The new menu is excellent and more reasonable prices. Don’t miss the oysters or pastas.
Dinner at Bellemore has always been a pleasure, as the focus is on hospitality that delivers a punch of flavors from the kitchen. The dishes of this evening included the stracciatella toast, fried mushrooms, and artic char. All solid in technique while layering the yumminess with captivating mouthfeels. The new menu is fresh and seems to focus on local and seasonal ingredients, which makes this trip very exciting. Possible last menu out in a while, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Exquisite!
The gentleman who took care of our table really took care of us, making solid recommendations and helping us have the best experience.
We were a table of women but were on a business lunch. Our server continued to attend to the tables of men around us and rarely came back to our table. We repeatedly had to search for him to place our order or get a refill. We had appetizers and an entree and were there over two hours. Horrible experience when entertaining customers!
The menu is somewhat sophisticated but accessible for those who are willing to sample different fare. The venison tartare was selected by my dining companion and I would have never selected that dish, but I did give it a try and it was incredible!
The menu menu items are as good or better as previous offerings. If wine is your thing, the Coravin offerings are well selected.
Amazing as always!
For the price, I've had much better food elsewhere. I can't say that anything my group of four ordered was noteworthy.
I'm amazed that I made a reservation for 5:30pm. They sat us at a high top. Very disappointing. Food was good, service was great, except the host/hostesses. Overall, it was fine
Overall, great. Disappointed that oyster pie discontinued. It was a major draw for going there.
First of all, it takes a lot for us to ever complain as my wife and I are really easy-going when it comes to restaurant service. We had a relatively early reservation on a weekday at the Bellemore and they were already sold out of the lobster ravioli, which is pretty poor, especially since we had our hearts set on it. If it was later in the evening on the weekend, I get it. To further compound the problem, the explanation as to why wasn't great. It was basically, too bad so sad.
Also, our grilled octopus appetizer, which was actually very good, came out lukewarm at best. We also planned on ordering dessert, but our server took so long to get back to us to take our order that we decided not to.
Years ago, I guess it may not not have been a big deal, but with all of the great restaurant options that are available in Chicago now, we will probably stick to those in the future.
Started with the Tuscan Bean soup with kale and sausage. It was excellent. Followed it with the pulled chicken rigatoni in a cream sauce (also with kale). Not very crowded for lunch mid-week, which is a great way to experience the place if you're on a budget since dinners can be pricey.
Wonderful experience, small portions but delicious.
Some of the food was pure bliss, like the carrot toast and banana dessert...but the rest was just decent. And for a place like this with the prices they charge ($$$), you expect the best with every dish. Nice atmosphere and friendly service though.
Delightful decor, good food, nice energy and easy to park.
We loved our dinner at Bellemore...beautiful space, delicious food and drinks and wonderful waitstaff! We will return again...thanks for the lovely evening ~our table was near the kitchen and we loved it!
I was super excited to finally try Bellemore, as it had been on the top of my list for a long time and came well reviewed from friends and coworkers. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed. Our service was good, but unfortunately the food was quite disappointing. We had the scallops, the venison tartare, the Brussels sprouts, and the squid ink pasta. Quite frankly everything was just pretty bland and lacking flavor. Ingredients were good, execution was good...the dishes just lacked sufficient flavor. The pasta was also undercooked (well beyond al dente). Our best bite of the meal was the blood orange sorbet, which was truly fantastic. Great ambiance and good service.
Service was perfect, and the staff completely accommodating our needs for quiet, cozy space.
Food was fantastic! Desert was inventive and yummy
