The food was great! Just know if you order “small plates” the portions are large.
after 3 of us sharing plates specifically informed wait person we were sharing and asking for 3 plates ordered 2 3-Taco plates and beet salad. we expected salad to come 1st but came with complete order. we asked to return tacos after we enjoyed our salad (which was great). tacos were cold when they arrived.
Yummy food, not especially innovative (except for the Suda bowl, a little unusual and tasty), but well done overall, nice presentations, fresh ingredients, reasonable portions, outstanding service. We will come back.
We had not been for several years and found it had improved a lot! Love the hamachi carpaccio!
Great food! Love the ambiance!
Our group consisted of two teenagers and four adults. We were able to secure a reservation for the six of us with only an hour and a half notice. On a Wednesday night before Thanksgiving day. Two of us ordered the cheeseburger with the vegetables on the side, Two ordered the fish tacos, one the shrimp tacos and I ordered the spring pasta with no added protein. Everything was delicious! Everything we ordered was between $15.00 and $17.00 for each plate, and there was nothing any of us would change about our dishes. The teens inadvertently ordered a non-alcoholic drink that was not tasty to either of them (they did not realize it was fancy sparkling water,) and the waitress was kind enough to switch the drinks out for something they'd like more. The restaurant is open and a little loud, with no privacy in the first open room. It looked like there was a back dining area for private events (or perhaps for busy nights.) We will definitely be back. A great Open Table find!
The food was amazing!!! I’m licking my lips just thinking about it! I can’t wait to go back :)
Outstanding service. French toast and Bloody Mary were fantastic!
my steak was tough for the price of $35, we were basically forgotten but server was very nice about it and gave us a $10 credit.
Very nice combination in the dinner and eventhough it took longer to chew my steak, my son’s was fine, and mine tasted excellent.
Great experience for Restaurant Week - delicious pork belly, vegan cheesecake and more. Go early if noir bugs you.
Really fun restaurant, nice atmosphere. Nice bar area with many, varied drink choices. The food being served was good looking. I chose a vegetarian option which was really good.
Came for SCRW as the menu looked amazing. The glazed carrots and other veggies was really good. The scallops were to die for, the pork belly was okay and on the sweet side. The desserts were mixed. The cheesecake was FABulous! while the forbidden fruit was a complete deconstructed disaster and just plain weird.
Had a nice dinner. Not too busy. Good service. Will be back!
We dined for Sunday brunch on Labor Day weekend which should be one of the busiest brunches of the year. We found the restaurant severely understaffed, yet still taking “open table” reservations. The servers were pleasant, but the service was very slow...our feeling is that management here is lacking. I would expect to see a manager or better yet an owner working but this place seemed to be on “auto-pilot.” The food was ok but the feeling of an overwhelmed staff created an unpleasant experience. They comped our non-alcoholic blueberry drink as it looked like lemonade with two crushed blueberries sunk on the bottom of the glass...a ridiculous concoction.
Twice in a row the pasta was extremely greasy (you wonder why they need to use oil) and the burger very well done and dry.
Had to waive down our waitress constantly. Red wine came with the wine spilled all around the glass. Starter was delicious but entrees not great.
The amazing staff make it all worth it. Quality high end food. And a staff of workers who create a neighborhood feel that is comforting and inviting. Jade is amazing. Melanie is incredible. They are both so dope!
We like Suda and go fairly regularly but the food and service can be uneven at times. Latest example is that we had some wonderful drinks and puu puu’s but it took them three times to cook a burger medium rare. Each time it wasn’t even close. We finally just sent it back. How hard can a burger be?? Hopefully chalk it up to a bad day.
Suda is by far the best dining experience in Santa Cruz County.
Food was good. Service was even better. And the price was awesome! Loved it.
We arrived for our 5:30 reservation, and were seating immediately. We were deciding on our choices for food, and the waiter checked on us every few minutes until we had finally decided on one of the many great choices on the menu. This took about 15-20 minutes. We received our food about 10 minutes from when we ordered. After that, things moved into slow motion. We finished our meals in about 20 minutes, but didn't see the wait staff for nearly 40 minutes. We requested dessert, and it took thirty minutes to get to us. After receiving our dessert, we didn't see our final bill for 30 more minutes. We were finally able to get on with our evening over 2 hours after arriving. I'm glad that Suda is so busy, it is very hard to keep a restaurant successful. I only wish we had gotten more timely service. The food is great, and the staff is very upbeat.
Food is delicious and the menu is refined but not portentious so my whole family ages 8-72 was stoked.
Apparently they changed Chefs, because the normally outstanding Kale Caesar Salad with Chicken, was terrible.
The croutons were stale, the chicken was dry, and the way they made it was completely different. Big chunky croutons that tasted like orange cheese....not delectable little crumbs like before. The chicken was dry and wimpy.
You can't miss with the detox salad; their fish of the day dish is always great, too! And a full bar; that's the cherry on top!
Great service and feed was good! Will definitely be back!
The salad was $26 for bagged lettuce! There were 2 slices of a small radish (no watermelon radishes per the menu) the salmon was cold, the gin and tonic watery and the server was indifferent when I mentioned it. I eat here weekly if not more...the time before the salad was also similarly disappointing...the shrimp were TINY and cold when it arrived as were the sweet potato fries.
Fantastic Brunch! Great cocktails and great service
Very good food and creative flavors but service could be better.
Jade is the best!!!!!
Food was good, great burger. Liked the crispy artichoke and the shrimp tacos were delish. Service was very iffy. Had a change of servers and the new person seemed very busy and it took a long time to take our check. All in all, it was ok though.
Great Halibut, great service, great drinks lovely evening outside.
Great menu with interesting choices. Great waitress. Little noisy due to the game being on. Vanilla desert was simple but so good.
A favorite place yet high noise level (no buffer) requires speak louder for conversation; "olive" offering now has less variety; cheeseburger is divine.
Waited for an hour to get appetizers, and other half hour for main dishes - wait, only four of our six orders came out... where is the rest? and no one has silverware’s... another 15 minutes went by... now finally everyone has their food, so finally eating my taco, cold taco. Worst service in a long long time
We move this place. From an excellent brunch to a great dinner. We had burgers and pasta. Good burger but a great pasta dish! The staff is very very friendly. Until next time.
We just go for appetizers and their wonderful bar and wine selections.
Nice food, nice room, warm and personable servers. The home friend potatoes were a little oily, but otherwise the food was well prepared.
What was great was that I made a reservation and when I arrived early they immediately sat us down. They also gave us a booth instead of seating us in the middle of the restaurant - that immediately impressed me. Great quality food and service!
Great food in Santa Cruz. Reasonable prices. Excellent selection on menu.
Inventive cocktails! Meals were very good; menu not vast. Service staff friendly and knowledgable.
