I went here for an anniversary dinner and it was the most exquisite dining experience. Every bite of food that went into our mouths tasted delicious!!! We did the Chef's Tasting paired with supplement A. We also got the red ale (beer) and that paired perfectly with all of the nigiris. Our server, Josh was also really attentive, thorough and really pulled together the entire experience! Thank you Sushi Shio for an amazing dinner, we will definitely be back!
Very tasty sushi. Somewhat limited menu but the quality was very impressive. Ambiance was so so.
Everything was pleasant!
High end sushi made with love. Delicious but expensive
Best sushi we’ve had in awhile. We suggest the sashimi and sushi tasting platters. OUTSTANDING
Amazing experience - great food and service!
Love this sushi place. Price is reasonable too. We always come back to this place.
For the price, the chefs tasting was a little bit disappointing. a few of the dishes were spectacular, a few were just nice yummy sushi, and a few were actually not very good. But for the cost and presentation, you'd expect the entire flow of the meal to be spot-on perfect sushi. I'd happily go back to get the excellent red miso soup and maybe try a few of the specialty appetizers and things like that, but I would not have the chef's tasting again, and there is better sushi to be had in San Francisco for similar price.
So good. Amazing food and perfect service.
Great food. Sushi was darn good. And the service was on point. Very courteous staff. Would dine here again.
Incredible evening of tasting menu!!!! Couldn't ask for better!!!!
Get the chef's choice tasting menu if you can. You'll leave full but not stuffed. The quality of the fish was great, the presentation very good. Portion of each piece was a bit small. Large selection of sake, a few beers, a few wines. No cocktails. The yuzu panna cotta was the perfect way to finish off the meal. Space is small and a little awkward, but quiet.
Way overpriced and not worth it
We love sushi….Sushi Shio is 5 Star! They have the most fresh fish, most delicious freshly pickled ginger, and some of the best wasabi ever! Thank you sushi shio it was a wonderful lunch. Laura Lynn SF.
Food was highly overpriced for the quality. Service was great, but will not be coming back due to other sushi places being more reasonably priced and better quality.
Nothing special, there's tons of sushi restaurants in the vicinity that outperform sushi shio's offering
The sushi is truly top notch. World class. But... expect very small pieces. Very small. And the wine/saki pours are the smallest I think I've ever seen. It takes 3 pours to achieve what should be 2. You'll end up spending a lot more than you expected due to the portion sizing on everything.
Had a fantastic dinner. Thank you Sushio Shio, can't wait to come back!
I'd say it's very good, but I had to order a pizza after that meal. Paid $140 for 10 pc sashimi and 6 nigiri with a beer. Of course that's not why you go to such restaurant. Was it very good ? Yes. Do they have options ? Yes. But you will still be hungry unless you are willing to put a ton more money.
Top notch sushi and service. Highly recommend the omakase menu.
Best sushi in the Bay Area.
A lovely space for dinner
The presentation, the service, and most of all the food was fantastic. So pleased that we had the omakase.
Amazing quality food, amazing service
Fish are fresh, but water I got have weird taste. Soy sauce have writes taste too
We both went for the Chef’s Choice Tasting Menu, and Were both was extremely happy with the choice. Service was impeccable. I really don’t think any can go wrong with choosing this restaurant. I would definitely suggest this place for a date.
Food comes really slow, we spent well around 2 and half hour there waiting for foods for two people, and all we ordered was two set of sushi and a rice bowl. And because of this, we missed the firework on 7.4.
Also they brought me the wrong check which I ended up pay like 3x of what I ordered. But after calling them to appeal the issue, they quickly resolved it.
Given the name, the sushi tasting overall skewed too salty for our group. Like the value though, glad we did not splurge.
Amazing sushi and excellent service! Fish was super fresh and perfectly made.
The restaurant was excellent. Their casual dress policy is kind as we came underdressed for dinner from seeing the city. He staff were excellent! By far the best experience we had in the city. Our waiter was kind to help us navigate the menu quite well. We had the Omokase. It was excellent! I discovered a unique sake that I will have to search for to relive a portion of the experience. After the meal, they were kind enough to offer us a anniversary portion of a select dessert. In comparison to Uchi Austin, it on par and quite inviting. I will be visiting again when our travels bring us to San Francisco again.
Food was delicious and service was impeccable! Would go back! ❤️🍣
Very strong disinfectant smell (I'm very glad everything was clean, but is spoiled the delicate flavors of the sushi!). Very loud pop music, not at all at the level of the AMAZING sushi served. I was sat at the bar, in the middle of 2 open doors where there was a strong draught.
Very unpleasant feeling and setting, with OUTSTANDING sushi and rice.
Amazing food and great service. I love all the food so fresh
Great sushi! Be sure to savour the complexity of tastes that hits you!
Josh, our server, was super nice. He recommended good sake and made our meals very enjoyable. Service was impeccable.
Thanks Josh for the free delicious deserts (pana cotta yuzu) to bring home.
We definitely will come back.
Just enjoyed a nice dinner with the wife who really enjoys traditional if not, innovative sushi. The sushi rice was good, whole grain/slightly al dente/lightly seasoned. The fish seemed fresh but not aged for taste or texture. No inventive marinating or seasoning was present, which would really show off the Kitchen's expertise. That being said, all nigiri was solid. Surprisingly, the most memorable dish was the uni don served in a bowl. That was memorable with the SB uni mixed with rice, then topped with Japanese uni and ikura, i believe which put it over the top. The sunomono served at the front was generous and tasty but not a masterpiece. The panacotta served last the end was refreshing. Service was very good and the server introduced every dish and answered every question. Sake pours were generous. All around good experience
Very limited menu and really high quality delicious seafood but so expensive. We don’t drink and left the dinner still hungry and still spent about $180. It just didn’t feel worth it. I also don’t feel great about eating fish flown overseas that are possibly overfished. All bad for the environment and bad for the pocketbook. There are other high end sushi places in town with better ambiance and many restaurants that focus on sustainability. And there’s very little ambiance here - very sterile feeling. Won’t be back.
Service was not great. First, when we ordered a wine, the server said not to get that one as it wasn’t very good. The menu is small- why have a bad wine on the menu. Then 4 of us ordered the omakase and we also had 1 child with us and they weren’t very willing to make any accommodations. The food in the omakase was good though.
My first time at this relatively new restaurant. Sushi was excellent. Service was attentive and wonderful. The place was not full at lunch probably still recovering slowdown due to Covid restrictions. Highly recommended!
Great quality fish and rolls.
