SOLE Seafood & Grill
Great selection of food and wine.magnum of barola wins every time for our table of 4.staff are honest and friendly.be back again very soon.
Great evening and great food! Five of us and everyone was really impressed and loved their meal. Wine list was a bit expensive but otherwise great venue , I will be back
Really lovely time spent at Sole for our anniversary.
Service was excellent - our water glasses or wine glasses were always topped up, the staff were friendly and prompt.
The food was very fresh and tasty - I would return to Sole just for the tuna tartar, but the Cod special that night was truly outstanding. My partner very much enjoyed their meal also.
The atmosphere was nice, the restaurant was busy between groups of people and tables of two/three but it was not loud or cramped. The decor is also charming. We were given a nice treat with dessert to celebrate our anniversary.
My only con was that we were seated next to the front door and a large window that looked out over South William St, while the view was lovely, there was a cold draft due to this.
Hi, we had a lovey afternoon in Sole on Saturday, thank you. I would like to clarify if the 12.5% service charge for tables of 6 or over is paid to the staff? I took it the 12.5% paid over menu price is in lieu of a tip but someone has since advised me that this is not always the case.
The staff and food were exceptional.
Dear Louise, Thank you for taking the time to review SOLE Seafood and Grill. I am very happy to read you enjoyed in your meal and I can confirm that 100% of the Service charge is split between the staff members. We are looking forward to welcoming you to SOLE in near future. Warmest Regards, Anita Jedlicka, Assistant Restaurant Manager
Liked everything about my visit to Sole ...they staff are amazing, food is so good & there's a great atmosphere in the place highly recommend Sole
Beautiful food and excellent service. Restaurant was very busy but this did not effect the speed of service
Fantastic food if you like fish
I had scallops to start ,followed by monkfish for mains & chocolate mouse to finish.
Service was great courteous & efficient
Really enjoyable experience , food and staff were second to none.
Had a fantastic meal, superb restaurant and very busy, would definitely eat here again
Great atmosphere, very friendly service. The oyster are fresh and the rest of the menu isn't bad either. Value for money isn't necessarily the best but given the prices nowadays in Dublin it isn't bad.
Would definitely recommend dining here!
Excellent service, staff very attentive.
A little on the pricey side but good for a treat occasion.
A very good meal in a lovely location , great ambiance and great service
This was our first time doing a taster menu. The food and service were outstanding. The flavours were also amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
My partners Birthday
Fantastic restaurant. Gorgeous food, great service and a great buzz/atmosphere. Noisy enough to create a buzz but not that it interrupts your evening. Can’t wait to go back.
Poor food, poor service, overrated and overpriced.
One of three restaurants we are in over a weekend in Dublin. Definitely the worst. I have no issue paying for quality food and service. Complained 3 times during meal about quality of food only to be told by waiter hoe would let the chef know. Then complained again after paying bill to the maitre who told me I should have said earlier as nothing he could now do. Avoid at all costs, rip off joint.
Dear Tim, I was extremely disappointed to read your review. I would firstly like to defend our Restaurant, a wonderful environment for guests and staff alike. There are a many many more different thermidor recipes used in kitchens all over the world, I am sorry to hear that our sauce was not up to your taste. I strongly disagree with your comments about being overrated and overpriced giving the high quality of ingredients that we use. Kind regards, Victor Nedelea General Manager
This restaurant was excellent. From the staff to the food everyone was 5 star. I couldn't fault any food that we had.
Great attentive service, i have dietary restrictions and my mother is coeliac and the manager personally came out to speak to us about the dishes we wanted. our waiter was great also and food was delicious
Outstanding service; excellent quality seafood; gorgeous presentation and attention to detail.
I celebrated my birthday here with what can only be expressed as a phenomenal seafood lunch! Super fresh flavours perfectly prepared and served to the table by the superb Antonio who was knowledgeable, friendly and fun without being intrusive.
The seafood tower with lobster was sublime, and deceptive in exactly how many mussels were hiding under that fabulous stack of other crustaceans!
After taking a good 50 minutes to okie through the hot section of the dish, then came the lower section of the platter - deliciously fresh oysters, Dublin Bay Prawns, Shrimps, Howth Smoked Irish Salmon.
Generous and simply mouthwatering!
All washed down with a fabulous Trebbiano and some Prosecco to start.
Made my birthday!
My friend and i ordered the special which was red mullet. The fish was tasteless and the dressing not so nice. Our wives had different fish and theirs was good. I thought the place was over priced for what you get.
Our table of four thought the food was seriously overpriced.
We had a lovely late lunch, we opted for the early evening menu as it gave better value. The choice was plentiful and we were all happy with the choices. The service was great, they are really friendly and attentive and the food is excellent.
My first visit to Sole I was very disappointed with the food I thought it was totally overpriced The staff were lovely and looked after us very well We had cocktails they were very good.I won’t be rushing back.
We had an excellent lunch on our wedding anniversary and were particularly well looked after by Antonio. The tempura squid was outstanding.
Loved it. We booked in at the bar because there were no tables available when booking. But they were happy to accommodate us with a table when we asked. Really friendly staff and amazing food. 10/10
A nice fine dining place with good ambience . Seafood was amazing especially the char-grilled tiger prawns. A bit on the higher end in terms of price overall good.
The food was absolutely exceptional. The service was impeccable too.
Nice place. Excellent service.
Average food. Over cooked.
Very disappointed with our meal at Sole. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and helpful but the food was unexpectedly poor. Our table for 2 was on a corner on a service route. They were very busy. Calamari in tempura batter with dip was nice no garnish not hot. Second starter of scallops poorly presented ,not seared, sitting on white sauce no garnish not hot . My companions main was small strips of john dory ,overcooked and chewy, small portion . My own main of crab gnocchi I could not eat ,the crab tasted of tinned tuna in a watery broth, the actual gnocchi were dense and chewy ,no garnish ,poor presentation ,not hot. Bread with starters was 1 piece each of brown/white sliced ,with a smear of butter placed onto the plate. Only redeeming feature was the wine-a tasty Portugese douro ,cheapest on the menu I think at 35 euro.Taking out the standard cod, sea bass and salmon darne ,the choice of fish was underwhelming. I am left with the feeling this restaurant is overpriced and over-rated.
We left without dessert and bought chips on the way home. Will not be recommending this restaurant.
Also we inadvertently double booked but despite many efforts to cancel the bar places for 2, leaving messages on the phone when attempts online met with 'oops' we are sorry , no one returned our calls and the site berated us for not turning up !
Excellent food. Best food we have ever had in Dublin. Strongly recommended. It is expensive, but worth of money.
Ante was a Fab waiter so helpful and chatting with us. Can't recommend enough.
Food was spot on. We happend to be there for the early bird which was fantastic value. Scallops, oysters and calamari to start all were cooked perfectly.
Mains were fish and chips, mussels and sea bass again no complaints.... Only issue is we were too full for a dessert will defo be back
I really enjoyed the experience, the staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you, very attentive.
Love everything about this restaurant, would definitely recommend it to friends.
Although I was excited at the prospect of a delicious seafood meal I was extremely disappointed. My girlfriend ordered the tempura which was the one good item we ordered. My tartare and gnocchi were not good. It was extremely rich and sickly and my stomach has not been feeling good since. There are better seafood alternatives In Dublin.
Sole has all the ingredients of a very good restaurant but it is not at a standard that can charge €29.50 for a main course special of the day. The halibut was nicely cooked but arrived on warmish mashed potatoes which I returned. The gap between starter and main was long and the waitress asked us if we were finished both courses though our cutlery should have clearly indicated this. The service and food need to up there game if they wish to charge prices like this.
Steak and Seafood grill which did not disappoint. Went as a group of 9 .. we were all taken care of quite well
Exquisite meal, brilliant service paired with sophisticated atmosphere and amazing food, will definitely return
Service was excellent - staff were very attentive and with just the right mix of friendly professionalism. Varied menu and tasty dishes - overall a very pleasant experience
