Had a wonderful weekend staying at the Windham Hill Inn. Chef Neal does a wonderful job to bring delicious, farm to table meals every night along with a very nice wine selection. And they do this with pleasant, professional service.
On a sad note, Haycreek hotel management has decided to close this restaurant. After many years of dining here, a AAA four diamond destination, it seems inconceivable this has occurred. If you are a Windham Hill Inn guest, please contact the Inn so they can pass your comments and concerns along to Haycreek.

The simple fact is while guests recognize and enjoy the ambiance, unparalleled service & extraordinary cuisine, we don’t have enough of you. We've been here on multiple occasions and the food is always top notch! The service is a little slow so if you're absolutely starving, bake that into your expectations but the food is well worth it!
We had a very nice meal. The service was great and the facility is really quaint.
We come here every year for my husband’s birthday. The quail is delicious and we’ve not tasted better elsewhere! Thank you for the great service and wonderful food, and keeping the quality always!
We were so blown away by the attentive service and food quality! Chef Neil’s creations were flavorful and artfully plated. They were happy to accommodate our children (10 & 12) by modifying the pasta appetizer. Don’t forget to save room for the carrot cake and vanilla ice cream!

(FYI - The restaurant is in the main inn. There are no signs. Go all the way to the end of the street and the building is in front of you.)
The food was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was quiet and completely laid back, never felt rushed. Was a perfect dinner where we got to slow down and enjoy the experience.

Apparently we dined there on a bad night , I think the dining room and kitchen must of been way way under staffed , wasn’t really that busy but they just couldn’t get the food out , We sat at 7:45p and our entrees arrived a little after 10 pm ! Neil was very apologetic but then again nothing ( not even a glass of wine ) was comped , being in the business myself I felt something should of been , to make it worse I paid cash that night , but at check out the next day they charged me again for the meal lol ! So after I believe her name was kathy made a bunch of phone calls we finally straightened out the bill ! Amanda was awesome , and the room was nice
We had a wonderful Christmas celebration! Food was wonderful, atmosphere warm and festive.
Drove up to the Speckled Hen on a snowy Friday night, making for a beautiful trip from Dover. Neil, the executive chef and, Lisa, our server, served my wife and me a beautiful meal in a very charming environment. While everything was exceptional, the steak tar tar and crab cake are not to be missed. Neil has mastered these classics and many more! A visit is highly recommended.

We had dinner at the Speckled Hen both Friday and Saturday night. We also enjoyed breakfast both days. We loved every bite! The chef personally visited every table to make sure everyone was happy. We will be back and would recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Nothing short of INCREDIBLE. Truly one of the best meals we ever experienced. Subtle, wonderful flavors that add to the dish and not overwhelm it.
Downside... out in nowhere, requiring a 25 minute ride from anywhere.

Were in Vermont on vacation and had dinner at the Speckled Hen. We were very early and they were kind enough to accommodate us. Service and dinner were terrific. And the inn and grounds are beautiful.

Maybe an off night, but the dining room wasn’t prepared for serving all tables. Very long waits for everything: wine, bread, and meals. Dinner was average, nothing exceptional. Was here in past and was much better.
The Windham Hill on a Saturday night in summer is a beautiful place to have a quiet, long dinner in good company. However, if you are not planning to spend 3 hours dining, this may not be the best choice for you. The appetizers and amuse-bouche were delicious. The main course, dessert, and espresso were not impressive, unfortunately. The service also steadily declined throughout the meal as more guests arrived.
Very relaxed atmosphere -- food excellent; somewhat limited menu (same both nights we were there, except for soup); steak was tough and chef refused to charge for it. Quiet music; waitpeople very pleasant.
The Windham Hill Inn always delivers a great evening. The food was wonderful and the service was efficient but friendly.
This is the nicest place we have ever stayed. The food was amazing and the service was beyond exceptional. We are eagerly looking forward to our next stay.
The ambiance was lovely- a small Inn in the woods of Vermont- a fireplace in the dining room and only 10 tables or so. Service was impeccable - only "of course" and "it is my pleasure" as responses to questions/requests. The chef accommodated all requests with aplomb. The food was fresh, imaginatively and perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The wine list was expansive and covered the world. We had a Borolo by the glass- one of 3 reds so offered- that was a bit pricey per glass but the memory of it will linger and spoil lesser reds for quite some time.

The location, ambiance, service, presentation and quality of the food was nothing but perfect. The wine list left nothing to be asked for and we had the best night in Vermont.

Was there this time for 2 nites for my boyfriend’s birthday.
Filet mignon and pork tenderloin were cooked perfectly tho needed more salt / seasoning which was easily rectified.
Wine is far too costly. $18 a glass? $45 / bottle was the least expensive option. Gave it 4 stars for that reason. A reasonably priced wine is much preferred.

The bartender makes amazing maple old fashions and is wonderful at wine recommendations. The food and the service are exceptional. My wife and I will be back.
Overall, I found the ambiance to be very stuffy; the food was quite good, although not exceptional; the portions, especially the appetizer, was very skimpy (one scallop). The cost of the meal was outrageous; definitely catering to a very wealthy clientele.

Not great... they were out of things and service was unremarkable. There is no outdoor seating by the way ... not sure why Open Table has the option.

Windham Hill Inn is special in every way -- and the dining room is no exception. Meals are prepared deliciously and presented beautifully. The kitchen is very accommodating for any requests you might have, and the wait staff couldn't be lovelier. The setting is gorgeous. Dining out heaven.
Windham Hill Inn is a special place to visit. It is made even more enjoyable by the excellent host! We, especially, loved the quail appetizer. With our relatively small appetite, this along with the Windham Hill house salad, would suffice for dinner. That way we would be able to save room for dessert. Main courses are extra large on the meat size and are more than enough for two people. We brought half of one of our duck and the chicken paillard entrees home with us, and we still have not finished them! Recommend the inn and this restaurant highly.
