Everything was amazing!
The food was awesome. The service was very good, not the best I have seen here. But the noise ... the noise level was way too high!
Great food, and very good service. A very friendly and accommodating staff!
Food was great, service was equally as excellent maybe even better. Fantastic staff all around. Will be back.
Perhaps the fact that it was Friday eve Ing after Thanksgiving, pretty busy evening, may have affected experience. However, consider quality of food good, but expensive for portion size. Nothing really remarkable, but probably the best Peruvian cuisine in town, at least in that area.
food hot change since last time
Portion size got very small with high prices
It was a good experience but noise made impossible to talk one another confortable.
The food was great. The restaurant does not have a lot of character. Tanta could move out tomorrow and another completely different type of restaurant could move in the very next day.
Absolutely one of the best dining experiences I have had. It was four of us dining in. My wife and I brought two friends with us from out of town. They were like myself blown away by the food but especially the service. We asked the server to bring us what she thought we would enjoy and she must’ve brought eight shareable plates throughout the night plus dessert for the entire table. She was knowledgeable and did not hesitate to answer any of our questions. The food was great, but when the service is impeccable it elevates the dining experience and makes it unforgettable. Shout out to Luis at the bar for his amazing cocktails and to Ella our server.
Decided to go here for what we read on the menu. And we were not disappointed! Absolute best octopus I've ever tasted. Melt in your mouth empanadas. Pergectly prepared pork belly. Service just as we like it - attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.
Our server was so welcoming and the food was fantastic!!
Great place, amazing food. Don't know why not too many people know about it.
Great service and good food!! Very helpful w my dietary restriction which I appreciate.
Good food but nose level high. Also entire meal served minutes after ordering. Would liked to have had a more relaxed and slower paced dinner.
Food was wonderful, especially the cebiche. It is more expensive than we anticipated, but still the food was so good that we will be going back.
All of our meals were very good. We decided to take my son out to lunch since we were visiting him at college and I wanted something different We have been to Peru and loved the cuisine there. This place was awesome and had a lot to choose from. I had the arroz con Mariscos. It was wonderful ! The pisco sour for my drink was also very good. We would definitely come back again !
We ordered some drinks, the arroz con marisco, choclo con queso, and Las yucas. We got some complimentary taro chips which were really good. We then got cauliflower chicharron instead of the yuca. Since it took so long we didn’t bother telling the waiter. The cauliflower was too saucy. We then got the choclo con queso dish which was really good. Good flavors and nicely seasoned. Then lastly we received the arroz con marisco dish. The presentation was very nice. It was very heavy and had a thick sauce. The prawn was raw in the middle. I advised the waiter and he took it back to the kitchen. He advised that the kitchen would cook another prawn for me. Another host brought back the prawn and noted that it was a “shrimp cooked well done.” They didn’t really try to compensate for the raw prawn and charged full price for the plate. Our waiter was nice and the decor in the restaurant was nice. Based on the incorrect dish served, the raw prawn, saucy/underwhelming dishes, and poor handling of the raw prawn. I give this place a 3 star.
Fabuloso, la comida espectacular y el servicio también!!
Great, as always!
We try to eat at Tanta whenever we drive into the city for a play- it's unique in its menu, flavors, drinks and has a great vibe. The waitstaff is also tops
Always wonderful food and service at Tanta. I love the experience. Great every time.
Second visit. Will return shortly and hopefully, often.
The service was spectacular. The food was awesome and being of Peruvian decent I find some restaurants don't live up to my standards when it comes to this cuisine. Well let me say the food was great. I will most certainly go back next time I'm in Chicago and hats off to the chef and the people who work their. I also don't normally write a review but I am today because this was a nice place to find, visit and enjoy some awesome food and drink!
This is a very stylized Peruvian eatery. The first thing you notice is the noise level (high). It seems to be a popular place. The portions are small and overpriced. The cocktails were wonderful but again, overpriced. I would never go there again. Peruvian food is honest and delicious. No need to make it an over-fabricated experience. Don't get me wrong, we liked the food, just don't think I need to pay those prices to eat well.
Fabulous all around! Highly recommend
Phenomenal food, cool interior, decently fast service. Definitely worth checking out.
This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago, if not the world. The food is fresh, flavorful, unique but authentic. Try everything. I’ve never had a dish I didn’t love. The seafood fried rice dish is exceptional. The ceviches are not to be missed!!
This is the second visit to Tanta in two months and found this to be a fantastic restaurant. The chaufa aeropuerto (pork fried rice) was a table favorite as well as the empanadas and tuna cebiche. The service was good and food came out at a good pace. The noise level is energetic, so a bit loud for a business meeting.
As usual, Tanta delivers. Super delicious, creative and fun.
Everything was delicious. Pacing of food from the kitchen could have been better (everything came out at once) but all the dishes were amazing!
Great food and drinks, but the service was not that great.
We were celebrating my birthday.
Unique food and lots of varieties. Restaurant was very busy but nothing was slow. All the cold and hot dishes we ordered were delicious, especially the paella (fried rice). I personally like the fish dish with several different types as well (forgot the name; it was the first dish on the menu of the middle section with some Japanese influence). Valet parking is convenient and not expensive. Considered a hot spot on River North.
Our fourth time at Tanta, where we go for dishes that are unique and relatively light, with fresh ingredients and wonderful seafood.
Great food
Third time at tanta. I wasn’t as wowed as prior times - maybe it’s what we ordered. Food was good but not great. I do like the atmosphere and service.
Food was good but pricey as the plates are very small. Another trendy restaurant serving over priced "tapas".
The food was excellent as were the drinks. The waitstaff was very attentive and the waitress made great recommendations. It was really loud and hard to hear but that's my only complaint.
Great food new flavors!
great food , but so laoud server were great.I will come back with all my freinds
