Saltyard Restaurant and Bar

Dining in the street due to COVID restrictions was unique. The food was good, but service was lacking as they were very busy and getting use to the new table arrangement. One entree arrived late to the table and luckily our waiter noticed that the guest did not receive their food when all others had. The house mixed drinks were average in quality and the overall experience seemed over priced. However, the restaurant has just reopened and deserves a chance to get back on track.
Love the added outdoor space! Always order calamari and was treated to sticky toffee dessert. Can never go wrong eating here and enjoying every minute!
We celebrated my son’s 21st birthday during this pandemic- they made it extremely special and we so appreciated!!
Great staff and eating outside was wonderful!
Outside dining was great. The lamb risotto was delicious, as was the cucumber gin cocktail. Very refreshing.
This was our first time there. We loved the out door dinning. The food was amazing. I took my wife there for her birthday. We will be going back again.
First time here. Loved everything from the cocktails to the entrees. Friendly staff, amazing food. Very happy to come back again.
We were a party of 7. After being seated it took more than 30 minutes before we could someone to even get a glass of water. Half off the restaurant was closed off due to a private party which made for an extremely loud environment. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and found some of the portions to be particularly small. (Crab cakes were 2 bite sized cakes with a large amount of salad greens). Short rib tacos not edible. On the other hand, mushroom bruschetta was lovely as were the prawns and salads.
Experience may have been different without the large private party. May give it one more try.
Birthday lunch. Service was just ok. Steak sandwich, salmon sandwich and hamburger were all good. Desserts were good....Chocolate mouse, cheesecake and sorbet.
We are repeat customers and introduce our out of area friends. Saturday's dinner was not disappointing and most enjoyable. The only criticism was the noise level and the reason is that the tables are positioned too close to each other. You cannot avoid your neighbors' extremely loud conversations.
Food was very good. Crowded as usual on Saturday. 3rd time I've been there in last 3 months. Service remains the weak spot. The staffing level is low. The servers are less than enthusiastic and seem to struggle with multi-tasking. It is probably a staffing level issue that management can easily fix but, for some reason, chooses not to. It's too bad. Great ambiance, premium location, good clientele. This place and customers deserve better.
Great food and service. The only downfall is the seats and tables are very close to each other. It’s a tight squeeze.
Mostly great experience. My steak was on the cool side, but it was still delicious.
Tables are jammed in tight!! Food was good, staff friendly and promptly brought our food to our table! A slight communication error and my husband had ordered the seafood pasta with no mussels and it arrive with all mussels . Ha ha
Second time here. Both times were excellent. Wine list is decent and cocktail selection is nice, even though I only had water this time. We will be back.
Went in for a late lunch. Had a great salmon salad with beets. I love the atmosphere. Great service.
Had lunch yesterday and the place was packed! Nevertheless our food was delicious and the service was excellent. My husband loved it as well
It was very busy and my wife and I expect either to be asked if we'd like water or a cocktail within 5 minutes of being seated which did not happen.
Our waiter picked up service whereas we enjoyed delicious oysters but they had not been loosened in the shell so we used our butter knives to do so. I did mention this to the waiter who only said, "We just open them"
The paella we shared tasted delicious but was not traditional. The rice was cooked more as a risotto and not the firm carmelized finish typical. Dessert was good.
We'd recommend trying as we'll go back as they seem to still be trying to smooth the rough spots.
Well I really wanted to like this place, but the service was horrible the waiters were not friendly! They never told us what the special of the day was... the food was bland! We ordered the octopus and it was so chew & hard! To top it off when our main meal arrived it was room temperature! I was not happy at all! Don’t think I will be returning:(
very disappointed with the service. Very slow. Very nonchalant. Very unpersonable. Will I go back, not sure.
I would recommend Saltyard to a friend with qualifications. We weren't award that Valentine's day had a fixed price menu and the evening was quite expensive for what we got. The food was passable and nicely presented. Our waiter was polite and we liked our seating and the ambiance a lot.
the food is very plain... and the place was empty at noon, and the dishes came to the table cold.
Positives: The martini was top drawer. The service was really excellent. The waiters not only helped us navigate the menu but were also charming and attentive. Mushroom filled pasta was tasty. Prisoner Meritage was smooth and a perfect accompaniment to the ribeye.
Negatives: The noise level was truly deafening. Shouting was the only way anyone could hear anyone else, so EVERYONE was shouting, and the restaurant was packed. The Caesar salad had kale. Why?? While the ribeye was cooked to the doneness requested, it was very fatty/chewy and did not have the flavor intensity I was hoping for.
Food is good, service is a bit slow, but accommodating.
We had very good service. The food was delicious. Thank you!
Such a great vibe. Love the decor but loved the food even more. Everyone was cheerful and the servers were part of the reason.
The food and service were very good! The noise was overwhelming! We were seated right next to the bar (most tables are within 10 feet of the bar) and there was a very noisy group who had been there, we were told, for 3 - 4 hours drinking. They were obnoxious and it really ruined our evening. The restaurant management did nothing to curb their behavior (they must have spent a lot in the bar). Our waiter kept apologizing but we just wanted to finish and leave. The arrangement of bar and tables, as well as the lack of noise dampening will be an ongoing problem.
Had a very nice lunch here. Will be back for dinner. The clam chowder (which was an option with our lunch) was delicious. Salmon sandwich was tasty.
Had appetizers for dinner they were good. Nice place to go for a drink too.
I had a fantastic beet and grapefruit arugula salad.
It was nicely dressed with a tasty vinagrette. The salmon was extremely fresh and seasoned very nicely.
They served eggs and steak which my companion thought was very good. We also enjoyed the short rib taco appetizer. Definitely a great place to take clients or friends.
Bland food. Heavy and flavorless. Nice ambience and location. Would not return.
The food is small-portioned, and the service is poor. The waiter rarely came by to check on us or refill water. We also closed the blinds ourselves because we couldn’t get the attention of any staff when the sun came in.
Great menu. There with 2 friends for lunch. Ordered 3 separate items and all were very good. Loved my salmon salad. Will definitely return and have already recommended to friends
Great! (Ambience would have been higher if lower music volume)
Terrific local spot, great food and great energy!!!!!!!!
Fairly large spot with classy, elegant ambiance. It was really busy but they were still able to make some vegan risotto for me. It was a pleasant evening.
