Sal e Pepe Contemporary Italian Bistro
Excellent in every respect. The food lived up to the great reviews I have read. Large diverse menu and all of us loved everything we ordered. The service was also very good and the prices were reasonable given the quality of the food.
Finest restaurant in Fairfield County. Superb food and Service.
Slightly expensive , especially appetizers (mushrooms ..delicious but only 3 ). However we don’t mind paying for quality. Service always friendly and efficient. We had chicken Scarpiello and fish dish both excellent
Food and service was very good. The room behind the bar was crowded and had no ambiance at all. Next time I'll request a booth in the main dining room.
We arrived at 5:00 due to a 7:00 PM engagement. Staff was very attentive, food was prompt and good.
Read the menu before deciding to go to dinner. Had choices in mind only to have to re-think when we saw the cavatelli special. That was a home run!
Food was nicely prepared and delicious. The service was exceptional and vety accomodating. We had a very nice
Dining experience and will return
Went this weekend for the first time, place is small but that's fine, Arancini were good as was the bread and dipping oil
Main courses were so-so, and the green apple sorbet was flavorless. It was very busy so the waitstaff was not on pointe, but could have been worse.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and it was a lovely evening. My meal (veal piccata) was delicious, and my wife, who's a vegetarian, found enough variety to satisfy her tastes, ordered gnocchi and was pleased with it. Appetizers were good, too.
Overall everything was very good. The food and service was wonderful.
I recommend to anyone.
I’ve eaten here before and the food was nothing short of spectacular in this dining experience as well! The garlic & butter sauce for the bread is terrific! Every part of the experience is phenomenal. Our server wasn’t very attentive, but it was very busy and Valentine’s Day weekend.
Food fantastic. Service not great.Unfortunately our waitress was brand new and just had too many tables. She was so great but just needed help.I blame the owners They did the right thing by buying us our first round of drinks after waiting 20 minutes for them and after I said something to the owner. You don't have a new server on her own on a super busy Saturday night.Shame on management for not realizing that this sweet girl was struggling. I hope she made out on good tips and hopefully she came back on her next shift! We will of course be back!
Great food------Great service---------Great atmosphere
We love Sal e Pepe. Highly recommend For any occasion
Having eaten at this restaurant before with a positive experience we must have hit them on a bad night as I made our open table reservation for four at 7:30 and didnt get seated until well after 8:00pm. A bit unorganized on our arrival and everyone seemed to be working in overdrive.
Wait staff was fine and friendly and food was very good once we were seated.
Delicious food . Very busy. Make a reservation. Staff very helpful if a bit rushed.
Great food, great service!
Thoroughly enjoyed our first dining experience at Sal e Pepe. It certainly will not be our last.
We loved the Seafood Ravioli. It was spicy comfort food that tasted so good with the Chardonney...especially good after the Calamari appetizer !
We'll be back !
Fantastic food, atmosphere and staff. Can’t wait to go back.
First time there and the food and service were very good.
Consistently well prepared food and attentive service:)
We live quite a distance from Sal e Pepe, and when we want a great meal, we go come here. The food is first rate. The staff, kind, and accommodating. The food is never boring. You could describe it as Italian, but it so much more than ordinary Italian. It’s worth the trip, and the calories@
Both our dishes were excellent as well as the service
New Years Eve 2020. Considering that the restaurant was packed, the service was very smooth and helpful. We liked the special menu (not prix fix), and dinner was delicious.
We shared the arancini appetizer, served with a warm crusty bread. The halibut in ginger teriyaki sauce was firm and sweet; the beef bourguignon over pappardelle a la Julia Child had sweet vegetables and melt-in-your-mouth beef bites (we took home almost half of the huge portion).
Loved the ambience, the attention given to us from beginning to end and food was delish
Best Italian restaurant in town ( food and customer service )
A bit kid and crowded but good food. The kids even loved the Mac and cheese though they view the Kraft one better
Went out last minute to celebrate a birthday. Food was excellent. Wine was great. Service was outstanding!
We will be back!
