Sugar Factory - Meatpacking District
Daughter enjoyed her sweet 16,. Long wait for table even with a reservations.
I feel like the food and drinks weren't as good as my first visit years ago. But the waiter was incredibly nice - and the food was pretty good, not outstanding but fine. You will pay a hefty price tag though - the drinks are incredibly expensive. But it's fun and great with kids or tweens.
I've been a bartender for over 20 years and I have NEVER encountered the service we had at this restaurant, which was practically nothing! We waited over 26 minutes to get drinks and the adults got their drinks before the kids (who only got Shirley Temples) who waited 33 minutes. Our original server, who only took our order (and forgot to put two meals in), came over to us and told us she was leaving and someone else would be our server. I have never been so confused! I try and have patience and understanding because I am in this business, but I was literally cleaning up the empty glasses and appetizer plates and putting them on the bar just to get them off the table. I never said a word to a manager or anything, and I just kept telling myself (and the other adults I was with) that we were there for the ambiance and for the kids to have fun which they did. We had 3 teenage girls who were so excited to go there because the celebrities go there, so we left it at that and they had a blast. I would not recommend this restaurant at all!
Loved the ice cream sundae.
I love it so much I made reservations to return on February 8th
There was too many kids there screaming and running around at 10pm I was annoyed
Out of most wines, out of the couture pops, and out of Pink Princess milkshake. Went for our daughter’s birthday and of course she wanted a pop and that pink shake. It was ok, but not the level I expected.
My sons and I went to eat at the sugar factory before the lakers Vs. knicks game on 1/22/2020. It was great dining and dessert experience. The bartender was the best, especially when he brought out my watermelons/raspberry mojito!
I celebrated my 1 year anniversary with my girlfriend and it was an amazing experience. The food and drinks were great. Our waiter was very nice, chill and checked on us. He asked if we were celebrating anything and when we ordered dessert he brought it with a sparkle candle, which was above and beyond. My girlfriend loved it and I couldn’t ask for a better experience.
It was very good and the service was excellent but very expensive
MUSIC was too LOUD even for a high energy place. Server was slow
We had a good time, but many of the utensils were dirty and the food seemed frozen.
Such a cute concept! Food was ok, youre paying more for the experience.
Jan was the best server! He was super high energy and made it a very special night.
Great atmosphere! Great food & Drinks! Well worth the prices. My family and I loved it!
Horrible service the waiter was very rude and spoke in nasty street language we had to wait about 25 minutes for two cups of water I’ve never experienced this kind of bad service.
The food took a long time to come out and it wasn't hot when it did. Some of our order had to be reheated.
Very disappointing travel for girls weekend, service was horrible!!! Lots of parties so no attention to small groups! Waited 15 minutes for water, 30+ for dinner!
Courteous, attentive service by Jasmine. Good food with t reasonable prep time. The hostess accommodated or large party without hesitation, even when an unexpected guest arrived. It was a memorable party for my teens. Thanks
As always, a phenomenal experience. Super chill vibes, fun decor. One of my favorite spots in Meatpacking. I got the root beer float cocktail (two, actually... so good) with the donut burger and fries (messy, yes, but so worth it). Friends also got burgers with popcorn shrimp and the ever famous goblet. $40 is pricey, yes, but when you're there, you'll want to feel like you're on holiday. So, why not?
Great Experience but it was too cold in there or where I was sitting at!
My birthday dinner
People that work there are amazing. The only complains the beer is always warm. We had to ask for it to be chilled.
I really enjoyed everything here the food was decent snack/family type food so I believe it was a tiny bit overpriced for that kind of food but no real complaints about the food taste wise. Service was good. The drinks were delicious but you definitely pay for the show of it the giant goblets are $40 yet the actual drink comes to the double in a normal sized glass so I don’t think there’s actually much alcohol in it? The drinks are cool though. I went on a Tuesday and I was disappointed that the upstairs wasn’t open and I never saw any of this information online I would’ve liked to have been upstairs in a nicer area than the small dining room. Overall the experience was good but I will definitely plan better and go on a night the upstairs bars are open next time. I do recommend it though and will be going back.
My daughters 5th birthday! Food was amazing. My daughter loves the music that was played, the atmosphere, and of course her (non-alcoholic) “smokey drink 😊
Didnt expect the food to be as good as it was. Our waiter was great. Drinks where a little pricy for non alcoholic.
Sliders were slightly over cooked and dry. $20 for not even half a pound of semi stale candy is not what I’d hope for. Experience was okay not to sure if I’d come back.
My family and I made reservations to celebrate my niece’s 13th birthday. We made reservations for a party of 11
Perfect for Birthdays and date night. Great brunch spot also.
It was a party type of environment. Good music but it is loud. Like sing along and no one will hear you loud, but not painfully loud.this is not an intimate date setting. The drinks are like $40 each and the tables are close enough to touch you neighbors.... Frequently
Our wait time for the table once we checked in was less than 5 mins. The table was perfect! Our waiter was extremely professional and attentive. We were having a good time when he was taking our order and he took the time to ask twice about any food allergies which we had some in the table and I thought that was amazing since he didn’t get an answer first he asked again to double check! My family and I had a wonderful experience.
everything was perfect.
Had a 6:30 pm Saturday reservation for 4 and had to wait 45 minutes for a table in the corner of the basement next to the kitchen. Place was packed, noisy, smelly, and hot. Food was forgettable. Service was good even though the wait was frustrating. Bartender was excellent. Will not be returning. Kids love the drinks and opportunities for selfies with colorful food and drinks. Not my thing and will not return.
Birthday experience gone wrong.
Forgotten- overpaid- such a shame!
I took my 12 year old daughter and her three friends here for her birthday. We had a reservation at 3:30, and we were not seated until about 20 minutes later. The waiting area was very tiny, so we were told we could wait on the mezzanine and take some photos. This area was even smaller than the first. When we finally were seated, we were given one menu, which was broken, and told that all the other menus were being used. The plates on the table were wet and dirty. Water glasses were dirty. We ordered two signature drinks that came out in glasses with the Sugar Factory logo that was faded off. The apps came out after about an hour. The bread on the sliders was hard, like it had been frozen, defrosted, and microwaved. Mac and cheese pops and spinach artichoke dip were delicious. Also had the sampler, which was tasty. Three girls ordered grilled cheese, and all 3 came out cold. My quesadilla was blah, no flavor. The last child ordered a waffle, and it came out 20 minutes after the rest of us were all done eating. Milkshakes were impressive, and fondue was delish. Not mad about the $5 they charged me for the sparkler, but really? I spent $351 and left a $75 tip - they could have thrown in the sparkler or asked me if I wanted to pay for it first. I then spent $100 on candy. Again, don't care about the price, but for that price I expect clean and new. We were there from 3:30-6:10. Loooooong time. My daughter and her friends were super excited to be there and thought it was a great time. Through adult eyes, this place is outdated, dirty, and the food is not worth the price. Even the gimmicks they have aren't going to keep this place afloat if they do not fix it. Someone should call the board of health on them. Yuck, yuck, and yuck. Take your family to a Broadway Play instead.
Great place! Fish bowl a little pricey for non-alcoholic beverages. Our waitress was wonderful! Thank you!
