome fun place
Good food and ambiance for family or date night, server dropped the ball and was hardly seen. So frustrating when trying to order another round of drinks. Frozen pomegranate margarita is the way to go!
Best Mexican food in New York!
I was quite disappointed in this venue. The guacamole which had a great reputation was bland even though they assured me it would be flavored " hot". The pork belly tacos were tasteless and extremely overcooked and quite like cardboard. They were served dry. I live nearby and eat out frequently often through openTable but will remove this place from my list.
Best part of this place are the drinks and guacamole. The other food is really good, but overly expensive for what it is. The appetizers and drinks are amazing, and goes along with the nice ambience.
Pre-opera date and dinner with my husband. Good food, great drinks. Always a fun stop before a Lincoln Center event.
We enjoyed out meal thoroughly. I had the skirt steak and my dining partner had the salmon. Dessert truffles were also delicious! Staff was able to handle a full house easily and all were very friendly. We would definitely return!
The service took quite awhile to get started. Had to call the waiter to our table versus being approached after waiting over 15 minutes. It was very busy on a rainy Saturday at 1:15PM.
But once we got rolling the service improved. The food was delicious and the guacamole was to die for. The pomegranate margarita is famous and deservedly so! Great afternoon spent with a dear friend at Rosa Mexicano.
On this visit for brunch I had the Josefina, a good dish, but apparently it is cooked beforehand and heated up, probably in a microwave, to serve. The interior of my serving was cold.
Worse food. Complete waste of money. Disappointed.
The food and table service were very good but we were kept waiting in the cramped entrance for 20 minutes after our reservations.
The hostess at the entrance and the hostess upstairs do not seem to communicate, so my requests were not communicated as to sitting arrangement. It took awhile to get a “decent” table even though there were plenty.
Our waiter Peter was Absolutely Extraordinary and Fantastic!!! A real pleasure: very attentive, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional!!!
Food was good, but in ny humble opinion too pricey for its value.
Kudos to Peter!!!
We are from Texas, Rosas has a really good chips and salsa. Pomegranate margaritas are awesome.
The food is good for a night out. The Upper East Side one though is my favorite.
I miss the some items on your old menu, but your waiters are great and can usually get the kitchen to make what we like.
This was the best experience I have ever had in a Mexican restaurant! The flavors were unique and interesting and fresh without being overpowering. Staff was friendly and attentive. Our next trip to New York will include Rosa Mexicano for sure.
The view from the second floor is grand and we were not rushed at all
There is nothing like Rosa Mexicana in NYC. The food, service and ambiance is outstanding! Can’t wait to go back!
Average food. Service was solid at first, but dissolved one the meal was served. We had to take the bill to the manager at the hostess station as we could not get the waiter to pick up our credit card.
Guacamole was too cold and bland, even though we asked it to be moderately spicy. The Empanadas were terrible. They tasted like frozen packaged ones, and a little sweet too. My entree of Shrimp were just OK, nothing special, and they were not that hot. They seemed like they were sitting too long before served. What the place has going for it is that they have nice large round tables which are good fro groups, but I would not go back.
Had a great time, great service. Bottomless was a must. You can switch out and try every drink. And every drink was amazing. They don’t rush you out like a lot of places do during brunch time.
The occasion was a birthday and what they lacked in service and overall food quality they made up for in ambiance. Very intimate setting. The Happy Birthday they sang also could have made the experience better. It was a very bland gesture, seemed forced. Overall, I’d definitely return and try something else.
Rosa Mexicano is always an amazing experience. The service is exceptional and professional. The food is always delicious. We had several of the botanas (small appetizers from Puebla Mexico) and they were delicious. I particularly enjoyed the lamb tacos (tacos Arabes) and chicken mole sopes. My main dish was the fajitas de pollo which is always excellent.
A very handy spot for dinner or drinks when you're at the Lincoln Center and to make it a special night.
Fun family dinner. The service is excellent. The food was all delicious. Some portions were very large and good to share like the pork shank entree. We all enjoyed ourselves. Great bar too
Noisy, food poor and tasteless
Saving grace was the margarita
Popular restaurant across the street from Lincoln Center. Reservations recommended. Food quality is very good and service is friendly and attentive. The menu is more interesting than your usual Mexican restaurant and their mixed drink options are also very good.
Wonderful place to go for excellent food, period.
Different take on traditional Mexican food.
Service was excellent. The restaurant had a spacious and airy ambiance even though we we sitting at a cramped tiny table for 2 where I kept bumping the person behind me.
Food was really good and I will return.
Always great service and good food.
Ambiance, service and food all excellent
When our party of 6 arrived at the restaurant for our 9PM reservation we were told that the upstairs had ben closed and we would have to sit downstairs. the upstairs is a well designed and beautiful restaurant with tablecloths and views out of nice windows with round tables (that we had requested). The downstairs has wooden tables in a dingy side area, no tablecloths and is a downscale looking space. No where on the reservation form was there a notice that the upstairs could be closed. Indeed when we looked upstairs there were many occupied tables, the manger had just decided that bsuihnses was slow so he would close the upstairs early, disregarding our previously made 9 PM reservation. We left and went to
Atlantic Grill around the corner and had a fabulous dinner with excellent service. We will not return to Rosa Mexicana and warn other customers about making reservations on Open table for this restaurant.
Hi, the quality of the food used to be much better and It came out of the kitchen Luke warm . Definitely not as good as it used to be. Not sure if I will be returning..,
The night began on a sour note. It seems that they overbooked. Our reservation was for 6 and we did not get seated until 45 minutes later.
Stephanie is the best ever. She gave all those waiting a complimentary drink.
She also gave my son and I complimentary dessert.
All hail Stephanie for getting things situated.
Our family, 3 generations, always dine at Rosa Mexicano before heading to Lincoln Center. Great food, fast & friendly service. Always a good time.
Reservation was honored on time. Bit of a wait for drink order but service otherwise attentive, pleasant and not intrusive. Food was excellent! great location for Lincoln Center or Dizzy's for jazz. With slight decrease in noise level would give 5 Stars instead of 4.5.
I've been coming to various Rosa Mexicano locations in NYC for several years. Always have a good meal and drinks. While we always enjoyed the food, we were happy to see that the menu has been updated -- we really enjoyed the "small dishes" and the newer signature cocktails. Overall a good place for food and drinks with friends, overlooking Lincoln Center.
Had a great meal there on 1/7/20. Guacamole was perfect as usual. Service was great. Great dining experience.
The food was good. Was hoping some more seasoning in the meat dishes.
Unfortunately there was a horrible odor in the women’s bathroom was unbearable for my girlfriend. Assuming this wasn’t an everyday occurrence.
Overall it was good.
The sauces and fillings of the enchiladas were tasty but they were barely warm. The pork carnitas was dry and some pieces were quite tough. The guacamole was very good. The beans and rice were barely warm.
