Great meal, all 5 of us already plan to return and / or order through Door Dash!
I love the sidewalk dining culture that has been forced on US society. Spinning Bones has a great set up. The service was excellent. The humour excellent. The food will bring me back: I had the pate starter and Trip's Triple for a main. Pate was superb. All the meat had a great smoky flavour which I loved. The accompanying sauces were added some great bite to the meats.
Great dinner and service!
Best meal I’ve had in a long time! Thank you!
Great good. Unique dishes, great flavor and high quality ingredient. Definitely unassuming in terms of location and ambience but excellent and one of the best spots in Alameda.
I know people come here for the meat dishes, but my meatless salad was truly one of the very best I have had in my like. I added roti and avocado. Fabulous.
Still outdoor service so I'm sure ambience and nose ratings would change if a murderous disease wasn't rampaging throughout the world. Food is amazing. The team member assisting me was incredibly patient and pleasant. My only complaint would be my soda was flat. But that Sando is worth a thousand flat diet cokes.
Great spot for carnivores. Went with a party of 8. Appetizers and entrees were quite good, as was the service.
An absolutely lovely lunch experience for our family.
I loved everything of it.
I strongly recommend it
Amazing food and wonderful service. We got a few plates to share and it was all delicious! Looking forward to going back to try something new very soon!
The food and the overall vibe are really outstanding. Well done
Everything was great. We were seated outside in front of the restaurant, which meant we had an occasion or two when there was loud road noise, but it was momentary and not a big inconvenience.
One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in my life. Went here for Father’s Day, food took over an hour and a half to come out with at least two hairs on my dish. Felt bad for the waitress because she completely overwhelmed and was a quiet woman, who didn’t help herself much. Never brought us cups for our pitcher of beer, the online menu didn’t work. Didn’t bring silverware when we finally got our food so we had to wait five more minutes. Whoever owns and or manages this restaurant needs to leave the restaurant business and enter a different industry, the world would be a better place!
Went here on Father’s Day because we’ve ordered for pick up in the past & food was great. The in-person experience on this special day was not what we expected. We had noon reservations, but they were still in the midst of setting up umbrellas & tables when we got there. Staff seemed over burdened & not very friendly. Was barked at by one person when he asked if we had checked in. We waited to check in for about 10-15 minutes & despite people seeing us there, no one acknowledged us. We saw very little of our waitress & relied on another server for help since waitress didn’t check on us after food arrived, which took a while. We wanted to order more food, but decided to cut our losses. In total we were there for 2 hours. A table before us with 4 people was in & out in about an hour. Not sure why that happened. They ordered more food than we did & had one more person. Food was terrific, but we were disappointed with service. I imagine they’re still making adjustments to staff given COVID. We’ll order food again for pickup because we support our local businesses, but we are unlikely to return to eat there given our experience.
They're outdoor dining experience for COVID is really nice. Heaters, tent, very distanced. The crab and shrimp rice special we ordered for valentine's day was surprisingly bland given the description, and overpriced. Brussels sprouts were good, much more flavor. Worth trying something on their regular menu next time.
Love the "Boneyard" setting for Spinning Bones in these pandemic times.
Plenty of distancing and feeling very safe.
We shared the Prime Rib Special - delicious! The horseradish sauce perfect, and while we were worried the baked potato would be too 'truffle-y', we loved it and it disappeared.
We also had their cauliflower side ... so yummy.
Pro tip - if you order it to take home use the "Dispatch" to go containers and help support a 'greener' world. For $5 (4.99) you get packed in metal containers and simply rinse and return.
Thanks Spinning Bones Team for a wonderful Valentine's dinner out!
Spinning bones NEVER fails, the best restaurant in Alameda. Dining during COVID means you can only eat in their "yard" located across the street from the restaurant. Not the best atmosphere (there are no dedicated bathrooms, there are only 2 porta-potty's) but could be worse. Staff is great, god bless them for running across Park St to get us our food!
So good! Try the sweet potato appetizer!
My 2nd time at Spinning Bones. Once again I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We brought friends and they agreed that the food was delicious. We ate family style since we couldn't figure out what deliciousness to order, so we ordered everything! It was the right thing to do1 The roti is the best; the koji chicken is the reason I wanted to go back. Our only disappointment was that they were out of the butter mochi dessert. Oh well, we'll have to go back again. Thanks Mike!
What a neighborhood delight! Deliciously creative and healthful dishes with flair and care. OK - well - grilled meats - aren't the usual definition of healthful. BUT it's oh so good and their salads are gorgeous to accompany the amazing roasted pork. We literally tried so many delicious dishes on the menu - 2 salads - chicken and beet salad, 3 desserts - great chocolate peanut butter tart, strawberry guava popsicle, all the grilled meats and their wonderful chimmichuri sauce, fried chicken appetizer, sweet potato fritters....all sooo good. Another surprise - the sides- the cauliflower was grilled and tossed with lots of yummy bits - roast shallots? Come on over folks and enjoy this neighborhood gem!!!! So wonderful... AND the restaurant is run by the nicest folks - talented AND nice - great combo.
Food, service, staff was fantastic and will definitely go there again!
Great food and great service
Ribs and chicken were good, but shoulder and beef subpar. Dessert choices minimal.
Outstanding food. We had the Triple and the Ribs and it was awesome. Possibly the best restaurant in Alameda. Fairly small place with tables close together. Very friendly staff.
Casual place (reservation wasn't really needed) with delicious food - we got the meat sampler platter and enjoyed all the options. The chicken was particularly good. We'll be back!
This is a beautiful space and the people who work there are very nice. Unfortunately, I did not read the menu carefully before going. I expected "roasted meats." I did not expect the very Japanese twist on most of the items, which is not my favorite food.
In addition, while the chicken nuggets were tasty, they were so hot (temperature) that I burned my mouth. Even after letting the dish sit for 5-10 minutes, I still burned myself.
I also do not like the policy of bringing things from the kitchen when they are ready. While I understand the restaurant's point, it's not very conducive to a comfortable dining experience when one person has almost finished their food and their companion is still waiting for theirs.
Wonderful place to grab some good food. Everything we had was excellent.
We throughly enjoyed this new addition to restaurants in n Alameda. Service was friendly and professional. We tried St Louis Pork Ribs and and the Trip’s Triple. Both were delicious and we shared, it’s a lot of food. It’s noteworthy that this restaurant is about meat and it’s cooked on rotisserie. We will definitely return!
Wife and I here for restaurant week. They couldn’t make the special but instead they had a short rib which was incredible. Also had the edamame with bacon appetizer and the chicken salad. Perfect diner for two!
One of my favorite go to spots in the East Bay! Obsessed with the Ribs and Pork Shoulder, the humus is really good as well. Everything pairs well with sake!
Nice ambiance and rotisserie meats. This new place has promise.
My husband and I went to dinner with another couple. Although the four of us ordered different dishes and they were delicious, we were disappointed we each got our dish one at a time, at different times. All our server could tell us was the other orders would be out soon, but "soon" was more than 5 minutes! In order for us to enjoy our food while it was hot, we each ate our dish and shared it with our table mates while they waited for their orders. Spinning Bones needs to work on the timing of delivering food to tables.
The food is amazing! The service is friendly funny, and on point. Spinning Bones is a great addition to Alameda. I can’t wait to come back!
We went for Restaurant Week, I had the special ramen while my wife ordered from the standard menu. We thought the food was pretty good, but my wife would have liked it a lot spicier. Our table was so-so, right in the path of a busy passageway -that's why I'm deducting stars for ambience. That said, the food was pretty good and we enjoyed it. Would likely return in the future.
Only negative comment was the portion size of the steak entree. Puny.
Staff attentive to customers needs. Food is great but wish potato salad serving was bigger since it was really good. Will definitely come back.
Great, interesting food served in a casual, friendly setting.
