Great ambience and excellent food.
Great ambience and food
A little disappointed in our visit to Salt. I had contacted them prior because I have celiac disease. I was told that the restaurant would accommodate my dietary need. That was not what happened when we arrived at the restaurant. Our server was unsure of what gluten free meant. In fact, we had to point out that some of her recommendations for me contained gluten. Sigh, I did not have a lot of choices (no gluten free pasta, gluten free bread, meats that were seasoned without gluten-containing spice mixes) that I just had a salad.....and I can get a better salad somewhere else. The others in my group raved about the lamb pastrami but it was served with coffee rye. Yes, the server put the bread directly on top of the pastrami and sauce, contaminating the dish for me. When we pointed it out to her (had asked for bread on the side), she said oops sorry.
We spent almost $300 on food and wine. I had get a much better dining experience around the corner at a restaurant that actually accommodates dietary restrictions......(Blue Agave rocks!)
Friendly staff, excellent service, unique flavor combinations, delicious bread, wonderful desserts.
Excellent food and service in a beautiful patio setting. Enjoyed a mushroom risotto and a pasta with squash.
It's a simple menu but everything is incredibly delicious. Wonderful homemade bread, especially the rosemary. I think they cure their own meats too? The quality is excellent and we've never had a bad meal.
The food at Salt Craft never disappoints. Came with colleagues for lunch and loved the food as always. Love the outdoor seating unfortunately there was road work taking place that crated a bit more noise than normal so will have to come back and enjoy it again without that. 😊
A very simple but powerful menu. There were four that dined, everyone ordered something different so we had a good sample of Chef Matt’s creation. It was all superb!! Every menu item is very different from the other which made for a difficult decision. The waiter was very good and experienced. Chef Matt is very nice and friendly. We had a couple of good conversations about his menu, entrees and his background.
We will be back. This place is a must!
Salt Craft is okay. The service is very good, but the food is not good enough for the prices they charge. Honestly, the best tasting thing I ate there was the fruit in my sangria.
Excellent service and food! All outdoor seating, but heaters!
Birthday dinner with friends.
Perfectly fine. Good setting. Food is good.
Good quality, creative fare. Excellent service, Nice ambiance.
Food was good, we really enjoyed our corn appetizer and side salads.
Setting was enjoyable to people-watch, but a little quiet; it would be nice to have some low volume music or something. There were points where maybe one table in the area was having a conversation and the others were quietly eating, and it felt like we were all part of that conversation, hearing them very clearly though they were not loud. Not a place I would go if I knew I wanted to have a personal or sensitive conversation. Some background noise would help with a feeling of privacy for all.
Service was good, but a little disorganized; it felt like a restaurant still working out the kinks: early clearing of silverware, duplicate deliveries of appetizer and salad orders arriving at the table as we were finishing our main courses. Just felt like an off night for some of the staff or kitchen expediter.
We always have a great meal at Saltcraft, and service is always excellent. I had the beet salad and it was delicious!
Always fresh and best ingredients - imagination in every dish. Not only quality but a consistently incredible value.
Frankie was a fantastic waitress. She was super engaged, funny and made great recommendations.
We had a fantastic experience here! Portions are a bit small for the price, and I wish there was a more expansive wine selection, particularly from organic or biodynamic wine producers, but the food was amazing and service was friendly but non-intrusive. I also loved that my family members didn't have to leave their (small the waitress even brought water and treats out for her. Overall a great experience, & I plan to come here more frequently!
We came for the cinnamon rolls. They changed the recipe and they should make their way back to the previous recipe stat! The presentation was lackluster, the rolls were lukewarm, bordering on cold. The turkey kale sausage never disappoints. I wish that were true for everything else.
Salt Craft is our favorite Pleasanton restaurant. The food is always fresh, well presented and delicious.
We've been to Salt Craft a handful of times for breakfast and look forward to returning again. We always enjoy the food and atmosphere. Our friends were running late. Our server, Teri, patiently waited with no push to place our orders. We enjoyed an assortment of breakfast items - toast with goat cheese and plum, the salmon breakfast, crustless quiche, the corn scramble and sausage & sunnyside eggs, and of course mimosas. All ingredients are fresh. The bread, sausage and hot sauce are all made in house. Despite the warm day, the shade from the umbrellas made it a comfortable temperature. Thank you Matt Greco for another yummy start to our day.
The food was great. All outside seating. It was great!
It felt the staff on Sunday was inexperienced.
The food is always outstanding and changing seasonally.
Had the fig and salmon salad and my co-worker had the chicken panini sandwich. Good flavor and fresh greens. Dressing was just the right amount-- not overloaded. Sandwich was large and tasty.
Very good food, very cool people
We have been coming to Salt from there beginning. We have had breakfast ,brunch, lunch and dinner. We have never had a moment of disappointment. We have brought many people including my son and daughter-in-law for Mother’s Day. Even with the usual heavy reservations for a holiday the kitchen and servers never lost a beat. Can’t praise them enough. By the way my dachsie loves it too.
Food was great loved the cinnamon rolls staff friendly and attentive.
We've been to the Salt Craft when they first opened, several times for lunch/brunch. However, this time we were disappointed. The amazing cinnamon rolls were nowhere close to as good as they used to be, plus they were pretty much cold by the time we were served (we were there at 9am, shouldnt everything be fresh and hot still?) The rest of our meals were so-so. Best of luck to the restaurant.
Salt Craft is delicious, especially the duck(!), but since the restaurant only has outdoor seating, it has been uncomfortable both times we've been-- too cold the first and too hot the second, plus the glare of the sun in the late afternoon was a bit annoying this time. The service was a bit slow, but there was also a wedding party while we were there, so it was understandable.
We love Salt Craft. An interesting menu for reasonable prices. Maple Bourbon Miso Chicken sandwich, White corn & roasted poblano scramble and the Burrata & rosemary bread were standouts. Service was prompt and friendly.
I already have recommended it to many. My friend and I had breakfast last Sunday. Everything was amazing. Everything was freshly made. The bread, the jam, cinnamon rolls, amazing. Looking forward to returning soon. Thank you.
Server wasn’t very friendly and he took a long time. My husbands corn salad that went with his ham was extremely bitter. Barely got any beef and it was $28! Don’t think we’ll be going back there.
We are regulars at Salt Craft for a reason - the food is outstanding and never disappoints. Also, we love that they regularly change the menu - there is always something new and very exciting.
It was a beautiful night with friends and the weather perfect for the outside seating here. We each had something different and all were excellent. I recommend the duck breast entree.
Please note this is not a negative review, but some constructive feedback - as often feedback is either a complaint or worse none at all. - I Love SaltCraft. Great menu and vibe and have been 3X so far. This last visit was a little rough. - I will also add I started my career in hospitality and worked extensively in front and back of the house roles for many years. Perhaps because it was a Monday night, or the server was tired - either way, our server could use some training. Waters were not readily replenished - minor nit. but when its hot, it goes fast. I would encourage mgmt to reinforce the importance of clearing dishes and utensils - especially during the appetizer course. Our server simply took the utensils we had and put them back on the table. - This created an oily mess and I was simply and utterly horrified at the action. - Easier to just clear and provide new utensils - easy to do and presents well to guests. + the table is left neater without a dressing or oil slick to contend with. We ended up wiping down the table where the utensils were placed. As this was a business dinner, I was slightly embarrassed. There was little up selling or promotion - we could have easily purchased a bottle of wine with a little encouragement. At least try... The Food was great, as usual. However - the spaghetti that came out was clumped together (not stirred during cooking) and was over done (mushy) - I was very disappointed - perhaps the B team was in the kitchen - but this is easy to correct and I would be mortified to serve anything less than al dente. The pasta I have had previously was simply stellar and candidly, it was what brought me back the other two times. Have servers take time to connect with their guests, understand why they are there and even make some suggestions ahead of menu perusal. Good to plant those seeds. or even a signature drink - you get the idea. I look forward to my next lunch or dinner. :-) Happy to discuss if you wish. Peter 510.847.7098
Party of 4 - one person did not receive entree until the rest of us were done. Although the young food runner apologized, the waitress didn’t offer anything to be comped. At the prices, I would have expected at least a free drink or dessert to be offered. Bread was really good; the rest was meh. In that price range there are a variety of better options.
Very inventive! Great service and food, and the staff was young and motivated. We will return!
We were excited to try their cinnamon rolls, based on the photos on yelp! Unfortunately, they looked much better on the photos. They tasted more like plain dry bread with light cinnamon versus the gooey, cinnamon and buttery layers of pastry we expected. We also ordered the smoked salmon and open faced smoked salmon sandwiches. Dishes were good, but nothing special. No rush for us to return.
Go for breakfast/brunch, maybe, not on hot days, unless you want to be cooked along with dinner. Service lackadaisical, food can be great but sometimes so-so. I wish I could give a better review.
