Absolutely amazing!

I have wanted to try Solo Italiano out for sometime so was excited we were able to get a table during restaurant week. They called the morning of the reservation to confirm and to let me know that Restaurant Week was only being offered for take out and not dine in. A little bummed but figured either way a good chance to experience dining.

The staff was very polite and attentive to our needs. The whole space was set in response to COVID guidelines. And masks were worn by all. They did request (on website) to wear masks when servers approached table, which was a little challenge but all worked well.

The menu was great and provided enough options for our tastes, and dietary restrictions. The serve explained many options and answered our questions.

The food was great. The presentation and the experience was more than I expected. The whole night was perfect and the setting made it so.

Unfortunately, we were too full to experience the dessert menu. So I guess we will have to return.

My favorite place in Portland! The plates are perfect if you’re in the mood to have your own meal and perfect if you want to do family style and share!

Solo was good, but honestly, not as amazing as many folks had made it out to be.

Love it here. Food is amazing and they always have new dishes. Never had anything I did not like here. Drinks are great. Service is excellent - our server even remembered us. Overall, one of our favorite places to eat in Portland.

Excellent valentines day meal. Absolutely loved the homemade hankerchief pasta with pesto. Great ambience.

Food was good however portions and descriptions on the menu were a bit to be desired. I ordered the Steak dish at $65. The steak was fantastic but it came with fries and that was it. I paid 65$ for steak and fries. All in all the meal was 200 with tip. This is the second time we have been there and will not be looking to return as cost vs quality were not aligned.

Food was outstanding, but the portions were pretty small for the high price points. The quality of the food was unbelievable though.

Sensational! The pizza reminded me of my childhood — I grew up in Rome — the octopus was heavenly. Service was stellar. These are serious people doing serious work. Could not recommend it more.

Probably the best meal I've had in a long, long time. Everything was exceptional.

Delicious meal, great service, and felt totally safe while indoor dining. We shared the pizza to start (unreal) and each had a fresh pasta dish for our mains. Followed by incredible lemon sorbetto and chocolate soufflé. And amazing espresso martinis. Highly recommend eating lots of carbs here- you will not be disappointed.

As usual, a wonderful meal accompanied by a wonderful wine suggested by the expert at Solo, Jesse. Ambiance was lovely, service great and very much in respect of COVID instructions.
Would go back a million times!

Wonderful food, probably the best Italian I’ve ever had.

This has become my go-to restaurant in Portland. As a recent transplant from NYC I am used to quality dining experiences. Solo is absolutely outstanding. One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever eaten in—including my time in Italy. I highly recommend it.

Great Friday night out, felt like almost a normal weekend evening! Great COVID procedures though would have felt a little better with extra space between the tables. A little overpriced. Comforting Italian food, great for cold weather.

Excellent and romantic place. Great food and nice service, excellent wine collection. A perfect place for a nice and relaxing dinner.

The experience everytime is absolutely amazing. Randi at the bar is super knowledgeable and gives outstanding service. The whole staff in general is very knowledgeable and super genuine. If you are in Portland for the weekend please visit this restaurant!

Fabulous homemade, fresh pastas, great menu, worth a visit!!

Consistently excellent. The large space provides a safe, relaxing, clean environment in this crazy covid time and the food is innovative and delicious. Wait staff is courteous, friendly, and efficient. We dine here often and have never been disappointed. Also, the tiramisu is fabulous.

Had an incredible experience at solo. The service was exceptional and the food was insanely good.
I recommend you go here, then go 100 more times.

The food was good overall, we really enjoyed the appetizers and dessert, the pasta course was a little bland and the main course was fine. Overall we felt it was over-priced for what we got. We would wat here again.

Food is good however portions are very small and pricey like the drinks.

Wonderful food and atmosphere. A slight error with the check was quickly fixed, and we enjoyed our second visit to this establishment very much.

Amazing Italian food with fresh ingredients. Food can be ordered family style or individual. Great restaurant for special celebrations.

Waitress pushed the braised pork shank, but it was nearly all bone and fat, with 3 bites of meat max, which was burned. I usually have great meals here, but feel I wasted $34 on an entree and was just as hungry as when I came in. Other meals were excellent, so I hope this was a one off of an otherwise great restaurant.

The food is always delicious and service is lovely. However, the portions have become ridiculously small for the prices. Coming home hungry after spending over $100 is unacceptable (I am not overweight either and eat normal portions). I won’t be going back anytime soon.

We found this restaurant a year and a half ago when sailing into Portland. It was memorable then. When returning for a few days this week, we were so excited to see that it is still there and better than ever. Every course was perfection, with layers of flavor and unusual ingredients. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, we had an excellent server and we would highly recommend the experience. Can't wait to return.

We chose Solo Italiano for a birthday dinner, and it was wonderful! The staff was knowledgeable and personable and the atmosphere was great. Our food was delicious - the tuna tartare was maybe the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend!

Truly special place. Food, ambiance, service were all on point. Beautifully comfortable and rustic atmosphere and with Covid making things so challenging, this little gem made a night out for the first time in 8 months truly worth it.
