Sopra Sotto Commercial Dr
First time and we loved it! The room is beautiful and the service and food was excellent. Will return.
This is my second visit. Food is yummy, tiramisu is the best in the industry. Noise level is high, even when the restaurant isn't full, some softer surfaces in the room would help with hearing the music over the noisy guests. :)
Birthday. Always enjoy the place, love the pasta and pizza
Great gnocchi with buratta, wonderful Neapolitan style Diavolo pizza. Attentive server who recognized we were catching up with old friends so did not hurry us to order or at the end of the eve.
Can’t wait to come back! Our server was outstanding! He was knowledgeable about the food and drinks, had a great attitude and generally interested in us having a great experience. Two of us ordered the Gluten Free pizzas and were blown away! We have found our go-to pizza fix! We originally thought they made us the original pizzas and gave it to us by mistake because the crusts were so good. Absolutely delicious! The cocktails were great as well and the burrata was fresh and tasty.
No A/C which most days is fine, but not when it's 28° & sunny. Hostess was a bit of a pill and wasn't at her station when we arrived, we were greeted by one of the wait staff. Bit of a pretentious place, there is better food at friendlier places elsewhere.
The good reviews posted were what drew me to try the restaurant. Having sampled a great variety of dishes on the menu, I was very satisfied and so were my company. From appies, to boards, to pasta, to desserts, I thoroughly enjoyed all of my selections. For the evening, the burrata board, the purple cocktail with pasta straw are at the top of most memorable. I love the openness and brightness of the venue. The staff were friendly and the services were great and reasonable fast considering the restaurant was full. I am definitely returning again very soon. I had a great dinner evening.
Wonderful staff.. Very attentive and kind. Was a little noisy but to be expected at such a desired restaurant. Food was phenomenal! Best Italian I’ve ever had, however a little pricey. Easily spent $140 CND plus tip on dinner for two with drinks and appetizers. We plan on going back very soon!
We hit this on a busy sunny Friday evening but despite the crowds service was friendly and quick. Great plates to share. Pasta and pizzas have interesting twists in terms of ingredients. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Our server was so good, she always knew what we needed and had great advice but was unobtrusive. The decor and energy is fantastic. Food was consistent -- loved the burratta board. Fave thing: skull ice cubes. Least fave thing: a bit too noisy.
Seats are a bit too close together. Restaurant is a bit too bright. Great service and food was good.
First time eating here. Really enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. Good vibe as could be expected for most places on Commercial.
Great little bistro atmosphere. I was on the drive back in the fall and took a chance on this place. Food was excellent so decided to book a smaller group. We had a great time and it's not our usual place. I will definately be going back soon.
Love the food and services
Food was excellent, service awesome,, the only issue we had is the noise, the acoustics is pretty poor
The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. I have some food sensitivities and our server made sure they were passed to the chef. The food was excellent. I had a delicious pizza with a very thin and crunchy crust. The only complaint I would have is the noise level when the restaurant is full. I'm sure this due to the interior design, but it's hard to hear conversations with companions.
They offer a gluten free (homemade) crust. It was a real treat, not to mention the service was great. Nice to go to a place that treats you nicely. I will definitely go again.
Always enjoy dining here
My wife and I went here for their happy hour menu, which is quite good. Restaurant and patio were nearly empty, but we had to go inside to flag down a server to order a drink after being seated on the patio. Waitress / hostess was standing at the deserted bar playing on her phone, and literally did not turn around for 10+ minutes. Another server took over our table, and was better. Great food and beautiful room, but don’t know how long this place will be around with the level of service provided, as we overheard another table saying the same. Hope they turn it around as the food is great.
Good food. We only had pizza and the selection was good. Thin crust Napoli style. Really good happy hour menu starting at 9pm so it turned out to be very good value.
Always great food! The menu has a few small changes, but all very good additions. Had the Tiramisu for the first time - I typically never finish a dessert on my own, but this was soooo delicious!
Food was great, Server was fantastic. Thouroughly enjoyed was just a little noisy with grinders and machines, talking etc.
Yummy pizza and pasta! Good service! :) will be back!
Casual get together. Food was good, portions were on the small side, but restaurant was nice and spacious for big groups or kids.
We celebrated 2 birthdays at Sopra Sotto on a Saturday afternoon. Really enjoyed the Aperole spritzer cocktail. Unfortunately the meal that another family member and I ordered was unavailable (we were informed quite a while after ordering). The food came out quite sporadically; my pizza came about 15 minutes after everyone else in our party had received theirs. It seemed like the restaurant was short staffed. That being said, the food that we did have (pasta, pork sandwich, pizzas) was delicious and the tiramisu was outstanding. I would like to give Sopra Sotto another try, perhaps at dinner time when there would hopefully be more staff on.
Our waiter was fun and very helpful with our wine choice and food selection. We were having a family meal and our entire family enjoyed the evening very much.
I would definitely go back! Great pasta specials! Next time, I will try the pizza - looked delicious!
Such a neighbourhood gem!!! The pasta and pizza were both delicious!! They also use pasta as straws; love the eco-friendly touch! This is my second time here and it definitely won’t be my last (especially now that it’s on OpenTable).
They could not honor our reservation, and then they don’t answer my calls when attempting to reschedule a new one.
Delicious food and great happy hour options! Our server was really friendly!
Pasta was al dente and pizza was perfect - definitely a must try. We will make it a regular hangout.
The service was not as good as the location on Hastings Street.
It wasn’t that super busy either at the resto.
One of my favourite spots in Vancouver! The pizza is amazing, as is all the homemade pasta!
It’s true Neapolitan pizza, so the middle is a bit soft and chewy (how I love it) but they can always cook it a bit more for those who like it a bit more crunchy. Whenever they have Burrata anything - order it. Seriously always amazing!
Staff is wonderful and very welcoming. Both locations (Burnaby and Vancouver) are awesome.
Food here was exceptional. Happy hour choices were great. Service needed improvement. We had a reservation but were ignored when we arrived. Two parties seated before us so I had to ask to be seated.
Food was overall amazing and the modern feel was great. Dishes were slightly salty but that might be because I ate a bit too much. Would definitely recommend others in the neighbourhood to try.
Very bright vibrant space with staff that speak of Their peers there as “family”. Casual dining prices with a high end menu.
Impeccable service and the best pizza in town! Would highly recommend.
The place was busy, not enough staff to go around. Waited forever for someone to take our order. Even for a drink.
Staff are friendly, but worked off their feet. Food isn’t cheap, when you consider it’s basically a pizza and pasta place. Food is very good , but serving could be bigger.
We really love the food the fun and the location
If only it wasn’t such a noisy room
Can’t really talk to anyone except the person sitting next to you
