Supernormal - City
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: 11AM – MIDNIGHT
We are open Mother's Day, Sunday 13th May from 11.00am until 11.00pm.
They sat us at counter with reservations then forced us to spend over an hour mostly waiting by delaying our food. Didn’t ask if we wanted a long lunch at the counter. When we asked for our food it still took another 20 minutes. Pretentious with disappointing result. Staff was friendly but distracted.
New experience for us but we loved the food and the service was great!
Food was amazing and it was the perfect place for a boozy lunch.
Substantial main meals - get group of friends together to share.
Service was spot on - food amazing. Lobster Buns are a must!
Very poor vegetarian options.. tasty but expensive
Lived up to everything I had heard about it - Cheers
We had a great lunch at Supernormal for my husbands birthday. We had the banquet menu and enjoyed every dish. The lobster roll is as good as everyone says! Plus we also had my 18 month old son with us and even though I was worried about having a young child with us we were made to feel so welcome. We’ll definitely be back!
The Supernormal experience is always 5 Star. I recommend trying the banquet as it’s the best way to sample the signature dishes.... lobster roll, slow cooked lamb and the Sydney rock oysters are amazing.
Exceptional food and fantastic service, but very expensive
Waitress was wonderful and very accommodating to our needs & the food was delicious as per usual. The beauty of this place is the consistency - never disappointed.
Excellent location, amazing food. Nothing is too much trouble. Ordered throughout the afternoon and ate at a casual and relaxed pace. Tanya is an amazing hostess and always looks after us. Always a must when we visit from NSW
I loved everything about Supernormal. Such a clean restaurant! Amazing service, all our servers were so lovely. And the food was so well executed.
Excellent food and service as always - visiting Melbourne it’s had to go past Supernormal!
It's too salty. Service wasn't good too, except when we were about to leave.
Single tables are too close together, I felt like my neighbours were on top of us.
Unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy and finish the last meal of our banquet as we were running late to the theatre, however we asked for our dessert to be takeaway.
We had Linner ( 3.30pm) for husbands birthday. Fabulous in EVERY way from the very experienced staff who were both knowledgeable and friendly to the food that was beyond delicious. Highly recommend the Lobster Rolls, Dumplings, Slow Cooked Lamb and the amazing Parfait for dessert. YUM can't wait to go again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our long lunch on Saturday. Faultless flavours and attention to detail. Will be back.
Top shelf team, from booking through to saying good-bye. All right on the money.
We were very late getting to our booking, but did not present any of the team with an issue. They moved and changed all parts to fit with us.
Brilliant wine list, with a clearly engaged and assionate Somm. Made the lunch a real discovery with a couple of stunners in amongst it.
All that before you have to even consider the food, its clearly a winner restaurant. Busy, but not deafening loud, it had all of the boxes ticked for us.
Such a great lunch. My server was awesome, the food was amazing and I've never had bar top dining like this!
Great food and ambience. Dined with overseas guests who loved the whole Asian Fusion.
This restaurant has a real buzz: going from nearly empty at 1230 to full by 1pm. We had a banquet menu which was sensational: each mouthful a surprise on the palate not to mention visually interesting. Despite the fine food, the atmosphere is relaxed. Wait staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The wine was recommended and fabulous. My only downside was that I thought it was a touch pricey: particularly the water and wine. Having said that, I will be going back and so will my friend who’s determined to bring her husband so he can also experience a feast for the senses.
First time dining, won't be the last. Innovative food, beautifully prepared and presented, staff who are knowledgeable, great atmosphere - buzzy but unhurried.
Couldn’t fault our lunch at Supernormal.
Wait staff were attentive but not in our face.
Food was delicious. We had steak tartare, prawns, dumplings, lobster rolls, fresh greens, fish and ginger dessert and toffee dessert. A few beers to begin and a soft red.
It was a Friday lunch and we weren’t rushed.
Food was a letdown compared to our visit 6 months ago. Flavours weren't there in our favourite dishes. Service was impeccable. Won't return.
We were in Melbourne for a three day break from work in Sydney. I love Cumulus Inc and a chance to fit Supernormal into our schedule was grabbed. We loved all the food! The selection was varied and large, with plenty of healthy and vegetarian options. The vegetable dumplings were oh so plump with beautiful flavour and the steamed greens oozed freshness. Just yummy!
All the wait staff were helpful and friendly.
I invite friends to Supernormal for their birthdays, and it never fails to impress. When the hostess found out it was my friend's birthday, she brought out a special treat with a candle on it. It made her day! The lobster rolls are amazing, and we have tried nearly everything else on the menu - all excellent!
Interesting and delicious food - perfect choice for a long over-due catch up over a long Sunday lunch.
My family really enjoyed all the time and we visited the place very often. The staffs are really nice and food.....always top top top
We flew down from the Sunshine Coast that morning and we just had to come to Supernormal for the second time, this time for lunch. We introduced the restaurant to a couple of friends and we all loved it. The tasty aromatic dishes is simply first class. The staff were also very knowledgeable and proficient. A must for anyone's visit to Melbourne.
To be honest! Whilst the food was good it deffinently didn’t take my breath away. Pretty pricy for what we got. The duck was very disappointing. Generally pretty flat afterwards as I was so excited to go.
Delicious food!!! Ticked of my every growing list of places to eat in Melbourne.
This was my first time at Supernormal and we had the banquet meal for $68 plus an excellent bottle of Soave. This was a great way to sample the dishes and all very presented beautifully. The food was fresh and there was a selection of Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese style dishes. The menu starts of with entree size options and then moves to more substantial dishes. The salted caramel dessert was a brilliant way to top of the tasting menu. I felt satisfied but not stuffed full. I would definitely come back - my only criticism is that the place was a bit noisy but not unbearable. I would see this as a lunch place rather than a dinner venue or business meal venue. Not private or quiet enough for business discussions. The service was friendly and efficient. The staff were knowledgeable about the dishes.
The food did not taste fresh to us. It did not feel like it was cooked with effort and the dishes looked messy on the plates. We were one of the first customers there for the day so you would have assumed there was enough time for the dishes. Disappointing. We had heard amazing things about it but the dishes were certainly not up to scratch in our view.
Consistently good with their food, wine and service. Flexible with dishes which is a bonus.
Fantastic food, great flavours and our server was brilliant. Would recommend to anyone!
The staff are just so lovely here! Knowledgeable and attentive, and the food was great, fresh and tasty.
All in all great meal for a reasonable price. I did the banquet deluxe menu, the only thing I would say was wrong and it wasn’t even wrong was that the waygu beef bun was a bit heavy.
Supernormal continues to deliver consistently good food and service. I would highly recommend this high end establishment
Thank you once again Supernormal. The service, food and overall experience continues to be exceptional. Awesome!
