Tavern In Then Square is a great place to go during COVID19 because they have a nice patio with lots of fresh air. Food is great! Our servers are always friendly and attentive. I've been going to Littleton and Burlington locations with great experiences. HIghly recommended!
It was great to come back to the same place to celebrate our two year anniversary where we had our first date!!! We can't wait for Covid to be over so we can sit at the bar after dinner like we did 2 years ago.
We visited for lunch and to watch some College Football. An extensive beer and food selection and Mariah and Keri provided excellent service!
Lovely location to meet friends on the patio with drinks and appetizers.
Great food and the waitress was wonderful. It was not full to "covid capacity" at all but we were told to leave after we were there for two hours........
The service and food was excellent. Our booth had plexiglass shields on three sides. Only issue was the music was too loud.
Laura our waitress was super not only with us but a table full of 10 yr olds behind us....she was GREAT!
THANKS CHEF JOE!!!!
Everything was perfect for our lunch. Seating was spread apart, outside dining was heated just right in a nice open sunny room. Everything was clean and everyone wore their mask. Our waitress Stephanie did a wonderful job and we would definitely go back.
Food was delicious
Very attentive waitstaff
Dined here for the first time the other day and I really enjoyed myself. Great place to get a delicious bite to eat and a drink with a girlfriend/on a date. Good music playing overhead, and waitress was very attentive. Will definitely be going back soon.
Filthy and unhygienic with very dirty floors and tables. I had to use wet paper towels from the bathroom to clean our table after we were sat. Had to take a shower after eating there.
The food was very slow to come out of the kitchen (over an hour for Fish and chips).
Great place to meet and have a wonderful, reasonable priced, and delicious meal!
Food & staff were great. Celebrated my B-day with my sister, keeping in mind the pandemic we purposely kept this just the two of us. We felt very safe and look forward to our next visit! Thank you Jenna (bartender/waitress for us) for everything, you were great!
Making a reservation was easy enough - however, you weren't able to request outdoor/indoor seating. When we arrived, they wanted to seat us indoors - asked how long it would be for outside and without batting an eye the hostess told me 45 mins. Didn't seem truthful, since there were only a handful of people waiting. Food was mediocre. Guac was very light in color and lacked flavor. Bacon mac & cheese was bland, not hot and tasted as it from a box. Waitress had a trainer with her and they were both excellent. We won't be rushing to return.
The food quality was down from the last time we ate there. The food was still good just a noticeable downward notch from not that long ago.
Good food, great service. Nice outdoor space!
The food and service was excellent. I was very impressed with the outdoor dining area.
An old favorite of ours. Hadn't been there since Covid hit but they done an excellent job ajusting to those needs.
We visit Tavern in the Square often and love the atmosphere and friendly service. On our last visit we waited a very long time for our appetizers. The waitress finally noticed we never received them and apologized for it. She immediately went to the kitchen to see what happened and came out with them within a minute of leaving our table. Obviously they must have been sitting somewhere in the kitchen and as expected they were room temperature. We ate them because we were leaving soon and did not want to wait any longer. The waitress offered us something else but we did not have time to wait for something else. We go here often and this was the first time this has happened. We typically have a great experience and always great food. I’m thinking this was a one time event and was surprised we were still charged for the appetizers.
We were disappointed in two main ways--
• We requested outdoor dining for covid safety reasons. The "outdoor" patio was completely enclosed -- not really outdoor! The hostess kept trying to seat our party right next to other tables instead of offering us a table further from other diners. (We insisted on a more distanced table.)
• Although three of the diners were very pleased with their meals, I was very disappointed in my burger. I requested it VERY rare, in fact, told the server, "practically raw". It arrived cooked to medium! The server did offer to get me another one, but when you are dining with other diners they would be finished their meals when mine arrived. very disappointing
Super friendly staff, unique selection of appetizers (try the Buffalo Cauliflower- has pickled celery-YES). Burgers were cooked as ordered. Young staff who were just super pleasant. It is a sports bar...you'll love it.
Loved the food, the hostess was very sweet, our server however was not very welcoming. Very short with us, got the job done but clearly relied on her looks over her personality.
Great service and the place is set up nicely for the current situation
The service and food were great. I really like the quinoa bowl with salmon. The atmosphere is relaxed and there are plenty of TVs to check out the games while hanging with friends.
Ok night out. We made a reservation on line, after calling. The hostess who answered stated if I requested a patio table on the reservation (in the other request section) we would be "guaranteed" (her word, not mine) to be seated on the patio. When we arrived we were told there are no seats in the patio and we would have to wait a half hour. We had already waited awhile as 7:30 was the earliest reservation we could obtain, so we opted for indoor seating, despite the sole reason for choosing this restaurant was the outdoor patio seating.
We visited about 5:00 PM last Saturday. It was not yet busy. I had booked a reservation in advance but it appeared no one read what I had requested. The music was too loud to allow for table conversation .
The server disappeared after taking the order. Once the food was delivered we did not see our server . I would have sent back my overcooked fish and asked for a soda refill if we had found her. This was our second visit and our last.
Since the weather was a little chiller outdoors for eating, it would've been nice to have a heater of some kind.
We wanted to eat out on patio near heater and I had put in a request for that but once we got there, we were told it was first come, first serve even though I put in request and if we really wanted to sit there, we’d have to wait 50 minutes. I was very disappointed. We ended up sitting inside with plexiglass in between booths. The rest of the night went pretty good. But still was upset.
Great experience and staff did a great job. The food was also excellent . I will be back.
Great service, great food and beer. Staff did a great job. Kudos!
Pretty quite for a Sunday morning just before football. We went in for breakfast but wish we got a burger. When you stack hot items on over easy eggs, they become hard boiled. The omelet may have been a better choice. I understand every thing is a bit pricey right now but $50 for breakfast for two, no alcohol, included a good tip.
Food was terrible - cold, burnt, dry. This place was good the first couple times we’ve gone and the last few times have me asking myself why we go back. We’re done. The waitress service was good but we waited an hour for our food (and there were only 3 of us and the place isn’t at full capacity because of COVID). I’m all set with the Tavern in the Square.
I had the salmon bowl and it was OK. The beer was fresh.
However making my reservation very early in the day, upon our on-time arrival we got the last table out in the enclosed 3-season area which is very noisy when windows are closed.
So my conclusion and observation is we got the last undesirable available table.
Overall we thought it appeared to be over-crowded for the Covid scenario.
Fried pickle appetizer was awesome, but a little on the salty side. I ordered the chicken tenders based on a friend having ordered them the week before, but mine were overcooked a little and ended up getting dry towards the end of the meal. My husband's meal (filthy burger) was delicious and cooked exactly the way he requested it.
The restaurant's "Tavern Club" system was down and we weren't able to record our points at the restaurant, nor were we able to use the free lunch we had already earned. As well, we were not allowed to use a the Tavern gift card that we had purchased during the beginning of the pandemic (to help support the restaurant).
These aside, it was a nice lunch out and the service was good.
Lovely enclosed outdoor dining, tables very far apart, prompt courteous and a accurate service. Food was delicious , drinks were generous and tasty, and the peach melba dessert was over the top
We had a wonderful meal the fish and chips were amazing!!
There were many issues including a broken shade that allowed the sun to shine directly in our faces the entire meal. No offer to move us to a new table and no visit by management. Hostess just advise the shade was broken. The table wobbled and felt as though it would give at any minute. The food was over done and burnt (steak tips) and the sandwiches were smothered in so much cheese they were not edible. Our drinks were ok with the exception that there were actual straw papers in the beers we were served. Two managers noted lingering around the host station and neither visited to address this awful experience. Overall we will never visit this or any other Tavern in the Square location again.
Overall, another great meal with just some minor hiccups that we didn't bother our server with. We chose to dine outside and were right by the door where servers were going in and out. The door was not on a soft hinge, so it banged every time someone went in and out. Asked for a lemon for my water, and didn't receive it. One of us ordered chicken tenders that were supposed to come with celery and carrots, but didn't.
Those few things aside, as always, the food was delicious. The Harvest Salad was very good and included pretzel croutons that were a little large and perhaps could have been cut in half before being added to the salad. But the taste of the dish was great. Chicken Tenders were just that, so tender and great tasting. Started out with an appetizer of the Bang Bang Broccoli again, which never disappoints. We were allowed to stay at the table for a long time, which was great to be able to enjoy a nice fall afternoon in the sun. Wonderful place for friends who want a great tasting meal and catch up conversation.
We love ed the food and outsider seating, just disappointed the fireplace didn't work. Our server was outstanding. Thanks for a great evening
Typical tavern atmosphere with several HD TV's and sports. Service was good and good choice of draft beer.
