   This as a small gem we've enjoyed for a few years. The Greek inspired bites, platters & sandwiches are freshly made and delishous! We've never been disappointed. Owner makes you feel like family. We've recommended this place to all friends & family!

   Had a late lunch here today and it was fabulous! we shared the Taste of Old Country Mega Platter charcuterie board and tried their house wine flights (pics below). Loved the mega platter and found a couple of house wines to order full glasses of. We also tried their desserts. The Greek Orange Cake with a raspberry balsamic drizzle was amazing. The baklava with chocolate sauce was also really good. We will definitely be adding this to our regular rotation of places to eat. 10/10

   We went at noon on a Tuesday, so it was quiet. There was only one other customer there when we arrived. The owner was able to spend a good amount of time with us, and also served us. We had food and wine, including a dip board and a small meat and cheese board. There is a good selection of small bites, tasting boards, paninis, and dips. Everything was excellent, and we took home some babaganoush, an Italian panini, and some Greek olive oil. We will definitely be back!

    I have not been back to the Manassas area for several years. When I was looking for a restaurant to meet an old friend open table pointed me here: “the taste of old country.” The outside is quite unassuming, the inside is well put together. The waiter was patient and well informed on the house specials and blends. I was impressed they had beer from Greece “Mythos.” For lunch both my friend and I had freshly made paninis; they were delicious!

    An Excellent artisanal gem in unlikely industrial setting, we were gobsmacked at the quality of the small plates we ordered. Flavors exploded where similar tapas and charcuterie from say Wegman’s merely satisfies. The owner visited the table and was very pleasant and informative. Highly recommended.

    Had a very nice experience last week. We had the cheese platter, grape leaves, and a caprese sandwich. We (2 people) enjoyed all and left very full. We also tried several of the different oils and basalmics and left with a six pack. I had previously bought their oils and vinegars at a farmer’s markets but am happy I went to the store this time to try out their delicious food!

    Taste of Old Country is a delightful little gem. We had two wine flights, one red and one white. There were some standouts, but all of the wines were good. We split the greek platter and it was plenty of food for two people and made to order, so plan your timing accordingly. I would consider ordering any of their platters for nibbles at parties as the charcuterie boards also looked amazing as they were delivered to another table. The group behind us ordered several paninis that looked equally good and I am looking forward to trying upon a return visit.

    Warm welcoming shop. Great choices of balsamic’s and olive oil to take home. Good variety of Mediterranean fare. We had the meat and cheese tray it was fabulous with a glass of recommend Red wine. We will be back soon delicious.

    Was recommended by friends - they were definitely right! Elias takes great pride in his eatery and it shows - let him guide you thru the wine and food offerings and you will not be disappointed. Already have reservations for next Friday night - we will be regulars.

    We love this place. We go there for lunch once a week. Every meal is so fresh and delicious. I always get the traditional Greek salad with the most tender chicken. The dressings are all homemade with very unique tasting olive oil and vinegars. My friends always get the sandwiches and love them. They serve delicious wines by the glass.     If you grew up in a Greek, Italian, or Spanish family that cooked food from “back home” then this place will remind you of those days gone by. If you’re new to those foods or are just looking for a place to try some of the best Southern European ingredients you can find then this is the first and last place you need to try. We stopped in on a date night, and we were back two nights later with two other couples because it would be a shame to not share this eatery with everyone we can. Elias is very friendly, patient, and accommodating. He will take time to explain his process and the personally selected foods that he offers in his unassuming, quaint, and contemporary bistro-slash-market. They even have one TV with travelogue images of Greece, and another TV with cooking shows that kept our food frenzy alight. Plan at least two hours, and we highly recommend simply putting yourself in Elias’s hands and letting him serve you. Every single ingredient is world class and will delight you with authenticity. I simply can’t say enough about this place and its wonderful owner. You’ll love it so much that you can come back and copy-paste this review just to make it easy. 🙂
