Formerly in Queens, our restaurant created a space for people to eat, drink, celebrate, and experience Eastern European cuisine. Now in the West Village, we aim to bring our community together for a meal that makes you feel at home. Sveta is new, but also homey and modern. Walk in for a beer or a quick bite, or bring a party of 60 and dance until midnight.

Family style European/Ukrainian cuisine with a Portuguese influence. Join us to celebrate, love life and family.

    This place is a walking instagram photoshoot waiting to happen. From the drinks to the food, everything is nicely done with an elevated twist. Got the lobster roll which seems small, but is jam packed with meat. Also did an order of French toast which were super light and fluffy. Definitely a place to visit again.

    The service was so slow for a restaurant that was very empty The pictures online are very deceiving the food was horrible and honestly worst meal I had in New York I feel bad saying that but it was hyped up online and the food was so bad and the service was not very nice to make up for it

    So i had made a reservation for 1:45 when i arrived there was no host to greet me there was also line a people who been waiting to be seated for there reservation no host ever came to the front to greet me or anything we just end up leaving what an disappointment

    I recently dined at Sveta and, unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. The seating arrangement was uncomfortably cramped with no personal space, making the dining experience rather unpleasant. There wasn’t enough servers, the service was notably lacking. We were never approached by a server to check on our satisfaction or if we needed anything during our meal. This lack of attention was quite disappointing. The absence of a hostess was also noticeable and contributed to a disorganized atmosphere. This seemed to reflect on the overall service quality. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The dishes lacked the flavor and quality I anticipated, leaving much to be desired. Additionally, the drinks were a letdown. Not only were they unnecessary, but they also failed to complement the meal in any way. Overall, my experience at Sveta was underwhelming. The combination of cramped seating, inattentive service, unremarkable food, and subpar drinks made for a dining experience that I would not recommend. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, and improvements are made for future patrons.

    This place is awesome and the staff is very kind and accommodating. We were about 15 minutes late so we had to wait a bit for our table but they gave us glasses of champagne to sip on and shots at the end of our meal. The ambiance and decor in this place is so unique! The food was good but nothing overly special. Definitely would come here again!

    Delicious food and drinks. Waited 45 mins for our table, my party and I got free glasses of champagne, but was still annoying. Other than the wait, a great experience!

    We decided to give it a try since we saw this cute place on social media. We made a reservation for two for 8:00 pm, got there 5 past 8 and had to wait 30 mnt in order to be seated. Looks like there’s a high demand, yet the place is small and crowded and they can’t manage or honor your time. Once we were seated we waited about 10 mnt for the server whom wasn’t even enthusiastic about doing his job. Drinks were good and had a nice presentation. Site it’s nicely decorated for the season. Food was alright. It’s not worth the hype.

    Outside of a few items the food was pretty gross. The service was really really awful. 1 waiter for a full restaurant + 1 bus boy. No water refills. $10 for a tea. Avoid!

    Such a cute restaurant!!! Love the decorations and warm lighting. It was definitely visually appealing. It was Halloween theme 🎃👻🩸🧙‍♀️ since it’s October, so they had fun spooky cocktails and shots. The food was good too. At the end we got a little sparkler candle ✨🎂 (celebrating a birthday) with some delicious crepe cake and one of the guests from a table near by got up and sang to us 🎶🎤 😭😂 It was a cute experience overall. ** be mindful it will be a pretty penny 💰 but it was worth it to me, & I hope the same for you! **

    Decorations are pretty cool, so if you are in for an instagram, it's the perfect spot. Felt we were very rushed by the wait staff, who we're trying to clear our food before we finished, but the creative drinks and plating is pretty cute.

    Celebrated my daughter’s birthday, it was a truly wonderful brunch. Gorgeous decor, fun drinks (with Virgin options) and fantastic food. The hosts and bartender were warm and welcoming. I think I will go back to celebrate my birthday there! Thank you Sveta!

    My biggest complaint was the wait time. My fiancé and I arrived at shortly before 8 for our 8pm reservation and was met with a line. After asking about our table we were told we would be seated in 5 minutes. We wouldn't sit till and hour later. I had the burger which wasn't amazing but the octopus appetizer and fillet mignon were good. I wouldn't mind going back to try other things on the menu but it definitely wouldn't be a Friday evening. I learned my lesson there.

    You won’t be disappointed! The staff was amazing and everything came out quick. We had so much fun and the Halloween decorations are beautiful! The food was delicious!

    Overall not a good experience. There was only one server for the entire restaurant, so waited long for any kind of service including drinks. Additionally, we were a table of 2 people and they added gratuity to check, even though the menu did not state that and in NYC it is illegal to add gratuity to a table with less than 5 people. The thing that really bothered me was that the waiter did not tell me the gratuity was included, so I initially added another 18% (because it is not customary for restaurants to add gratuity for a table of 2) to the check but decided to check and noticed the charge. I think the waiter was aware his service was lacking (sucked) so he decided to add the gratuity on in fear we did not give him the 18% and to lock in his money. Although the drinks are unique (but expensive!) and different, the food is just average at best and the service was seriously lacking. Stay away, def not worth it!

    There was not enough staff on site, waiters looked overwhelmed. My appetizer was tasty, but entree was lacking flavor, dessert wax also pleasantly tasty. The decor was very nice and inviting. I don't know if I would come back to the restaurant, price point did not match service.

    Sveta allows big group boozy brunch reservations and we had a great time on a Sunday with 12 people. Everyone enjoyed their food and the pitchers of different flavor mimosas. The additional cocktails were inventive and desserts were fun. Some of the a la carte items were a bit pricey like $8 for a coffee but the overall boozy brunch $60 deal was great. We had a late reservation (1:30pm) and the server was nice to work with our large group. We got to stay a bit later than our 90min prescribed. The biggest negative of the restaurant is there is only 1 bathroom which makes for long lines and lots of patience.

    There was no hostess. No one honored reservations here. We waited an hour and never got seated. They just handed out champagne and apologized but still never made any adjustments to seat people with reservations.

    Overall, the experience was good. I am unable to give it a great because I had to wait 1 and 1/2 hours to be seated and that was with a reservation. The restaurant really has to work out how not to over book their space because it is very quaint and small. It was numerous large parties going on which caused this problem. However, the food and drinks were delicious 😋 and the co-owner Alan was apologetic to the patron and compensated the ones who waited with complimentary champagne and dessert. I would definitely recommend and revisit.
