Rosebud on Rush
Best Italian restaurant in Chicago- never disappointed with the quality of food and service at this restaurant...
I come to Chicago for Neocon each year and make Rosebuds a must stop. Food is outstanding, service is top notch. And it won't break a straight commission reps bank...…….
Rosebud was amazing. I used to live in Chicago and never made it there. When a place has been around as long as this, it would be easy to take shortcuts with food and training, but everything was wonderful. The staff was all friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We never felt rushed or like they were trying to upsell anything. We got plenty of attention without anyone hovering. And the food was fantastic.
My ONLY complaint (and it's minor) is the noise level. We wished it were a little quieter so we could hear each other better. BUT we could put up with it for the length of dinner, and everyone was having a good time. Highly recommended.
Our waitress Kate was wonderful and took great care of our party. The food (surf and turf, bone-in veal parm, sea bass) all excellent.
We were downstairs and our table was adjacent to the bar. A group had gathered at the bar and were quite loud and standing right against our chairs. However, they were eventually seated at their table and the rest of the evening very enjoyable.
Most delicious Italian. Homemade pasta a must!!!!
We were in the City for the weekend and it was a great way to wrap things up before heading home. We never miss an opportunity for brunch at Rosebud - great food, great service and love eating outside!
Coming from Europe it is always difficult to know the size of each serving. However, Rosebud delivers on the over large portion size such that one order would comfortably feed 2 people. Ideally go as a 4 and then if you prefer to each your own main course you can definitely share a couple of the sides between you all.
The Cauliflower was great although the greens were a little too hard.
We had a table facing the street tucked around the corner which did a reasonable job of insulating us from the 'hubbub' in the main restaurant!
But a lovely place to eat with great service. Just be cautious with the amount of dishes you order if you are not to leave lots of food on your plate!
Extensive menu with so much to choose from .. something for everyone with pasta, seafood, meat, salads. Great quality food and ample servings. Attentive service.
From the time we walked through the door we had nothing but fine service. Hostesses sat us immediately even though we arrived half hour sooner than our reservation. Waiters (both of them) served with a smile. Happy birthday was sang beautifully to my partner by the maître d'! I have nothing but good to say about one of our favorite restaurants to dine with when we visit Chicago!
Thank you all for making her birthday even greater!!
The spicy calamari was tasty but drenched in sauce that ruined it being fried and crispy. The veal marsala badly needed salt and came with nothing. The veal was tender but the sauce was bland and no heads up that nothing besides meat was coming. Surprisingly very very disappointing experience for my first visit.
Long time visitor and Rosebud never disappoints. Old style Italian with great service. This is a can’t miss spot in a great location.
In Chicago for ASCO 2019
Attended with a colleague - good service ambience & really nice piece of fish.
Great food, service and atmosphere! Eggplant Parmesan was amazing.
Me and my sister were on holiday in Chicago - prior to jetting off our friends recommended Rosebud on Rush. How glad we were to have taken it up! The food was absolutely delicious! And the service was fab too. Our server was funny and friendly and very efficient.
We were sat on the patio and even though it was raining outside we were happy to sit under the fairly lights and heaters. It was rather special!
The portions are huge and sooo tasty. We even took our leftovers home to the hotel.
We would both recommend this place in a heartbeat!
Wonderful meal as always at one of our fave restaurants! The service was excellent, the food was amazing, and we enjoyed a lovely evening celebrating our son’s 18th birthday! Highly recommend the rosebud pappardelle pasta and the rigatoni alla vodka...both are beyond delicious!
Birthday for my twins
Fabulous food and the gelato dessert was amazing!! Service was top notch.
Not as good as I remember
Great experience- per usual! The food was great except the scallops were a little chewy/rubbery but the flavors were great! Another thing, which wasnt a big deal is that I was there with my girlfriend celebrating our 5 year anniversary, which I indicated, however the server came out saying happy birthday to my girlfriend and we just didnt have the heart to correct him because the service was excellent. Will definitely be returning!
Always excellent food and service. Highly recommend.
We were a party of seven for my daughters high school graduation which was late. They were very accepting of the late reservation of 10PM and the service and food was great. Couldn't eat it all and had the rest the next day. My daughter was very happy with her linguine and clams and the sea bass was excellent. Will eat here again, and again, and again.
Great time with outdoor patio, service was excellent, easy to make reservation
Food was just ok. Not as good as in the past. Food was very slow .
Very good food! The lasagna was fantastic, service was great! Highly recommend!
Amazing! As always
Excellent service! 5 stars for sure.
The food was great. Date had the filet mignon and I had he linguine with shrimp and broccoli, they could of used a little less broccoli and thicker sauce.. their dessert was amazing! The cheese cake! 😋 definitely taking my babe back!
Incredible service and quality of food. The serving sizes are very generous and can be shared for the most part; particularly the desserts which can feed a party of 10!
We were at Rosebud with friends for Mother's Day Brunch. The food and service were great. It was very busy and therefore, may have been louder than usual. My only complaint was how close together the tables were. Our server had to take a route around several other tables to serve ours and we felt uncomfortably close to the table behind us.
Great experience overall and I would come back on a future trip to Chicago.
Had not been back here for a few years. Menu options seems to have been reduced quite a bit. Service was mediocre at best. 3 of 4 meals ok...pricey for what it is. Broccoli and shrimp pasta was 60%+ stalks. Much better Italian options in Chicago. Won’t be back...too bad...used to be a family favorite.
Group of five gals from Michigan enjoyed a fabulous dining experience at Rosebud. I make a point of dining at this restaurant each time I am travelling to Chicago. Besides the food being outstanding, the staff are all engaging and create a great experience in this already cozy restaurant. Getting our photo with the chef was an added bonus!!!! I would highly recommend this restaurant!!!!
Too loud. Too rushed. $60 fish special - price not disclosed prior was a shock. Portions too large. Overall, the dining experience did not live up to all the buzz.
Fabulous wine and cocktails. The Manhattan was one of the best I ever had. Minestrone soup piping hot and delicious. Our pasta was so good!!! Waiter was fun yet professional. Probably our 10th time at this restaurant.
Staff couldn’t be any nicer
We love everything anout Rosebud on Rush. The food is amazing...potions are HUGE so share or plan to take leftovers. The service is impeccable. Highly recommend for a large group or an intimate dinner.
We reserved a table for nine after the 2019 Graduation Commencement at Loyola University Chicago. My wife, mother, brother (and girlfriend), daughter, her 3 friends had a fantastic experience with you on this particular Friday night. Thank you for your service and for an unbelievable meal that we have talked about all weekend. Kudos my friends... we are appreciative and grateful for your entire team...!!!
This was our 33rd wedding anniversary & Francesco & Juan did a fabulous job of making it a memorable dinner! Outstanding veal francese! Excellent 8 Finger Cavatelli Arrabiat! Excellent meal all around! We were served a complimentary cannoli desert since it was our anniversary but we also ordered a delicious and ridiculously large piece of chocolate cake!
Best Italian food in Chicago. Have been a loyal customer for over 25 years. Great service and even better food. Driving 5 hours for dinner is worth the time!
Just as good as the iconic one on Taylor. Portions very generous. Couldn’t finish. Stack salad that we shared was outstanding. Could have stopped right there. Had veal parmigiana that seemed as big as a bath may! Delicious!
Excellent food, service, and attention to detail. We really enjoyed our evening at Rosebud on Rush and will definitely be back again!
