Sat outside… it was lovely
Appetizers and Greek Salad were nice, but not exceptional.
Fish took forever to be served and was slightly undercooked and tasted very fishy.
4 people shared an appetizer, 2 salads and 2 entrees and one bottle of their lowest priced wine and the bill was over $320 before tip.
Overall, very disappointed.
If you are looking for the unicorn restaurant experience, Taverna is it! Being greeted by Uncle Teddy is the very best start to any evening. The food is great. The service is even better. And the feeling of being taken care of, the feeling of being welcomed into Thanasis’ family is incredible! I have been there twice now and it truly keeps getting better and better. Yamas!
Unfortunately it was very disappointing. Quality and portions were very much below the expectations set by the price. Service was also very different to what would normally be seen in the bay at this price level.
The food and ambience is always amazing. Our server disappeared for the first hour after we received our drinks. It took a long time to receive our entrees ( on a Monday night?) otherwise a great dining experience!
Great night out with my daughter. The food was excellent, good quality ingredients prepared with imagination and care. The service was great, attentively well timed to our pace and conversation. Very pleasant outdoor dining area.
Good was good but very small portions. The place was very crowded and bathroom wasn’t adequate. The prices are somewhat very pricey
Fabulous food, ambiance and friendly people who work there. We will be back again!
great food, drinks and service, as always. So happy they can accomodate us outside
I didn't give 5 star review because the outdoor seating has mosquitos and we got bitten so many places on the arms and legs. this is something they need to improve.
Lovely dinner with three generations! Ambience is excellent, wonderful service, and delicious food.
Slow service. Food quality was good I couldn’t make up for the service shortfall.
I have eaten here a number of times. Usually excellent food. Today it was lunch and I ordered the Pork Gyros. It was dried out, both the meet and the pita, just 3 little slices of tomato and a little sauce. It was so salty I had to drink 4 glasses of water. And there were about 5 limp french fries stuffed inside that I couldn't eat. Really not good at all and expensive for something very marginal. My friend had a chicken salad which looked a lot better but the chicken was fried, heavy and greasy.
I will come back but only for dinner.
Hostess was snooty and not nice.
We were 5 people and she tried to squeeze us in a 4 person table adding a chair in the front. It would have been fine if they were busy. Plus the chairs are so uncomfortable!
They had 5 other tables that were set up for 8 or 6 and 2ft away. She first said they had reservations abs then said there’s no waiter. 2ft away?
Well we arrived at 1:30 and left at 4 pm
$400 later. The mother 4 tables they refused to sit us at only after insisting, no one ever arrived. In fact we were the last group of people that arrived, at least undo 4pm on Labor Day.
Waiter made up for the cold and rudeness of the waitress.
Honestly food tasted fresh, home made and good quality, but nothing special. The crispy chicken and calamari that had a dove I didn’t care for and neither did my foodie kids liked.
As much as I don’t like the service at Eviia I still think the food is amazing.
And there are other Mediterranean restaurants one the area that are tastier and less expensive or equal price but better taste or service.
Everything was perfect. Better than most of my meals in Greece!
The food was very good, but the prices are unreasonable. Waiter asked whether we wanted still or sparkling water; we said one of each. We got two bottles, and $18 on our check. No wines by the glass (except Retsina) for less than $26/glass. We spent $220 for the two of us without dessert and with only one main course. Way too much for what we got.
We love Taverna. We've had a few business meals there and Taverna has always been super accommodating, flexible and professional with all of our changing needs. The food is amazing, love how the restaurant is decorated and outstanding service is always provided. Outside seating is available and the outside set-up is super cute as well. We just love it and continue to go again and again.
First and last visit. Did not care for this restaurant. Very overpriced and food OK at best, borderline not good. Entree selection was not appealing. We probably should have ordered family style as most entrees have no sides. Music inside was loud, chairs are uncomfortable. It's clear why we got a last minute reservation when others were booked...
Had a wonderful patio seat with a the perfect amount of attention to our meal. They didn’t rush us and we felt welcome the whole time. Food was amazing! Worth the cost
It is always an amazing experience with exceptional service and food!
Great staff and very professional run restaurant!
They deserve a 5 Star rating!!!!!!
I had the crispy chicken salad because I didn't want to spend $34 for the vegetarian entree. The salad with the chicken was very nice, but the chicken was so-so. The service was good, and the ambiance is always nice there.
Terrific Greek/Turkish food and hospitality. They have also significantly expanded the size of the restaurant so it’s much easier to get a reservation.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Taverna, especially the roast chicken - yum! The Greek salad was also delicious. So many restaurants don't know how to make an authentic Greek salad. The calamari were an interesting variation, but the moussaka was not very good at all. Too much meat, and the potatoes were undercooked. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, but the service was a little slow. I thought the ambiance was very nice for an outdoor space.
Awesome as usual, Jacqui
Great food, great service, great ambiance!
fantastic restaurant, great service, exceptional food. I loved their cocktails as well. One of the best mediterranean restaurants in the peninsula, would definitely visit again anytime I am in the peninsula.
Service slow: food cold and expensive
The food was good but nothing exceptional, while the serving sizes were very small, in comparison to the prices. The wine pour was well below you 5 oz would expect at a restaurant. We ordered coffee and waited 15 minutes before asking for someone where it was and then rushed to finish as we had a previous engagement we let them know about as we were seated. We were seated early at 5:30 and the restaurant was not busy, so no excuse for the wait. We ate outside, but when we went in to use the restrooms, the staff was unmasked. Overall a disappointing experience.
The waiter never checked on us, was rude. Seemed like he was not experienced at all as if it was his first day on the job.
The food was okay, way too expensive for the portions and what it was. The lamb chops were too gamey and we had never seen au jus on grilled lamb chops. The burgers’s bun wasn’t a brioche bun was stale.
We were thinking now we have another Mediterranean restaurant as an option instead of always going to Evvia but we were totally wrong.
Fabulous evening - loved the restaurant and food. The staff were attentive and I never felt hurried.
Great food and great service. I love a restaurant that has waiters who have an opinion of what is good by actually trying the food.
They sat us in the very back, by the end of the restaurant, right on the sidewalk where everyone was walking - and right under this tree where spiders kept falling and dropping on our table and cups. We asked if we could sit at one of the many, MANY open tables but the host brought the manager to us and she refused to seat us anywhere else and had an attitude. Had we not been celebrating our anniversary, we would have left on the spot. We saw other tables behind us getting complementary bread (and our friends had been at dinner there a few weeks ago and talked about the complementary olive bread) and asked for the bread. They said we had to pay for it but we know others did not. They also brought our drinks way after we were done with all the appetizers. We are staying for a month at Nobu Hotel down the street and we were hoping it would be our spot for dinner several times a week. Needless to say, we will just be having dinner elsewhere.
Had a very lovely meal with excellent service. The food and ambience is fantastic.
Adore this amazing place and people!
Accommodating, festive and wonderful.
we had a lovely dinner for my Birthday… and the lamb chop is on point! 😘 we’ll definitely comeback
Glad we went. Very nice. The food was well done. Service was excellent. Good wine list. No rush to go back. Four stars because the level of Greek restaurants is so high, especially with Evvia three blocks away. Really nice but didn't grab us.
Very expensive. Food pretty good
We have eaten here many times. I think success has gone to their heads. The food was OK but not great, especially given the price. My $54 lamb chops (3) consisted of one that was almost raw and two that were overcooked for medium rare. The flaming cheese is dramatic but doesn't taste good - greasy. The 'house made' pita bread was doughy and tasteless.
I have never seen a wine list like this - only three bottles under $100, and the rest from $300 to $1000 or more, for wines that aren't close to worth it. The $80 Sonoma pinot was pretty good, but was supposed to be 2016, which was a good year, and was in fact 2017. Too bad - we won't be returning any time soon.
