Delicious and varied menu choices in open, lively setting which still enabled good conversation.
Great service and excellent food ... oh, I'm going back for sure!
This is always a "go to" restaurant. The food is consistently excellent, the hospitality welcoming and it is quietly comfortable. I highly recommend it.

This was my first time visiting Saba for brunch, though I've been there several times for dinner which is always delicious. I had the frittata which was very fresh and the cheese was great. My friends were visiting from the suburbs and split the beet salad and a sandwich, which they said was great. We also had two children and a baby with us. The food came out promptly and the service was top notch. Always a good neighboorhood place to go that's a little more upscale than some of the other places nearby.
Everything was great and the owner even visited our table and thanked us for our patronage.
Great service and the food was outstanding. Great neighborhood gem for good food.
Such a sweet date spot!
Outstanding service and very good food and vibe. Were extremely accommodating of dietary restrictions. Couldn't have been nicer and created a more pleasant dining experience.
From the greeting. They sat us earlier than our reservation. the Gm checked on us a few times and the servers were very knowledgeable about menu items and letting us know a selection we made had pork. the drinks are amazing. and of course the owner always greeting tables makes it stand out
We were seated right away. Service was superb and food was excellent. Cant wait to go back.
Food was delicious and service was great!
A real find for us. The food was good and reasonably priced. We will return.
Great food and service. Our server Ashley? ..I think /. She was so sweet and knowledgeable. She was serving in bar area on 10/5 Bent over backwards to make sure we were happy! Even the owner stopped and chatted with us and told us the history of Logan Square. We took the blue line from downtown back instead of an Uber and it was super convenient It was a good find with so many choices in the City 👍
Service was great, but the food was really below average. The gnocchi were almost rubbery, and the sauce was so salty it was almost inedible. Almost everyone at our table was disappointed with their food. The service, however, was great.
Luckily the good was delicious. The service was awful, though.
Awesome service as usual, great food, dessert as well, nice to be remembered by server.
Food was good but server was inattentive. Since it was my birthday we wanted to order dessert. We asked for menus and I ordered a coffee. The server returned and explained that the coffee would be what was leftover from brunch...and it was 9pm at the time...and then she asked if that was ok. The whole experience at Saba was underwhelming.
I made this reservation for Saba which I thought was the Israeli restaurant in New Orleans. Unfortunately it was the wrong restaurant. The staff at Saba New Orleans could not have been more gracious. They said this happens all the time. Best meal I have ever had. Unfortunately you can’t make reservations for Saba New Orleans in open table. You have to go to Resy!
We came here within its opening weeks and the food was heavily salted. We thought we’d try it again (we live in the neighborhood and have enjoyed all the other restaurants part of this group). The food was very under-seasoned. We felt bad sending back a plate that was cold and bland, but it was replaced with the brussels sprouts, which was the best dish we ate. For the price of the food, I could make better Italian food at home, from scratch. Overall, very underwhelming.
Service was excellent!
Everything was great, good service, great food.
I was excited to try Saba but was extremely disappointed in the lack of service. The waited never introduced himself, explained the rotating drink selections or the specials. It took several minutes to get water, another 20 minutes to get our cocktails. The calamari was weird with added veggies that were out of place. We decided not to stay for the meal since our experience was so bad. The place wasn't even that crowded and it was a Friday night. I would not go here again and would instead spend my limited dining dollars where I know I'll have a nice time.
Another solid restaurant from Alon Shaya. This one claims to be more casual but the food is still absolutely stellar. The hummus is incredible, the salatim are all delicious (I'm a big fan of the labneh and lutinista) and I had a phenomenal oyster sandwich. The pita is of course fresh, endless and melts in your mouth. It's still a little pricey but you certainly get your money's worth. I also appreciated them having non-traditional soft drinks such as house made sodas and tea. I'll be sure to return as often as I can.
Saba was a delightful surprise. The menu items were a tad pricey but our choices for dinner were well worth it. I had the lobster ravioli in a pesto cream sauce and it was delicious. My wife had the eggplant parmesan which she raved about. My son had the Cavatelli and Sausage in a creamy tomato sauce which he loved and my daughter had the Carbonara in an al-fredo like sauce. We finished the meal with Gelato, a flourless chocolate torta (amazing) and cannoli. The meal, ambiance and service were outstanding. We will be back to try the other dishes!
We waited over an hour to get our drinks and then another 30 for our food. We were excited to try the restaurant, but we were not impressed with the service and the food was average.
I ate dinner here with my family who were visiting from out of town with their 4-year-old for dinner. Our server was incredibly accommodating and gave great recommendations. The service was phenomenal. The owner even stopped in to ask how our meal was. Everything we ate was delicious, especially the lobster ravioli and the prosciutto di parma bruschetta. Prices are reasonable as well.
Delicious food with great service!
was too loud to hear the server and he couldn't hear us. Ended up searching google to learn about menu.
The server was a little annoying and I felt he was a little too casual. At one point he sat next to my guest on the bench and said he needed a rest. He may have been joking/ maybe she and he were communicating before I got there but having just arrived to the table I felt it was a weird exchange.
Excellent menu and food. Nice, energetic vibe however it was very loud. It would be better if they could turn down the music a bit. Otherwise a very enjoyable experience.
Service was great, food was even better! AC was not working but they made sure we remained comfortable.
Had a great meal Saturday night. Great ambiance with open air dining room if weather permits. The chef is super creative with many great dishes at great values. Most dishes are large enough to be shared amongst 4 people or serve as an entry for one person. Also had a unique daiquiri that was fantastic! A high recommend!
The food was bad
We should’ve sent it back
As always, the food and service were perfect. Try the brandy old fashioned! A perfect date night!
Food was good - our server was new which was fine but he didn’t smile at us and seemed to not want to be there. I got the eggs Benedict and he asked me how I wanted my eggs 🤨 I told him poached, stated on the menu and he still didn’t understand and ask if I wanted scrambled. Thank goodness it still came poached but servers may need better training.
Our dinner at Saba was really tasty, however, the chili oil that they use on their pizzas is not for everyone. My fiance and I ended up feeling a little unsettled after the heavy oil they topped it with. It made our pizza appear SO greasy, they even brought out extra to top it off. However, we went on a Wednesday where they have half-priced bottles of wine and reasonably priced appetizers. I wish we would have known about the oil on the pizza because we ended up tossing the leftovers. Would go back w/o ordering anything from that part of the menu!
This restaurant went from being a rising star in Logan Square, to a mere dimmer. We were there about 6 months ago and gave it all high marks. This week, I hosted a small business dinner at Saba becasue I thought it would be an excellent and safe option.....the dinner ended with me apologizing to my guests!
Our waiter never greeted us, nor had eye contact. When asking for a glass of wine, they were out of my guests first and second choice. He then asked for a cocktail, and they were out of a name brand.
The restaurant lights were on full and too bright. We started with a pizza and it was good. Our entrees were fair - 2 chicken, 1 fish, 1 risotto - all fair. Vegetables were watery, potatoes just boiled. The service was very slow, we actually thought they went to the grocery to buy our food - was more than 1 hour between pizza and entrees. I hope that Saba can learn from this experience. They really have lost their mojo, and I hope that some re-training, better food preparation and customer attention will make this place shine, again.
Great location and ambience - loud and lively. The home made pastas were delicious. Apps were good but nothing special - next time I would order pizzas as appetizers. Gelatos for dessert were very flavorful and went great with a cappuccino!
Our waiter acted as if e were invisible. The difference between the service he have us and the other tables round us was tricking. The roast chicken was rubbery and dry - I would have sent it back , but , could not seem to catch the Waiter’s eye. The starters and desserts were amazing. It definitely did not live up to what I had heard about it.
I live in New Orleans and mistook the Chicago app for NO
the staff was nice enough to seat us at a coffee table because
the restaurant was fully booked..
I will go again very soon
